Abstract

Learning a language is essensially learning vocabulary, and it is the lexical competence that enables the learners to use the language with ease. It will be argued that such an ability includes, among the important ones, the knowledge of semantic properties and syntactic behaviour of the lexical item as well as its collocation. The acquisition of the semantic properties of a lexical item is necessary to support the learners ability to distinguish different senses encoded in the lexical item, and the knowledge of syntactic behaviour reflects the learners ability to recognize and produce the syntactic variants into which a lexical item can enter. The collocational competence is the knowledge of the lexical behaviour in particular that enables the learner to envisage the possible cooccurrence of other words with the given lexical item. Thus, the acquisition of lexical competence would cover a large part of syntax. This understanding of the nature and characteristics of lexicon would raise some questions on the relevance of putting great emphasis on the teaching of grammar only.

Abstract

One of the main problems in the process of translating and learning English as a foreign language may be attributed to lexical constraints. Problems exist in both processes (translating and learning) because the two languages involved represent two different systems of expression. The differences in lexical structure between English and Indonesian are predicted to be the main cause of difficulties for EFL learners and translators. Using lexical conceptual structure (LCS), this study has collected data from authentic sources including English novels, brochures, textbooks, bulletins and newspapers. From this data we have identified five types of problems: These problems will be referred to as denominalized verbs or nouns surface as verbs, deadjectival verbs or adjectives surface as verbs, verb semantic structure, collocational combination, and transitive-intransitive alternation. The analysis of these cases has demonstrated that potential problems associated with each case are all lexically related. Therefore it will be argued in this paper that these five cases are part of the main causes for the problems faced by translators and EFL learners.

Abstract

English verbs have built-in properties that determine how they behave syntactically and generate appropriate meaning associated. With these inherent properties some verbs can fill in only in certain syntactic structures and some in others. The observation of the verb COOK using English corpus has revealed its lexical properties covering the area of syntax, semantics, and collocation suggesting uniqueness of its behaviours that are distinguishable from other verbs. Having found the lexical properties of COOK, this article concludes that the acquisition of lexicon should include lexical properties that reflect their level of competence. It also argues that the acquisition of lexical properties should be implicit, not through meta-linguistic knowledge. This would render early grammar teaching unnecessary. The acquisition of lexical properties should take place through subconscious process, not explicit grammar instruction. Many of these are grammatical aspects such as word order, sentence construction, grammatical and lexical collocations.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang "Pengaruh berbagai jenis media tanam dan pupuk pelengkap cair terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedelai (Glycine max L. Merril)" telah dilakukan mulai 3 November hingga 29 Januari 2020 di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Pertanian, Universitas Slamet Riyadi, terletak di Desa Mojosongo, Kabupaten Banjarsari, Kota Surakarta.          Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai jenis media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedelai, (2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk pelengkap cair terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedelai, dan (3) untuk menentukan pengaruh interaksi antara jenis media dan pupuk tambahan cair pada pertumbuhan dan hasil kedelai.          Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang disiapkan secara faktorial. Perawatan terdiri dari 2 faktor dan masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Dua faktor tersebut adalah:1. Jenis media tanam (M), dengan 4 level, yaitu:     M1 = Tanah + pasir     M2 = tanah + pasir + kotoran ayamM3 = Tanah + pupuk + pupuk kambingM4 = Tanah + pasir + pupuk kandang + kotoran sapi2. Pupuk komplementer cair (P), terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu:P1 = Green tonik liquid supplementary fertilizerP2 = Supermes liquid supplementary fertilizerP3 = Nasa liquid supplementary fertilizer            The two treatment factors are combined so that 12 treatment combinations are obtained. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance, followed by Honestly Significant Difference Test at 5% significance level. The results showed (1) the treatment of chicken manure (M2) planting media had the highest yields for plant height, leaf length, wet stover weight, dry stover weight, number of pods, leaf area, and deciduous leaves. The number of leaves and empty pods has the highest yield found in planting media without manure. While the weight of 100 seeds and root nodules was highest in the media for cow manure. (2) supermes liquid supplement fertilizer (P2) has the highest highest yield for plant height, number of leaves, length of leaves, number of pods, hollow pods and deciduous leaves. Wet stover weight, dry stover weight and leaf area were highest in liquid supplement supplementary liquid (P1). Nasa liquid supplementary fertilizers have the highest yield for the weight of 100 seeds and root nodules. (3) Interaction occurred between types of planting media and liquid supplementary fertilizer on all parameters observed, namely plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, wet stover weight, dry stover weight, number of pods, hollow pods, weight of 100 seeds, weight of deciduous leaves, and root nodules.

