Abstract

Studies in transgenic sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) demonstrated that sucrose transporter (SUT) genes were essential in sucrose translocations. Sucrose transporter gene isolated from sugarcane were designated as SoSUT1 and SoSOSUT2 respectively as encode protein of 518 and 747 amino acids. The genes were constructed into plasmid pYES2 for SoSUT1, and pYX112 for SoSOSUT2. cDNA SoSOSUT2 had also constructed into plasmid pBIN-At-GFP which was possible to trace the gene inserted. The constructed plasmid was transformed into yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and grown in minimal medium (SD–urasil) as selection medium. The transformed colony was confirmed using PCR. The functional expression was studied by growing yeast in YPD medium with 2% Sucrose, then the sucrose uptake was measured in number interval time using resorcinol method. The result showed that yeast INVSc1-pYES2-SoSUT1 and BF264- pYX112-SoSOSUT2 had higher ability in sucrose transport compared to the control-INVSc1 for SoSUT1 and control-BF264 for SoUT2. Moreover, the result showed that SoSUT1 had higher ability to transport sucrose than SoSOSUT2. Confocal microscope observation showed that transformation gene SoSOSUT2 was successful, which was indicated by green exposure of GFP protein.Keyword: sugarcane, sucrose transporter, yeast

Abstract

This study aimed to know that the implementation of classroom visit supervision can improve the performance of teachers SD Negeri 2 Kalimanggis in learning management. Subjects in this study were teachers at the SD Negeri 2 Kalimanggis, Kaloran District, Temanggung. The procedure used in this study consisted of three series of activities that will be carried in repeating cycles, include (a) planning, (b) the action by observation, and (c) reflection. The research approach used action research methods, while the data collection used study of documentation, observation, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed an increased ability of teachers to prepare lesson plans and manage the learning of the first, second, to the third action. The conclusion was the classroom visit supervision can improve the performance of teachers at SDN 2 Kalimanggis in learning management. Suggestions given to teacher was need to utilize the supervision activities as a source of information to improve teachers competence and performance. For the school principle need to utilize the result of this study as a reference in conducting research, while for school supervisor also need to utilize the results of this study as one of the references in the activities guidance towards principal and teachers in improving their performance.

Abstract

The graduatiton Program Master of Management Education Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga. Supervisor Prof. Dr. Slameto, M.Pd. This study is to determine that through the implementation of supervision class visiting can improve the performance of teachers in the learning management. The inference that supervision class visiting that can improve the performance of teachers in the learning management. Suggestions given to teachers, is taking  advantage of supervision activities as a source of information to improve the competence and performance, for principals use the results of this study as a reference in conducting research, while for school superintendent will use the results of this study as one of the references in activity guidance to the heads of schools and teachers to improve their performance.

Abstract

The problems background in the learning process, teacher and pupils are interpedently connected to one another in the learning classroom process, it is because conversation and encounter process occurred. This learning process is not an uncommon issue. The problems are teacher has not finish classroom materials for the learning process, which cause an impact on the learning process’s implementation, teacher has not developed educational learning’s process, and teacher has not mastered today’s technology. Based on those complications, the best solution is implementing classroom’s visits supervision. The problem’s formulation in this study is whether the supervision of classroom visit can improve teacher’s pedagogical competence at Elementary School of Cukil 01, Tengaran. The research’s purpose is to enhance teacher’s pedagogical competence though the classroom visit’s supervision at Elementary School of Cukil 01, Tengaran The research’s type is school action research which is applied through the phase of identification of focus’s areas, data gathering, analyzes and data interpretation, plan’s arranging, and implementation of the action. The research’s subject is ten teachers through interview and also documentary study. The data gathering’s technique used though interview, observation, questionnaire, and also documentary study. The data processing’s techniques are done with data classifying, data presentation and verification. The validity of test data is using data’s triangulation. The research’s result shows two point they are: (1) The implementation of classroom visit’s supervision obtains a maximum score, that is 94% with a very good criteria (AB) and minimum score is 74% with a good criteria (B). Feedback that is performed also given which is showed are mostly positive answers. (2) The teacher’s pedagogical competence obtains a maximum score, that is 88% with very good criteria (AB) and a minimum score is 70% with a good criteria (B).To conclude the research’s result, through the classroom visit’s supervision is able to improve the teacher’s competence at Elementary School of Cukil 01, Tengaran. Suggestions offered, there should be continuity of the classroom visit’s supervision in the school that agree by all teachers to improve the teachers’ competence in the implementation of learning.

