Abstract

Later years and growing old is a natural process that is experienced by humans, slowly but surely going to happen and have a direct impact on the various aspects of life. Facts show various problems can occur because of unpreparedness of the elderly in accepting all the changes that happened. Supposedly the elderly should be able to complete the development tasks optimally and ultimately having personal integrity fully in receiving physical decline, and social well psikhis. The readiness of the elderly in receiving various reduction in the physical, psychological and social well can help achieve multidimensional health in living the rest of life in old age. Spiritual counseling approach with various techniques such as prayer, teaching the concepts of spiritual, scriptural references, spiritual experiences, spiritual confrontation, prayers shared between the client and the counselor, the urge to forgive, the use of community or religious groups, prayer client, religious bibliotherapy. Spiritual counseling approach is very appropriate for the elderly so that old age life more meaningful and they can fill their lives with things that are productive and useful.

Abstract

This article was compiled to find out how the strategy of leaders in Islamic educational institutions in improving the quality of learning in the era of the covid 19 pandemic. Through the literature study that has been carried out, it was found that the strategy of Leaders at Islamic Educational Institutions in improving the Quality of Learning in the Era of the Covid-19 Pandemic is by maintaining the professionalism of teachers and even improve their quality so that they can still provide quality learning even through online. In addition, the leader always monitors educational developments during the pandemic and seeks to maximize his own role as a leader, especially in terms of learning quality management, so as to obtain an increase in the quality of learning at Islamic Educational Institutions even during the Covid 19 pandemic era.

Abstract

Online games are played through internet connection on various devices, either alone or collaboratively with players from around the world. This research aims to explore the impact of violence in online games on children's behavior and mental health. The research methodology is literature review, using sources from Google Scholar and articles published in Scopus- and Sinta-accredited journals. Violence in online games refers to graphic or action scenes that depict violence, such as weapon fighting, physical violence, harsh language, or other brutal acts. Some games display violence explicitly and realistically, such as blood, broken bones, or sexual violence, while in other games, violence is implicitly and less visible. The presence of violent content in online games may have different impacts on children, but generally can affect their behavior, character, and mental health. Therefore, it is crucial for parents and caregivers to limit the time spent playing online games and choose games that are safe and do not contain violent content for children. The negative impact of violent online games includes increased aggression, reduced empathy, decreased mental health, distraction, and worsened behavior. However, there are also positive impacts of violent online games, such as enhancing social and cognitive skills, improving multitasking ability, and boosting creativity. It is important for parents and caregivers to monitor and regulate their children's online game time, and choose games appropriate for their age and maturity level that do not contain violent content.

Abstract

Pelatihan Penggunaan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Teknologi Bagi Guru merupakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan secara online pada bulan Februari 2023 dengan peserta dari Kabupaten Tabanan, Provinsi Bali. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, yang masih banyak dihadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan akses dan pengetahuan teknologi serta kurangnya dukungan dari pihak sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk terus meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menghadapi tantangan perkembangan zaman yang semakin cepat.

Abstract

Islamic character education plays a vital role in mitigating bullying behavior within boarding schools by fostering student behavior characterized by politeness, tolerance, and respect for differences. This study aims to analyze the significance of Islamic character education in proactively addressing bullying behavior in boarding schools through a literature review methodology. Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilizes a literature review analysis technique to gather data from various sources, including books, journal articles, and research findings related to Islamic character education and bullying in schools. The collected data is analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings of the study indicate a pronounced urgency for implementing Islamic character education in anticipation of bullying behavior in boarding schools. Islamic character education not only shapes students' behavior to be polite, tolerant, and respectful of differences but also enhances their empathy, concern, and courage to combat bullying. Consequently, boarding schools should reinforce Islamic character education within their curriculum and integrate it into daily school activities. In conclusion, this study underscores the paramount importance of Islamic character education in preventing bullying behavior in boarding schools. Hence, it is imperative that Islamic character education becomes an integral component of the educational curriculum in boarding schools, fostering positive student behavior and reducing instances of bullying.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi telah menjadi perhatian penting dalam mengembangkan mahasiswa menjadi individu yang lebih berintegritas dan bertanggung jawab dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesadaran moral dan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan di beberapa perguruan tinggi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara statistik untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara pendidikan karakter dan tingkat kesadaran moral serta kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman lebih dalam tentang efektivitas program pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi dalam membentuk mahasiswa yang beretika dan mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik dalam konteks sosial. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan program pendidikan karakter dan membentuk generasi mahasiswa yang lebih berkualitas dan berdampak positif pada masyarakat.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan platform desain grafis Canva dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran bagi kalangan guru, mahasiswa, dan dosen. Dalam era digital, media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif memegang peran kunci dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Kegiatan ini telah dilaksanakan secara daring melalui aplikasi Zoom pada tanggal 2 Agustus 2023, dengan melibatkan 29 peserta dari berbagai latar belakang pendidikan. Metode pelatihan mencakup presentasi, demonstrasi langsung penggunaan Canva, serta praktik mandiri peserta dalam menciptakan materi pembelajaran. Hasil kegiatan ini mencakup peningkatan pemahaman peserta tentang fitur-fitur Canva, kemampuan mereka dalam membuat materi pembelajaran yang menarik, serta perkembangan keterampilan digital. Peserta juga melaporkan kepuasan tinggi terhadap pelatihan ini.

Abstract

This study examined effective practices in higher education leadership for shaping students' character within an Islamic framework. Drawing from moral and ethical development theory, virtue ethics, and positive psychology, it explored the intricate relationship between leadership, character development, and Islamic principles. Through an in-depth analysis of character development initiatives in Islamic-focused higher education institutions, the study identified vital strategies: curriculum integration, faculty training, assessment, community engagement, cultural competency, and holistic support services. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of promoting critical thinking and reflection to help students evaluate their values against Islamic principles. Leadership theories like transformational, servant, and ethical leadership were highlighted to guide leaders to align with Islamic values such as justice, trustworthiness, and consultation. Case studies of the successful integration of Islamic guidance into leadership approaches offered insights for other institutions. Nonetheless, the study recognized existing research gaps and the need for further exploration of leadership practices and the long-term impact of character development initiatives.

Abstract

This research attempts to explore the impact of social media use on students' communication patterns with teachers in an educational context. In the increasingly advanced digital era, social media has become a significant element in changing the way humans interact and communicate. Communication between students and teachers is key in creating an effective learning experience. Teachers are not only conveyors of knowledge, but also guides, mentors and sources of inspiration for students. The quality of communication between students and teachers affects students' understanding, motivation and interactions that support the learning process. However, with the deepening use of social media by students, this communication pattern has undergone significant changes. This study uses a quantitative approach and quantitative descriptive research type. The measurement instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale to explore students' views on social media and their communication patterns with teachers. The results of the analysis showed a significant influence between the use of social media and students' communication patterns with teachers, with social media contributing 70%. These results illustrate the importance of social media in supporting an effective learning process and emphasise the need for a deeper understanding of its impact.

Abstract

Because social media has a number of qualities that make it useful in influencing public opinion, it has a big impact on public opinion. Social media itself provides a powerful platform for sharing ideas and information, of course the impact on public opinion has very significant positive and negative sides. Therefore, it is important for social media users to be wise in using social media. The presence of modern communication media as a result of the increasing development of information and communication technology tends to blur the boundaries between interpersonal communication or traditional interpersonal communication and mass communication. The method used in this article is to use a literature study which contains theories related to the problem being studied. The impact of social media on public opinion, as well as the variables that affect its function and its problems and effects, are all covered in this study.
