ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. This journal is published regularly twice a year in April and October. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. ABDIRA contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving community welfare.

<![CDATA[This service aims to determine the use of oyster mushrooms for food needs as local wisdom for urban communities. The method used with an ethnographic approach is to describe in detail the oyster mushroom cultivation technique for the community in Kalidoni District, Palembang City. The process of cultivating oyster mushrooms from start to harvest takes about one month. Baglog from sawdust used can last for 7 months, then it must be replaced with new planting media. The time interval for the first harvest and the next harvest takes 2-3 days. Mushroom yields will be maximized if you regularly water three times in one day. Production of oyster mushrooms for one baglog media, can produce 0.5 kg to 1 kg of mushrooms. The mushroom harvesting system is carried out from the base of the stem because the remaining stems can rot. Harvesting is done every day or every few days depending on the distance from which the polybags are opened. The one baglog produces about 1 kg of mushrooms at a price of Rp.25,000 to Rp.30,000/kg.]]>

<![CDATA[The use of toilets in Indonesia mostly uses the squat toilet type. The squat toilet is a type of toilet that is comfortable and stable in its use. The type of squat toilet in Indonesia, especially in Riau, has the most widely used toilet for adults, this is very difficult for young children in a smaller time span than adults so that children are not comfortable and stable when using a squat toilet. The service method was carried out at the Aqila Kids PAUD Post in Rimbo Panjang Village, and was attended by 15 students along with parental assistance. The result of this socialization is that it can increase knowledge about the distance between children's feet by measuring the distance between the legs when children squat, education on the importance of using squat toilets from an early age and knowledge in using squatting toilet training. The empowerment of teachers and parents in monitoring the use of squatting toilet training is expected to be realized properly by presenting several examples of squatting properly and correctly so as to create a comfortable and safe atmosphere.]]>

<![CDATA[The increased knowledge and skills of fishermen housewives in diversification the processing of kalandue shellfish is expected to increase the added value of kalandue shellfish which in turn will improve the economic level of fishermen housewives. The stages of this service activity include: survey and planning; implementation preparation; implementation; and Program sustainability strategy. This community service activity has a positive impact on the group of fishermen housewives, namely increasing knowledge and skills in diversification the processing of kalandue shellfish, business management, marketing and promotion strategies as well as maintaining environmental sustainability and the balance of marine ecosystems. Program sustainability strategies, namely establishing an organizational structure for business groups of fishermen housewives, collaborating with the government and building partnerships.]]>

<![CDATA[Community service is carried out in Sekip Village, Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang Regency with the goals and targets to be achieved, namely housewives can utilize local food ingredients, namely pumpkin (Cucurbita Moschata) to be processed into products that have added value, so that later it can become an economic resource, and can improve the economy. The service is carried out for 1 day in two stages. The first stage is to provide counseling about the value and benefits of pumpkin for health, and the use of pumpkin to be the basic ingredient for making jelly. The second stage is to provide jelly making training. The benefits that can be taken from this activity are increasing public awareness and ability to use pumpkin as an ingredient for making jelly and being able to foster entrepreneurial motivation, especially for the people of Sekip Village.]]>

<![CDATA[A phenomena increased use of health supplement in Samarinda community is lasting since COVID-19 pandemic. The people knowledge about health supplement consumption a are dominantly received from advertisement and published article on internet. However, not all of the informations are correct. Therefore, this community service program was a webinar and interactive discussion about the use of health supplement, in a zoom meeting media. The pretest and post test were used to evaluate the benefit of this program. From a total of 67 participants, 37 of them fill the pretest form, and 28 fill the posttest form. As many as 92% of participants believe that health supplements keeps body healthy, and 43% of them routinely consumed health supplements. After our explanation and discussion session, 86% participants stated that very much new information they received, ang 50% of them said that their way to use health supplement were not fully correct. As many as 93% participants satisfied to this community service program. It can be concluded that this education program was successful.]]>

