Abstract

The study examined the Interventions of Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFUND) and lecturers’ productivity in government owned Colleges of Education in Kogi State, Nigeria. The research design adopted for this study was descriptive study. The population of this study were lecturers and the management staff in the selected Colleges of Education in Kogi State. The instruments used include “Tertiary Education Trust Fund Intervention Allocation checklist” (TETFIAC), “Tertiary Education Trust Fund Intervention Assessment questionnaire “(TETFIAQ) and Lecturers’ Productivity Assessment Questionnaire” (LPAQ). The reliability values of the instruments were 0.80 and 0.75 for TETFIAD and LPAQ respectively. Descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviations were used to analysis the seven research questions raised in the study. It was revealed from the findings that TETFund has done considerably well by having moderate interventions on staff training and development, research and academic growth , instructional facilities, library development and physical infrastructure and these levels of interventions has significant impacts on the level of lecturers’ productivity in government owned Colleges of Education in Kogi State, Nigeria. The study recommended among others that the management of government owned Colleges of education in Kogi State to intensify efforts on meeting all necessary requirements for accessing and releasing of all approved funds form TETFund.

Abstract

<p><em>This paper is focused on describing the concept of developing a competency-based PAI curriculum from the Muhaimin perspective in Islamic Higher Education. The discussion of this competency theory cannot be separated from several problem factors that still often arise in solving problems faced by students after they finish their college studies. Therefore, Muhaimin offered a solution to solve existing problems by initiating the concept of developing a competency-based PAI curriculum to overcome these problems. This study includes a literature study design with a philosophical approach. Documentation of primary and secondary sources is the method of this research. The results of this study indicate that; first, the steps for developing a competency-based curriculum are determining educational goals, identifying and selecting learning experiences, organizing curriculum materials and learning activities, and evaluating the results of curriculum implementation. Second, the identification of competency-based PAI curriculum development in the curriculum development method has been seen from the general objectives, classification of objectives, and specific objectives. Third, the urgency of developing a competency-based curriculum is one solution for every educational actor, especially lecturers who are required to be able to develop a curriculum in carrying out learning activities on campus in order to prepare graduates who are competent in their fields.</em></p>

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter menjadi perhatian serius bagi pemerintah Indonesia. hal tersebut tampak pada usaha pemerintah untuk menaungi pelaksanaan Pendidikan karakter dengan peraturan perpres no 87 tahun 2017 tentang penguatan Pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan Pendidikan tentang penguatan pendidikan karakter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini penelitian kebijakan dengan pendekatan kajian pustaka. Peraturan presiden no 87 tahun 2017 menjadi sumber primer dalam penelitian ini, sedangkan sumber sekunder berasal dari buku dan jurnal ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Penguatan pendidikan karakter dilaksanakan di lingkungan keluarga, sekolah dan masyarakat, 2) kebijakan penguatan pendidikan karakter cenderung hanya mengatur pelaksanaan Pendidikan karakter di Pendidikan formal, 3) penguatan Pendidikan karakter yang terintegrasi antara pendidikan di lingkungan keluarga, sekolah dan masyarakat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out in depth the process of running Total Quality Management (TQM) in Islamic educational institutions, namely located at madrasah Tsanawiyah Ma'arif Darussholihin Sumberadi Mlati Sleman Yogyakarta. The research uses qualitative research methods with a Descriptive approach method that explains phenomena and circumstances as they are. The method of data collection uses interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis method uses data reduction, display data, and Drawings/Verification. From the results of this study, it is explained that the implementation of TQM in MTs Darussholihin leads to aspects of improving the quality of learning, increasing the professionalism of employees, maintaining good relations with customers and leading to aspects of products produced by MTs Darussholihin. Supporting factors in the implementation of TQM in MTs Darussholihin are: first, the existence of the Tahfidzul Qur'an program as a representative form of MTs Darussholihin's vision, namely producing a generation of tahfidzul Qur'an who is intelligent, independent and creative. Both environments are conducive to learning activities because MTs Darussholihi stands in the Ash Sholihah Islamic boarding school complex. The inhibiting factors in the implementation of TQM in MTs Darussholihin are: first, the slow development of all infrastructure both leading to facilities and infrastructure that are supporting components in learning activities in madrasahs. Abstract

This article focuses on discussing total quality management in Islamic educational institutions. Teamwork in handling projects to improve or develop the quality of education is carried out through empowering employees and their work groups by giving them greater responsibility. The researcher uses a literature study conducted on several data findings from well-known journal publications such as Google Book, Google Scholar, Taylor & France, Elsevier, and other publications that discuss total quality management issues. To get answers to this research problem, researchers involved coding systems, data interpretation, and high-level evaluation to obtain valid and reliable data. The results of the research show that the existence of cooperation in an educational institution is the main capital in achieving quality and stakeholder satisfaction through a process of continuous quality improvement. Teachers, staff and everyone else in educational institutions also provide services to colleagues and fellow internal customers. Bad internal relations will hinder the development of an institution. Total Quality Management (TQM) transforms school institutions into a team to achieve one goal which is to satisfy all customers. The role of parents in motivating children from an early age is a big capital for children's success in school.

