Abstract

Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria may contaminating uncooked food and cause food poisoning disease. Long beans (Vigna sinensis L) is one of the vegetable that consumed by people in raw (uncooked) and often traded in traditional markets. Many traditional markets do not meet sanitation requirements and many sellers do not perform good personal hygiene. These situation can potentially to cause bacterial contamination of vegetables sold in traditional markets. There has been no research examining E. coli contamination in long beans that sold at traditional markets in Jember. The purpose of this study to prove the contamination of E. coli bacteria in long beans at traditional markets in Jember. The research method uses an observational descriptive design with the cross sectional approach. Research places in eight traditional markets in Jember Regency and Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember. The samples used amounted to 40 long beans purchased from 40 traditional market traders. The microbiological examination is performed using the most probable number (MPN) method, namely presumptive test and completed test. The results showed from the presumptive test all of 40 samples (100%) contaminated with coliform bacteria. After completed tests, 36 out of 40 samples (90%) were found contaminated by E. coli. The majority of long beans sold in traditional markets have been contaminated by E. coli bacteria.

Abstract

Several sources cause skin tissue damage. Kefir probiotics, made from fermented cow's milk, are believed to remove scars during use. Kefir involves a series of immune processes, acute and chronic inflammatory processes, cell division cell migration, chemotaxis, and various differentiations. This research determines the histopathological fibroblast cells in the wound healings in mice (Mus musculus) given 80% kefir probiotic. The method of research was the posttest-only control group experimental design. Mus musculus aged eight weeks with a bodyweight of 18-40 grams were taken in two groups randomly with 32 Mice. The result is that fibroblasts in the negative control group had a smaller mean of 10,25 compared to the mean number of fibroblast cells in the 80% Kefir group, which was 25,18. Thus, it was proven that the effectiveness of Kefir probiotics of wound healing in mice (Mus musculus) was given 80% kefir probiotic (p=0,000 <0.05).  There is an effect of kefir probiotic on the healing of cuts in mice based on the calculation of the number of fibroblast cells.

Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly becomes a serious problem if not treated as early as possible and will cause complications. The problem that often occurs in hipertensive elderly is have problems with suboptimal self-care behavior. This is influenced by the level of stress that the elderly have to change their optimal self-care behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between stress levels and self-care behavior in hipertensive elderly. Descriptive correlation was used in this study with a cross sectional approach and the sample obtained was 252 of hipertensive elderly in the Surabaya Public Health Center Area with a cluster random sampling. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rho test. The hipertensive elderly had a stress level of 0.8% in the severe category and 46.8% in the moderate category and 52.4% in the mild category. The elderly also have self-care behavior of 31.7% in the low category, 39.3% in the sufficient category, 29% in the good category. This study shows a significant correlation between stress levels and self-care behavior with a value of p = 0.000  (<0.05) and the coefficient correlation had a fairly strong relationship with a negative value of -0.384. This study shows that there is a correlation between stress levels and self-care behavior in hypertensive elderly and a negative value indicates that if the elderly with stress is getting heavier or higher, their self-care behavior tends to be bad or down. Nurses must understand that stress levels something that needs to be studied in behavioral changes in hipertensive elderly to provide comfort in carrying out self-care behavior
