Abstract

This paper aims to explain the concept of Tarkib Isnadi in Arabic grammar and describe the equivalent concept and its components in Indonesian grammar. In the realm of Arabic grammar, Tarkib Isnadi is a core component in the structure of clauses or sentences in Arabic. A good understanding of Tarkib Isnadi in Arabic and its equivalent in Indonesian will make it easier for Arabic learners (L2) who come from native Indonesian speakers (L1) to identify clause and sentence structures in various Arabic discourses. The methods used in data analysis in this study are distribution and identity-referential methods. Based on observations, it is found that the concept of Tarkib Isnadi in Arabic has a concept equivalent to a clause in Indonesian because both have the core constituents or pillars of the sentence. On the other hand, there are also some differences in the concept of Tarkib Isnadi in Arabic with the concept of clauses in Indonesian. The difference mainly lies in terms of the formation of the concept and the filling components of their syntactic functions.

The moral messages implied in these poems they are about the primacy of seeking knowledge and science, the primacy of reasoning, the primacy of silence, keeping away from greedy, and patient with all kinds of insult.

Abstract

Abstract

This article is aimed to discuss and explain about the letter (particle) “An” in Arabic grammatical thought. In general, this letter may be understood by many Arabic language students (as a second language) as only one of subjunctive particles (an-nawashib). On the one side, this understanding is correct due to this particle is widely used as the subjunctive particle that could change the indicative mood of imperfect verb (al-fi’l al-mudhari’ al-marfu’) into the subjunctive one (al-fi’l al-mudhari’ al-manshub). However, on the other side, this particle is also actually used in other grammatical functions, including: as a particle of explanation (interpretation), as the reduced form of “Anna”, as an additional particle (which is has an affirmative meaning), or as a particle in the sense of “Idza”. It is expected that this explanation will increase students' knowledge and understanding of this simple particle in the study of Arabic grammar. Keywords: Letter (Charf) “An”; Particle of Subjunctive; Grammatical Function; Arabic Grammar

Abstract

One of the government’s efforts to improve the quality and professionalism of teachers, especially Arabic teachers, is the implementation of an in-service Teacher Professional Education Program (Pendidikan Profesi Guru – PPG). During the program, teachers also learn to develop lesson plans (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran – RPP). Errors were reported in the lesson plans prepared by teachers of Arabic Language as PPG participants during the teaching practice at schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe those errors. By using a descriptive-qualitative design, this study revealed eight types of errors in the lesson plans, namely (1) ambiguity in the basic competence formulation, (2) GPA formulation that focused more on the process and not competence, (3) invalidity of the assessment instrument, (4) unspecific, non-operational, and unmeasurable formulation of GPA, (5) GPA formulation asynchronous with teaching and learning activities, (6) unclear formulation of teaching and learning activities, (7) unclear measurement of competence, and (8) domain misconceptions in the assessment.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper is aimed to revisit the existence terminology of Bid’ah Hasanah (Good Innovation) in the public and academic sphere as a counter discourse against the dominance of established meaning of Bid’ah which in terms of Islamic Sharia is interpreted as an act of misguidance (Bid’ah Dalalah). Counter discourse is a way of thinking that opposes an institutionalized discourse. In this context, we try to investigate the emergence of this term and describe how it is expressed as an opposing thought against the negative meaning of Bid'ah which was discursively long-established in the public and academic sphere by conducting the grounded approach. The data collected is taken from a mini survey and some specific discourses related to this topic such as the discussions in some chapters of the Islamic teaching textbook, and discourses from the online sources including social media and some websites affiliated with certain religious groups. The result shows that the terminology of Bid’ah Hasanah is emerged and echoed by traditional religious groups to label the non-exclusive worships (Ghairu Mahdhah) that originally don’t require any special rules in its implementation. According to them, this term is retrieved and interpreted from several Hadiths and the words of the Prophet’s companions. In the public and academic sphere, this term is still being roughly debated by some religious groups, mainly the Salafis and the traditionals, due to their differences in the methodology of meaning to this term. The Salafis prioritize the textual rigorous Sharia meaning contained in this term, whereas traditional parties put forward the literal and original meaning in understanding this term.

Abstract

This paper, in general, discusses the relation between the state and local religions in Indonesia. There is no doubt that Indonesia is one of the countries which has local religions or beliefs with a considerable number of followers, so that the state needs to protect of the followers of these religions. However, after the passing of the government regulation on the recognition of particular official religions in the country, various issues related to formally unrecognized religions began to emerge, including discrimination by the government, especially in administrative matters, as well as social discrimination by the community that denies their existence. Various methods are used by the state to minimize the discriminatory attitudes by issuing multiple regulations and policies, but still it is not considered satisfactory to satisfy all parties, especially those who have been discriminated.

Abstract

Since mid-2020, mostly caused by the Covid-19 outbreak which forced almost all academic activities involving massive participants to be cancelled due to health and safety reasons, the webinar suddenly became a very famous activity among learners. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the learners’ experience and perspective in this type of academic interaction, especially in Arabic webinar activity. Since this kind of interaction has become an upward trend that is applied massively by almost all institutions, observing it through a cross-sectional survey could be significant research. Thus, we use mixed (quantitative and qualitative-descriptive) methods to explore not only the perspectives of the participants but also to describe their experiences. It starts by providing data from survey results, classifying, analyzing, and presenting the analysis. Based on the recorded learners’ experience, it can be noticed that the Arabic webinars held by various Arabic language academies and institutions across the world were considered quite effective and efficient. Even though there are still many obstacles and shortcomings, especially from a technical point of view, this kind of web-based seminar can be one of the promising alternatives for Arabic learning when the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing. Most of the participants were satisfied with the performance of the Arabic language webinars they have participated in, indicated by a high score in the general assessment.