Abstract

The study examined the leadership behaviour towards conducting effective staff meetings.in Oyo State Public Universities; investigated the various management strategies that have been adopted by the Heads of Department in ensuring effectiveness in staff meetings in public universities as well as assessed the effective management strategy with a view to improving staff meetings in public universities in Osun State. A descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population for the study comprised the Heads of Departments and Academic staff members in all the public universities in Osun state. Two self-designed instruments were used, namely: Management Strategies and Staff Meetings in Universities Interview Guide (MSSMUIG) and Staff Meeting Questionnaire (SMQ) to elicit information from the respondents. Data collected were analysed using descriptive and content analysis. Frequency counts, percentages, means, and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions raised. Content analysis was used for the qualitative aspect. The results showed that all the management strategies adopted facilitates and enhances effective staff meetings in public universities in Osun State. It was further revealed that communication strategy was adopted because it afforded the staff members ample opportunities to express themselves and partake actively in decision-making process concerning departmental affairs as well as their personal affairs.. The study therefore, concluded that communication and management strategies were the most effective for staff meeting as they afforded members ample opportunities for expression and active participation in decision-making processes.

Abstract

Purpose − This research aimed at (1) analyzing the transformational leadership of the principal to increase the quality of the graduates, (2) analyzing the instructional leadership of the principal to increase the quality of the graduates, and (3) analyzing the quality objectives of the graduates in SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta. Method − This research used descriptive qualitative method with case study approach. The location of the research was in SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta. The respondents consist of the principal, the vice principal in charge of curriculum, and the teachers of SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques were with observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings − The research result showed that: (1) The transformational leadership of the principal of SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta has already been good in increasing the quality of the graduates, (2) The instructional leadership of the principal in increasing the quality of the graduates in SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta has already been good, and (3) the graduates of SMA Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta I were targeted to be accepted in their favorite universities. Because the fighting spirit of the students were relatively not high, the target was not entirely achieved. However, globally, the quality of the graduates at SMA Muhammadiyah I Yogyakarta has already been good.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) to find out the public relation management in building the image of MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara, 2) to find out the strategy of MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School in building the institution image. The approach used was qualitative and the type of research was descriptive qualitative. The subject of the research was the Leader of the Institution “Andalusia” Banjarnegara, the Headmaster, the employee/ school operator, the teachers/ academic advisors of the classes, the students, the parents/ the guardians of the students, and the people in the environment of MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara. The data collecting techniques were interview, observation, and documentation. The data analyses used were data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. From the data analyses, the research results are: 1) MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara has carried out the function of public relation management well even though there has not been the division of public relation in the structure of the organization, 2) The public relation activity is carried out by all civitas academia in MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara by the management including planning, organizing, implementation, and controlling the public relation activity well, 3) MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara is building the image of the institution as in the fact by focusing the achievements of the school along with the quality improvement, 4) The efforts of MTs “Andalusia” Boarding School Banjarnegara in building the image of the institution include the activity of the opinion building, the school publication, and the education marketing.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of management of educational facilities and infrastructure in increasing the satisfaction of madrasah residents in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Roudlotul Huda Purwosari Padang Ratu, Central Lampung. The research method used is descriptive with data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. The respondents in this study were madrasah residents consisting of students, teachers, and madrasah staff. The results showed that the management of educational facilities and infrastructure has an important role in increasing the satisfaction of madrasah residents. The availability of adequate educational facilities and infrastructure such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, sports facilities, and canteens that are clean and comfortable greatly affects the satisfaction of madrasah residents. In addition, good management in the management of educational facilities and infrastructure such as maintenance, repair, and development of facilities also plays a role in increasing the satisfaction of madrasah residents. In this case, cooperation between madrasah administrators and related parties such as the government and the community is also very important to obtain support in the development of educational facilities and infrastructure. In conclusion, this study shows that the management of educational facilities and infrastructure has a very important role in increasing the satisfaction of madrasah residents. Therefore, efforts need to be made to improve the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure and their management to achieve these goals.

Abstract

Purpose − This research is motivated by the importance of Digital-based educational financial management. This study aims to analyze the concept of digital-based financial management. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this research is to analyze the concept of digital-based education financial management. Method − This research is library research. Researchers collect data from various references such as books, journals, articles, and others. Researchers use data sources. The primary data source is in the form of books on digital-based education financial management. In addition, researchers use secondary data such as journals and scientific articles published in national and international journals. Collecting data with reading and note technique. Data analysis, researchers used Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis techniques, namely: (1) data reduction in the form of summarizing data and selecting data that is relevant to the topic of discussion; (2) data presentation in the form of presenting reduced data; and (3) drawing conclusions. Findings − The results of this study include 1) education financial management, 2) principles of digital-based education financial management, 3) implementation of digital-based education financial management.
