Abstract

Plant tissue competence is to analyze the relationship between structure and function of plant tissue. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of the plant tissue module based on blended learning. The research method uses research and development (R & D) which consists of research, development, validation, and field-testing. The research was conducted on learning constraints, teaching materials, and learning materials (plant tissues). Modules are developed from the results of research which are then validated and legibility tests. The field test was conducted at SMA N 1 Jepara by taking 3 classes as a control class (without modules), experiment 1 (using modules), and experiment 2 (using blended learning modules). The results of the characteristics of the blended learning module of plant tissue are images and videos in the module derived from the results of research on plant tissue of xerophytes, mesophytes (monocots and dicots), and hydrophytes in the organs of leaves, stems and roots which are presented along with tissue information to facilitate analysis by comparing between tissue. The results of module validation by teaching materials experts are 97% and learning materials experts are 100% with very valid criteria, and module readability validation is 90% with easy to understand criteria. The results of the effectiveness of the module in the cognitive aspects of the experimental class 2 were higher than the control class and experimental class 1, which was 90,90% with very effective criteria. Classical mastery of the psychomotor and affective aspects of the experimental class 2 by 100% with very effective criteria.

Abstract

The seed plant e-book is an online learning solution. Efforts to improve the quality of learning resources for plantae material, mostly seed plants, are carried out by developing interactive e-books to support online learning. The interactive e-book is designed using a scientific and contextual approach. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the interactive e-book on seed plants with a scientific and contextual approach to the learning outcomes of students. This research method is an experiment to measure the effectiveness of using e-books with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group research design to measure learning outcomes. The average of students' learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect is 90.41. The result of the N-Gain calculation of the average learning result or the concept mastery ability test of 0. 72 is included in the high category. Interactive e-books are proven to be effective in improving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. The use of e-books in online learning encourages student-centered learning because, in the learning process, students are more active and do not depend on the teacher.

Abstract

The competence of plantae material is grouping plants' characteristics into divisions and linking their roles in life. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of the encyclopedia media for medicinal plants in Berastagi and Desa Pantai Labu, North Sumatra. Research methods and development of medicinal plants encyclopedia using the model analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The medicinal plants' encyclopedia was developed from the plant exploration research results, which were then validated and readability tests. The trial was conducted at SMA N 16 Medan using one control class (without an encyclopedia) and one experiment class (using an encyclopedia and textbooks). The exploration and identification of medicinal plant species in Berastagi and Pantai Labu Village found 30 species of medicinal plants belonging to 17 families. The characteristics of the encyclopedia of medicinal plants include images in the encyclopedia from the research results in the form of identification and inclusion of scientific names, local names, and the benefits of medicinal plants. The validation of media experts is 98%, and material experts are 95% with very valid criteria. The media readability test is 90.50% with easy-to-understand standards. The media's effectiveness in the cognitive aspects of the experiment class was higher than the control class, namely by 90% with very effective criteria. Classical mastery of the experiment class's psychomotor aspects and affective aspects was 100% with very effective criteria.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected education worldwide, and online learning is a solution to keep learning activities going. Learning in Indonesia also applies online learning by utilizing smartphones and the internet. The current education curriculum uses Education Technology (edutech), so innovation is needed in developing learning media, one of which is an Android learning application in the form of a Virtual Planetarium Observatory. The research objectives are (1) to analyze the validity of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory, (2) to analyze the feasibility of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory (3) to analyze the effectiveness of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory. This research is a research and development (R&D) research design pretest-posttest control group design with the research subjects of class VII students of MTs Al Hadi Girikusuma Mranggen Demak. The validation results of media experts and media validity experts are very valid, with 93%. The feasibility of the teacher's response and the student's response to the media is very feasible, with a percentage of 86%. The media's effectiveness is pretty effective in increasing student learning outcomes with a rate of 72%. Based on the N-Gain test, the experimental class was 0.72 in the high category, while the control class was in the middle category at 0.58. The significance of the effectiveness based on the t-test with a value of Sig 0.028 < 0.05 means a significant difference between before and after using the Virtual Planetarium Observatory on improving student learning outcomes. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the Virtual Planetarium Observatory can improve student learning outcomes on solar system material.