Abstract

Research on "Study of Doses of Goat Manure and Composition of Planting Media on Growth and Yield of Red Okra Plants (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench)"has been carried out from March 20, 2020 to June 17, 2020 in Jenak Hamlet, Sidolaju Village, Widodaren District, Regency Ngawi withhaaheight of about 50-100 meterssaboveeseaalevel.This reserch aims to: (1) to determine the study of goat manure doses on the growth and yield of red okra plants (2) to determine the study of theecompositionnofftheeplantinggmedia on the growth and yield of okra red plants and (3) to determine the effect of the interaction of goat manure doses and the composition of the growing media on the growth and yield of red okra plants.The design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 with 3 replications. The first factor is the dose of goat manure which includes: D1: Dose of goat manure 375 g / plant, D2: Dose of goat manure 750 g / plant. D3: Dose of goat manure 1125 g / plant. Theeseconddfactorrisstheecompositionnofftheeplanting medium including: M1n:nSoil,nM2:nSoill+hHuskkCharcoal,mM3 :sSoil + Sand, M4: Soil + Husk Charcoal + Sand. Dataaweremanalyzeddusing Variance Analysis,nwhich was followeddby Honest Real Difference Testtat 5% real level.The resultssshoweddthat (1) Dose treatment of goat manureehadaa very significantteffectton yield only on the dry weight of seeds per plant. The best treatment was obtained at a dose of goat manure 750 g / plant (D2) which produced the highest weight of dry seeds per plant, (2) Theetreatmenttof media composition hadnanverynsignificanteeffectoon plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per harvest, fruit fresh weight and seed dry weight per plant. The best treatment was obtained on the composition of the planting medium (M2) which had the highest yield on plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per harvest, dry weight of seeds per plant. While the composition of the planting medium (M4) produced the highest yield on fresh weight. fruit, (3) there was no interaction between the dose of goat manure and the composition of the planting medium.

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang kajian dosis pupuk kandang sapi dan macam varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis (zea mays sacharata sturt) telah dilaksanakan pada bulan april sampai juni 2021, bertempat di di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Slamet Riyadi Surakarta. Dengan ketinggian tempat ± 150 mdpl dengan jenis tanah grumosol. Penelitian ini bertujuan : Mengkaji dosis pupuk kandang sapi dan macam varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman Jagung pulut (Zea mays sacharata sturt). Penelitian menggunakan perancangan dasar Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang disusun secara faktorial, terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan yaitu pemberian pupuk kandang sapi dan macam varietas jagung manis. Adapun kedua faktor tersebut adalah: (1) dosis pupuk kandang kambing (K) dengan 4 taraf yaitu : control (K0) , dosis 500 g (K1), dosis 750 g (K2), dosis 1000 g (K3), (2). Varietas jagung manis yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu: varietas sweet lady (V1), varietas talenta (V2), varietas jambore (V3). Perlakuan diulang 3 kali sehingga di dapatkan 36 kombinasi. Data analisis menggunakan Uji F melalui analisis ragam. Sedangkan untuk mengetahui signifikan perlakuan, digunakan Uji Beda Nyata Jujurpada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Perlakuan pupuk kandang sapiberpengaruh terhadap parameter berat  brangkasan basah dan berat tongkol. Dosis K3 (1000gram) memberikan berat basah tertinggi yaitu 420,53 gram dan dosis K 1 (500 gram) memberikan berat tongkol tertinggi sebesar 315,12 gram. Interaksi perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap parameter berat brangkasan basah, berat kering brangkasan, berat tongkol danberat tanpa klobot. Perlakuan K3V2 dosis (pupuk kandang 1000 gram dan varietas talenta) memberikan hasil berat kering brangkasan tertinggi yaitu 208,32 gram dan perlakuan K1V1 dosis (pupuk kandang 500 gram dan varietas sweet lady) memberikan hasil berat tongkol tanpa klobot tertinggi yaitu 204,63 gram.

