Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kesetaraan tes ujicoba Ujian Nasional matematika SMA program IPA d SMAN Kota Yogyakarta tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Sumber data berasal dari lembar jawaban siswa kelas XII IPA di SMAN kota Yogyakarta yang mengikuti ujicoba Ujian Nasional Matematika IPA tahun pelajaran 2009/2010 putaran 1, 2, dan 3 dengan jumlah sampel 1396. Karaketeristik tes dilakukan Bilog MG, Analisis untuk kesetaraan meliputi: analisis varians untuk menguji kesamaan rata-rata, uji Tukey untuk uji pasangan, dan uji Levene untuk menguji homogenitas varians. Proses penyetaraan menggunan kurva karakteristik dari Haebera dengan bantuan program Excel 2007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama tes putaran 1, 2, dan 3 tidak paralel. Tes putaran 1 dan putaran 2 tidak paralel dengan persamaan kesetaran tes putaran satu (X)  ke putaran dua (Y)  adalah  = , demikian juga dengan tes putaran 1 dan putaran 3 juga tidak paralel dengan  persamaan kesetaraan soal putaran satu (X) ke putaran tiga (Z) adalah = . Kata Kunci: Penyetaraan  horizontal, test matematika

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ problem-solving skills and to describe the implementation of creative problem solving (CPS) model in Mathematics Education students of the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar in its program. This research was a classroom action research which involved 33 students with two cycles (1 cycle was 4 times meeting). The cycling stage consisted of planning, action, observation, reflection. Data collection through observation, test result, and student response were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The research finding was: Implementation of learning model (CPS) can improve students’ problem-solving ability which can be seen from the increasing of solving ability from 63,03 (enough) to 77,72 (high). Effective learning (CPS) implementation with learning implementation indicators improved from less category to excellent category; student activeness increased from active category to highly active category, and student responses were in a very positive category. (2) Implementation of Learning Model (CPS) can be implemented through five stages: clarification of the problem; disclosure of ideas; evaluation; and implementation. Keyword: Learning Model, Creative Problem Solving (CPS), and Problem Solving Ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan logis  pada pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan LKS pada siswa kelas VIIIC SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta.            Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif dan partisipatif pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Juni 2013. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIC SMP Negeri 11 Yoogyakarta sejumlah 34 siswa tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain spiral Kemmis dan Taggart. Tindakan dilakukan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan  adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif.            Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan LKS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan logis dalam pembelajaran matematika. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari : (1) persentase rata-rata untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pra tindakan sebesar 36,27% dengan kriteria sangat rendah, pada siklus I sebesar 60,29% dengan kriteria sedang, dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 89.71% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. (2) Persentase rata-rata untuk kemampuan berpikir logis pada pra tindakan sebesar 31,94% dengan kriteria sangat rendah, dan menjadi 47,57% dengan kriteria rendah pada siklus I, kemudian meningkat menjadi 83,72% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi pada siklus II. (3) Persentase rata-rata pada observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus 1 persentase rata-rata sebesar 68,33% dengan kriteria tinggi dan pada siklus II menjadi 88,96% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan LKS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan logis pada pembelajaran matematika siswa kelas VIIIC SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. Kata kunci : Model Problem Based Learning (PBL), Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Kemampuan Berpikir Logis.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the mathematical reasoning abilities, activities and motivation of students by applying the Visualization Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model. This type of experimental research with the design of the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The experimental and control classes were given a pretest and a posttest to see the difference in improvement between the two. The population in this study were students of class VIII and the sample was not chosen purely randomly, namely by cluster random sampling (random class) and two classes were chosen. Data analysis using statistical tests namely Mann Whutney U-Test and descriptive analysis in the form of a percentage formula and the average score. The results of data analysis show that: (1) There is a difference in the increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities, and the increase in the experimental class is higher than the control class; (2) Student learning activities in each indicator are in the very high category and the overall average is 88.075%; (3) The average student motivation in each indicator is in the high category and the overall student average is 4.00.Keywords: Visualization Auditory Kinesthetic, Reasoning, Activity, Motivation

Abstract

Over the past century, there has been a dramatic increase in worldwide research.  However, these rapid increases are also arising problems or difficulties faced by the university students. Therefore, this research was carried out to reveal the types of those difficulties faced by students of STKIP Pacitan PGRI in solving the two-factor experiment tests in the design of experiment subject and the factors which cause these difficulties.  The researcher opted the qualitative descriptive design to the qualified research findings. Moreover, the samples, 15 students, were randomly taken from the total population or 93 students who attended the lectures. The technique of collecting the data employed both written test and interview of the researched subject. Based on the research findings, the students were difficult in determining the source of variance (SV), the degrees of freedom (df), the Expected Mean Square (EMS), the F value. Briefly speaking, the students were difficult in the process of calculating. While, the factors that caused the difficulties were in distinguishing the state of R, drawing a conclusion from all these factors, determining the number of r (replicate), determining the removed part from EMS, being careless in equalizing the line of numerator and denominator candidate, being unable to develop formulas, and careless in the calculation. Keywords: kesulitan, rancangan, faktorial

