Abstract

Analysis of Final semester examination items in the Basic Science Concepts course using the Rasch model has not been widely carried out, even though analyzing subject matter test items is a reflection of education and a noble task that can be carried out by educators in order to perfect and improve the quality of the tests they make themselves. The Rasch model is chosen so that the quality of the items does not depend on the test taker's ability to respond to answers. This study aims to describe the quality of the items from the Final Semester Examination on Basic Science Concepts course using the Rasch model. In this research used descriptive method. Data were collected through a documented study of 10 multiple choice questions in the form of answer sheets from 42 (6 male; 36 female) students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) at a state university in Ambon. The Rasch model with the help of the Winstep software program is used in analyzing the items. The results showed that a number of items according to the Rasch model with test reliability were in the high category. Existing results can be used by lecturers as diagnostic material for achieving student knowledge competence and improving lectures.

Abstract

The global Covid-19 pandemic has had a variety of impacts on the education sector including the deepening of the learning process. The college has transformed initially face-to-face learning activities into distance learning using online learning platform. However, the design of the platform used is still less varied from the type of media and learning applications, where lectures should be able to provoke motivation and the active role of students. This research aims to find out the feasibility results of interactive multimedia and online quiz based on integrated gamification learning system in supporting thematic learning courses. This study used a research and development approach, specifically the ADDIE development model design by Branch (2009). The research subjects are 2nd semester students who will take Thematic Learning courses in Elementary School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and  Universitas PGRI Palembang. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis. The results showed that the validation results of media experts obtained a score of 3.88 with good categories and material expert validation obtained a score of 3.89 with a good category. Then the results of student responses to interactive multimedia products and online quiz based gamification at the time of the limited trial which included one to one trial obtained a score of 3.50 with a good category, small group trail obtained a score of 3.69 with a good category, and the field trial received a score of 3.95 with an very good category. Thus interactive multimedia and online quiz based gamification integrated LMS in thematic learning courses are said to be feasible and can be used in increasing student motivation and interaction in the lecture process.

Abstract

This research describes the Sariswara Method and syntax development in Accommodating Student Diversity. This research was conducted at Kemudo 3 Elementary School. It used observation, interviews, and questionnaires as data collection techniques. The research method used is Research and Development. The method developed used the 6 steps of Borg Gall development by Sugiyono (1) research and collecting information, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) expert validation, (5) product revisions, (6) and limited trials. The results of this research and development method indicate that the Sariswara method and syntax have been successfully developed. The feasibility score is a "Good" (2.8 average score) from the method validator, a "Very Good" (3.6 average scores) from the material validator, and a "Very Good" (4.0 Average score) from the teacher. The limited trial showed a "Very Good" response (86%) from students. Therefore, novelty in this research about developing the Sariswara method in the form of syntax accommodating the diversity of students in thematics learning in IV grade is feasible and can help students learn thematics material.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the pragmatic function of an Indonesian language teaching in Australia and describe the speech act strategies used by foreign teachers to teach Indonesian in Australia. It employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to the pragmatic function construction in the classroom context. The data are negatively-constructed speeches of a teacher and students who join an Indonesia language learning program, The Apec Lesson Study Project, in Australia. Data are collected through documentation with extended techniques, listening, and recording. Meanwhile, the data are analyzed by using a method of padan pragmatics. The research results show that the pragmatic functions in Indonesian language teaching in Australia can be estimated into various categories and subcategories of speech acts: (1) combinative speech act, manifested into sub-speech acts asking-praising; and (2) directive speech act, manifested into sub-speech acts asking. These findings show how materials, methods, techniques are combined with speech constructions that are appropriate to the student's level. Meanwhile, the speech act strategy used by foreign teachers is a direct literal speech act strategy.
