Abstract

In hospital, the nurses not only give their service to patients, but they also expect the attention of the management of the hospital where she worked to motivate their work, in order to create optimal performance. This research employed a mixed method research with sequential explanory strategy model. Primary data were collected through in depth interview and used questionnaires. The population is all nurses in PKU Muhammadiyah hospital of Yogyakarta unit II, the sample is 51 nurses to answer the questionnaires and 4 nurses as the informants for the interview since July 2014. The purpose of this study was to analyze the motivation of nurses were reviewed by three dimensions according to the needs of Alderfer’s ERG theory of motivation. The results showed that the majority of nurses work motivation level was as high as many as 49 nurses with a percentage 96.00% and 2 nurses with a percentage 4.00% of nurses with low motivation levels. In descriptive terms of work motivation nurses were categorized high in ERG theory. The conclusion was that the level of motivation of the cnurses the inpatient at ward PKU Muhammadiyah hospital of Yogyakarta unit II analyzed by three dimensional according to the needs of Alderfer’s ERG theory of motivation is high.

Abstract

Health services provided in the hospital are likely to cause patient safety incidents which are adverse patient. The most incidents occurred in Indonesia are errors drug administration. Incidents can be prevented, one of them by training nurses on patient safety with S-BAR approach communications. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of patient safety training; S-BAR communication in reducing injection drug administration errors in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta Unit II. The type of research pre-experiment with the design of one group pretest-posttest design. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling technique, which total of 32 nurses who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. This study used the observation sheet instruments of 10 true principle of injection drug delivery. Analyzed by Wilcoxon test. After the training of patient safety: the SBAR communication given to nurses, there were signifi cant differences in injection drug administration errors based on the principle really patient, route, medicine, time, assessment, information and evaluation (p<0.05), but no signifi cant differences in principle correct dose, expired and documentation (p> 0.05). Conclusions and suggestions: patient safety training; SBAR communication on nurses wasc reduced injection drug administration errors effectively in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Unit II Yogyakarta based on the principle of right of patients, service, medicine, time, assessment, information and evaluation. Suggested Hospital to provide periodic training to all health workers, considering the creation of a patient safety culture is the responsibility of all parties in the Hospital. Thus increase the productivity of health workers as well as the creation of a patient safety culture.

Abstract

Background: Domestic violence (DV) is a health problem that often occurs in women in the community. Violence that is often experienced by women is physical violence, psychological violence and sexual violence. Domestic violence has a negative impact on women, namely a decrease in health status and mental disorders. Women who are victims of domestic violence who have mental health problems are at risk of causing child rearing disorders. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of parenting by mothers of domestic violence victims. Methods: This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection process was carried out using a semi-structured interview method. The sampling technique used snowball sampling. The characteristics of the participants in this study were women who were victims of domestic violence who had children who were still married or divorced. The participants in this study were 7 women victims of domestic violence who had children. The data analysis used is thematic analysis using Nvivo 12 software. Results: There are 4 main themes in this study. The themes raised were causes of domestic violence (financial quarrel and cheating husband), the role of parenting by mothers of domestic violence victims, fulfilling the psychological needs of children by mothers of domestic violence victims, and the application of rules and punishments for children by mothers of domestic violence victims. Conclusions: This study concludes that mothers who are victims of domestic violence continue to provide positive parenting for their children by taking care of their children, meeting their needs and guiding their children. Health services need to develop a screening program for victims of domestic violence to detect cases of domestic violence in the community. Programs for developing parenting patterns or good parent-child relationships also need to be carried out, especially for families at risk or experiencing domestic violence so that mothers of domestic violence victims continue to provide positive parenting  for their children.