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat manakah yang lebih baik antara prestasi mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan,melihat manakah yang lebih baik antara prestasi mahasiswa dengan motivasi tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, dan pada masing-masing kategori motivasi mahasiswa, prestasi manakah yang lebih baik antara laki-laki atau perempuan.  Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan faktorial 2x3. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes prestasi belajar matematika dan  angket motivasi. Dalam penelitian ini analisa data yang digunakan adalah dengan analisis variansi dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Selain itu digunakan uji prasarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Semua pengujian dibantu dengan software SPSS 16. Hasil penelitiannya adalah prestasi mahasiswa perempuan sama dengan prestasi mahasiswa laki-laki pada pembelajaran teori peluang. Prestasi mahasiswa dengan motivasi tinggi sama dengan prestasi mahasiswa dengan motivasi sedang atau rendah pada pembelajaran teori peluang. Dan pada masing-masing kategori motivasi mahasiswa, prestasi mahasiswa perempuan sama dengan mahasiswa laki-laki pada pembelajaran teori peluang. Kata Kunci: Motivasi, jenis kelamin, prestasi

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. One way to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities is with the CTL learning approach. The purpose of this research is: 1) to know whether the average ability of mathematical problem solving of students who get learning with CTL approach is higher than the average problem-solving abilities of mathematical students who obtain conventional learning; 2) to find out whether the average mathematical problem-solving ability of the students who acquired the learning with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is higher than the minimum criterion value (KKM). This research type is quasi-experiment. The research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Simpang Renggiang, East Belitung Regency in the academic year 2015/2016. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling. The sample in this research is class VII. 2 as the experimental class and class VII.3 as the control class. The research instrument used is a valid test instrument in the form of a matter of pretest and posttest in the form of a description. Data were analyzed using a non-parametric statistic test. The results of the research have shown that the average problem-solving ability of students who acquire mathematics learning with CTL approach is better than students who follow the conventional mathematics learning, the average problem-solving ability of mathematical students who gain learning with CTL approach less than or equal with KKM. Keywords: Mathematical problem solving, CTL approach, quasi-experiment, cluster random sampling

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop module Calculus 1 based on the problem based learning that valid, practical, and effective in Calculus 1 at Information Engineering of STMIK Duta Bangsa. This research is development research using 4D model. The steps are defined, design, develop, and disseminate. The define steps are syllabus and textbook analysis, review of the literature, and interview about lesson and college student about learning in the classroom. The design step is the design of workbook. The developing steps are consists of validation, praktikalitas, and effectiveness. After designed, the workbook will be validated by the validator. At the praktikalitas step, workbook was tried out to students semester 1  of Information Engineering in STMIK Duta Bangsa. This event will be observed by an observer. The effectiveness of workbook observed at the same time with praktikalitas steps. The effect that observed were the activities and student learning outcomes. The technique of collecting data was done by validation sheet, observation sheet, field notes, and an interview. The data were analyzed using the descriptive set. The dissemination step was spread of the product. The outer of this research is a prototype, model, module of Calculus 1 and national journal publication. The result showed that the module of Calculus 1 was having validity very valid by content and construct. According to observation and interviews, note showed that module Calculus 1 was already practical and easy to used by students. The module of Calculus 1 is effective according to the study and observation activity students. This research was indicated that by using modules can improving activity and learning outcomes students.Keywords: module, problem-based learning, Kalkulus 1

Abstract

AbstractThe ability to think mathematically creative is one of the competency standards for graduate students at the vocational level. Based on the results of previous studies said that the mathematical creative thinking ability of vocational students is very low and the interview of researchers in several mathematics teachers in Pekanbaru vocational school said that Pekanbaru vocational students were accustomed to mathematical problems according to the teacher's example and it was recognized that teachers lacked daily problems. This study aims to determine the mathematical creative thinking ability of vocational students in Pekanbaru City in row and series material. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instrument used was a mathematical creative thinking ability test with 4 indicators namely fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. Questions in the form of a breakdown test were taken from the SMK National Exam question bank and given to 36 students of class X TKJ-2 SMKN 2 Pekanbaru. From the test results it can be concluded that the percentage of mathematical creative thinking ability of SMKN 2 students is at the ability to think creatively enough at 42%. Where the fluency indicator is 56%, the indicator of Authenticity (originality) is 38%, the Elaboration indicator is 46% and the indicator of Flexibility is 28%.Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir kreatif Matematis, Barisan dan Deret

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model PMRI dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif untuk peningkatan keterampilan berfikir matematis siswa. Melalui pembelajaran matematika, siswa diharapkan memiliki kemampuan berfikir logis,  analitis, sistematis, kritis, dan kreatif, serta memiliki kemampuan bekerjasama. PMRI adalah model pembelajaran yang bertitik tolah dari hal-hal yang real bagi siswa, menekankan keterampilan “proses of doing mathematics”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis penelitian Quasi-Experimental, dimana kelas kontrol diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran matematika melalui model kooperatif, sedangkan kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan model PMRI. Berdasarkan Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta untuk rata-rata nilai post test berfikir matematis kelompok eksperimen adalah 83.22 sedangkan untuk kelompok kontrol 58.58. Sedangkan di SMP Negeri 16 Yogyakarta nilai post test berfikir matematis kelas eksperimen sebesar 75.65, dan kelas kontrol 54.45. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kritis menggunakan uji t (independent samples T-Test) diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,000 dengan taraf signifikan 2%, diperoleh kesimpulan Ho ditolak, sehingga terdapat hasil perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen setelah dikenakan Model PMRI. Berdasarkan uji pengaruh model pembelajaran masing-masing diperoleh t hitung di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta 0,292 dan SMP Negeri 3 Yogyakarta 0,346 dimana semua nikai tersebut lebih besar dari t tabel, sehingga Ho dengan hipotesis terdapat pengaruh model PMRI terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berfikir matematis.Kata kunci: Model Kooperatif, Model PMRI, Kemampuan Berfikir Matematis