<![CDATA[Service activities are aimed at micro, small and medium enterprises or UMKM located in East Sumba. The problem is the lack of understanding in marketing and promoting products so that it’s difficult to develop, this is the main reason for implementing this activity. The implementation of the graphic design field is needed to help produce logos and packaging as identities that help increase the selling value of the product. Service activities were carried out on 3 UMKM in Waingapu, East Sumba, in this activity the team provided socialization related to the use of technology for marketing and produced logo designs and product packaging that had reached the copyright registration stage to be developed into local brands. The results of this activity are expected to help the marketing process and product development. A good response was received by the team with a satisfaction percentage of 75% Very Satisfied, 20% Satisfied and 5% Quite Satisfied.]]>

<![CDATA[Local community development is a process aimed at creating social and economic progress for the community to be directly involved in empowering farmers in Heberima Village, Jayawijaya Regency with the aim of helping farmers develop and cultivate their land to be productive and able to prosper farmers. In addition, it can also directly develop organic farming systems that have been implemented for a long time. The method of implementations this activity is carried out by socialization, mentoring, training and workshops. This activity was carried out in July-October 2021. The results of the implementation of this activity have a positive impact and good learning for students, institutions, partners and local governments in processing unproductive land into productive land and increasing farmers' income by aligning agricultural and tourism activities. The percentage of achievement of the results of service activities is 80% of farmers as land owners who are very enthusiastic in implementing the intended PHP2D activities.]]>

<![CDATA[The increase in the number of cafes in Indonesia is due to the changing lifestyle of today's young people. The cafes that have sprung up have different concepts, such as the Coffee Rest in Padang city. Business actors must have the ability to compete with other cafe owners, especially in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. Entrepreneurial characteristics are believed to support the business owned so that it can achieve success. The method used is socialization after conducting interviews and observations. The group made eight visits to the Coffee Rest for three months. With this outreach activity, the owner began to implement the suggestions from the group so that the number of visitors and customers increased compared to the previous few months.]]>

<![CDATA[The problem of learning physics at the Oepoi Kupang Seminary High School is the limited use of teaching aids in physics learning. The purpose of the service activities carried out is to describe the satisfaction and benefits of the process of making teaching aids and the results of their use. Methods of implementation activities include observation and interviews, reviewing laboratory equipment, followed by preparation and training activities. The props made are binoculars, a hose and a U-pipe holder, and an image model for visualizing the formation of an object's image between two plane mirrors. The activity was carried out for three days and was attended by 25 students of class X SMA Seminar Oepoi Kupang. Furthermore, observations and filling out questionnaires on the satisfaction and benefits of participating in the activities carried out were carried out. The results of the activities carried out, the teacher and resource persons can make physics teaching aids that can explain physics material in more detail. The benefits and satisfaction of students participating in mentoring activities is that more than 80% of students are satisfied to feel the benefits of this mentoring activity.]]>

<![CDATA[Berbagai bentuk energi yang berkaitan langsung dengan masyarakat misalnya energi panas untuk memasak, energi listrik untuk penerangan dan peralatan listrik lainnya. Namun penggunaan energi listrik bagi masyarakat kurang mampu dari segi ekonomi tentu tidak dapat menggunakannya. Dusun Siahari di Pulau Seram dengan jarak lebih kurang 187 km dari pusat Provinsi Maluku yaitu Kota Ambon. Permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat Dusun Siahari adalah energi listrik terutama untuk rumah tinggal karena terbatasnya jangkauan listrik PLN. Salah satu potensi dusun Siahari adalah energi angin yang dapat digunakan sebagai Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Angin. Berkaitan dengan hal tesebut tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan untuk menciptakan kemampuan sebagai masyarakat Siahari mandiri energi. Tahap awal dilakukan sosialisasi EBT dilanjutkan pelatihan sistem turbin, generator untuk memberikan pengetahuan keterampilan kepada masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dusun Siahari dapat menghitung daya turbin, komponen turbin angin, perawatan turbin angin generator.]]>