Abstract

The problem in this research was related to the effectiveness of supervision programs implemented by the school superintendent and formulated by: 1) What were the steps supervision was conducted by a school supervisor? 2) How were the results of supervision for teachers in improving the quality of education? 3) What were the constraints and any supporting factors faced by school inspectors in carrying out its duties and functions? This study used a study document on the results of previous studies. The data collected by searching through Google Scholar journal. From the search results obtained by 26 then selected to obtain 9 journals which fill in criteria needed. From these 9 journals then conducted a meta-analysis. The results related to measures of supervision performed by school inspectors programmed, structured attention to the vision, mission and goals of partner schools and their regulations: include academic supervision carried out by applying the techniques of individuals and groups. Evaluation results were obtained surveillance program varies, ranging from moderate to attribute positive results. Evaluation of the implementation of supervision was ranged from the low category to very well performance. The evaluations toward the result supervision were also varying from low category, moderate to perform effectively. Constraints faced by school inspectors in carrying out their duties and functions to be involved in external conditions and internal inspectors concerned.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate certified teachers performance in Temanggung regency district of Gugus Mangga. This study was evalitative research using qualitative dessciptive approach. Subject of this research are teachers, principals and supervisors. Data were collected through interview, observation and documentation. The results of the study showed that performance of certified teachers in planning aspect of learning and evaluation is in good category. While the performance of certified teachers in presentation and capacity building is in the less than good category. The recommendation given for teachers in preparing lesson plan (RPP) should included aspect of communication and information technologies and also followed by the development of activities. Recommendation for schools is organizing textbooks procurement so that students can have a good process of learning. Recommendation for regional government is to provide assistance of textbooks procurement for schools which has not enough textbook. Besides that the education office recommended to make self-development program for teachers in order to develop and improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This study is an experimental research with using pretest and posttest control group design. The aimed of the study were: 1). To know the differences significant of teacher’s mastery of pedagogical competences between teachers clinical supervised in SMA Kristen YPKPM Ammbon and non-supervised teachers in SMA Kartika XIII-I Ambon, 2). To determine how the the clinical supervision influenced the teachers’ mastery of pedagogical competences. The data was collected by using observation toward teaching profile competence from Wasserman and Egert. Data analyzed using t test comparative and linear regression analysis. The result of the study was the coefficient t test was 4,184 with significant 0,001 < 0,05. It proved that there was a difference between supervision and non-supervision teachers significantly. The clinical supervision has influence about 41,9% on teachers pedagogical competences.

Abstract

This study departs from the issues of teacher skills gaps in Elementary School of Laboratorium Satya Wacana in arranging the instrument of attitudes assessment. This gap problems would be solved by school action research which aims to determine the steps of in-house training that can improve teachers’ skills in preparing attitudes instrument. The subjects of this study involved 15 primary school teachers of Elementary School of Laboratorium Satya Wacana. The research model that used was Stringer Model which consist of 3 aspects, namely : Look, Think, and Act. Instruments in this study were observation sheet and booklet. The data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result showed: 1) The steps of in-house training that can improve teachers’ skills are planning, implementing, and evaluating in house training. On the steps of planning, activities of the formation of a committee, determine the trainer, participants, material and schedule. During the implementation phase carried out activities ranging from pretest, delivery and discussion materials and posttest. At this stage of the evaluation carried out assessments throughout the in house training activities; 2) In-house training can enhance teachers’ skills in arranging attitudes assessments during the learning process. The contribution of this research theoretically maintains the arranging steps of Likert assessment scale and practically improve teachers’ skills in arranging attitude assessment in teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to see the shape of the model of impact school coaching management. This study is Research and Development (R & D). Data collection use interviewed, documentation, and Focus Group Discussion. The development phase is carried out through: (1) preliminary study, (2) arrangement model, (3) validation by expert from academic and also practitioner, (4) revision of product design and (5) proper model of coaching is tested. Data analysis conducted during in the field with the steps of data reduction, data display, and image/verification conclusions. The results showed that running coaching is difficult to finish. In addition, there is no structured and systematic planning, causing the implementation of coaching run by chance, depend on the demand from the school. There is no evaluation program for the coaching itself. The product of this study is coaching model Adiwiyata school impact base on participation that completed. Based on the feasibility result test conducted by experts and practitioners, the model is considered feasible to be tested by practitioners.

Abstract

Melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran merupakan salah satu tuntutan kompetensi guru; kesulitan utama mereka dalam PTK adalah bagaimana menyusun proposal. Menyusun Proposal PTK dimulai dengan menulis judul dan identitas peneliti: PTK merupakan kegiatan nyata, untuk meningkatkan mutu PBM; merupakan tindakan oleh guru kepada siswa yang harus berbeda dari  kegiatan biasanya; terjadi dalam siklus berkesinambungan; minimum dua siklus. Judul memuat gambaran upaya yang dilakukan untuk perbaikan pembelajaran sesuai hasil analisis karakteristik siswa dalam pembelajaran sebelumnya, tindakan yang diambil untuk merealisasikan upaya perbaikan pembelajaran, dan setting penelitian. Pendahuluan terdiri dari: Latar Belakang Masalah, Rumusan Masalah, Tujuan dan  Manfaat Penelitian. Kajian teori dan hipotesis memuat Teori Mapel, Teori Pembelajaran Mapel, Teori Pembelajaran variabel tindakan (X) sesuai standar proses, Teori variabel yang akan diperbaiki (Y)  termasuk kegiatan apa saja yang harus dilakukan untuk mengukurnya.Kajian Hasil Penelitian yang Relevan, Kerangka Pikir dan Hipotesis tindakan. Metode Penelitian memaparkan Subjek dan Waktu Penelitian, Variabel yg diteliti (definisi operasional setiap variabel dan kisi-kisinya), Prosedur penelitian yang berisi deskripsi per Siklus (rancangan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan/ pengumpulan data/ instrument, refleksi), Rancangan Tindakan terdiri dari: 1) Rencana pembelajaran 2) Rencana kegiatan, 3) Rencana apa yang akan diamati, dan 4) Rencana analisis data. Data dan cara pengumpulannya: jelaskan setiap variabel beserta instrumen yang digunakan serta Indikator kinerja masing-masing variabel; akhiri dengan analisis data. Bagian akhir dari proposal berupa Daftar Pustaka dan Lampiran.