Abstract

Pengkajian dengan judul Kajian Macam Pupuk Organik Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung Hitam bertujuan untuk mengetahui macam kompos alami yang berpengaruh optimal terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung hitam. Diselenggarakan tanggal 06 Oktober 2020 sampai 23 Desember 2020, bertempat di Pusat Penelitian Faperta Unisri Surakarta yang beralamat di Jl. Jaya Wijaya, Mojosongo, Banjarsari, Surakarta. Metode pengkajian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan faktor tunggal dan 10 perlakuan serta masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Kompos alami yang digunakan adalah pupuk kandang sapi; hijau; dan kascing. Perhitungan data dilakukan dengan Microsoft Excel kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut yaitu uji BNJ taraf 5%. Parameter pengkajian terdiri dari tinggi tanaman; jumlah daun; lebar batang; berat brangkasan basah; berat brangkasan kering; jumlah tongkol per tanaman; panjang tongkol; lebar tongkol; berat tongkol; dan berat tongkol tanpa kelobot. Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan: (1)Pemberian kompos alami tidak mempengaruhi tinggi tanaman jagung hitam; jumlah daun; lebar batang; bobot brangkasan basah; bobot brangkasan kering; jumlah tongkol per tanaman; panjang tongkol; lebar tongkol; berat tongkol; dan berat tongkol tanpa kelobot. (2)Pupuk kandang sapi 426,66 g/polybag (B2) mempengaruhi lebar batang. (3)Pemberian pupuk kandang sapi 426,66 g/polybag (B2) menghasilkan lebar batang paling tinggi yaitu 1,99 cm.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the concentration of growth regulators and water stress on the growth and yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea l). The study site was conducted at the Research and Collections Garden Faculty of Agriculture Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta  located on Jl. Jaya Wijaya No. 38 Joglo Village Banjarsari District Surakarta City Central Java 57136 with an elevation of ± 105 meters aove sea level. The study was conducted from  May 27 2021 to  August 25 2021. The design used was a completely randomized factorial design (CRD). The types of treatment are: Controlno treatment (D0); ZPT Dekamon 22.43 L with a content of 3.75 ml1 7.5 ml1 11.25 ml1 (D1 D2 D3); Water stress with concentrations of 600mlpolyag 1200mlpolyag 1800mlpolyag (C1 C2 C3). The treatment consisting of 12 treatments and 1 control  was repeated 3 times to otain 36 experimental units. The oserved parameters include visual oservation of the plant plant height (cm) numer of leaves (fiers) wet stem weight (gram) dry stem weight (gram) numer of fruits per tree (fruit) fruit weight per plant (gram) numer of seeds per plant (seeds) dry seed weight per plant (gram) mass of 100 seeds per plant (gram). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) if significant differences were found data were then  tested using Duncans multiple range test at 5%  to discriminate values. mean etween treatments. The results showed that  D2C2 treatment had the est effect on the visual morphology of plants. At the tree height parameter D3 with the highest average level of 39.63 showed a significant difference in efficiency. This is ecause  growth regulator Dekamon  is an artificial growth regulator that stimulates the growth of stems leaves and plant parts. In the wet stove weight parameter each stress treatment (C) showed a very significant effect the highest average was 15.7 in treatment C3. This is ecause water is needed to achieve maximum quality and quantity of results. The results of the response coefficient analysis (DC) showed that there was no significant difference in the parameters of leaf numer plant height wet stem weight dry stem weight numer of fruits fruit weight numer of fruits and numer of fruits. seeds mass of dry  seeds mass of 100 seeds. among all other treatments. This is due to the genetic nature of plants and external (environmental) factors such as soil water humidity temperature and light.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction effect of tea extract and the number of seeds per hole on the growth and yield of celery plants. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL), which consisted of 2 factors, each treatment combination replicated 3 times. The two factors were: (1) the number of seeds per hole (S), with 3 levels, namely: S1: 1 seed per hole, S2: 2 seeds per hole, S3: 3 seeds per hole. (2) tea extract, with 4 levels, namely: T0: control, T1: dose of tea extract 1 ml/hole, T2: dose of tea extract 2 ml/hole, T3: dose of tea extract 3 ml/hole, obtained 12 treatment combinations. Analysis of the data using Analysis of Variation (ANOVA), if it is significantly different then a further test is carried out, namely the 5% level BNT test. The results showed that: (1) the interaction between the application of tea extract and the number of seeds per hole did not affect the growth and yield of celery plants, (2) the treatment of tea extract 3 ml/hole with 2 seeds per hole gave the best results on the wet weight of the stover. of 130.77 grams per hole is equivalent to 10.9 tons/Ha.
