Abstract

Bangga Village, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi is one of the villages that experienced flash floods. The impact is the problem of female reproductive health. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of health promotion using the menstrual hygiene pocket book in disaster situations on the knowledge of young women. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The research was conducted at the Youth Posyandu in June-July 2022. The study population was all young women aged 14-17 years in Bangga Village, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. The sampling technique is purposive. The sample size is 27 respondents. The research questionnaire consisted of 20 questions. Questionnaire measurements were carried out through pre-test and post-test on the same day. The statistical test used is Wilcoxon. The results of the study showed that the respondents' knowledge was lacking 3 (11%), 24 (89%) sufficient and 0 (0%) good. Knowledge of post respondents who lacked 0 (0%), enough 4 (15%) and good 23 (85%). The Wilcoxon test results obtained ρ-value = 0.000 (<0.05). The conclusion of health promotion using pocket books on menstrual hygiene in disaster situations increases the knowledge of young women in Youth Posyandu. It is hoped that there will be more menstrual hygiene pocket books in disaster situations and distributed to young women.

Abstract

Monday, July 13th, 2020, Flash floods and landslides have hit the Masamba area, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. The large number of victims and urgent needs and in order to ease the burden on the victims, the Academic Community of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu initiated a community service program in Masamba Regency. The purpose of this community service is to show the real action of the social care of the entire Civitas Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu to every disaster that occurs. The Humanitarian Aid Team of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu consists of 15 lecturers, staff and students of the Poltekkes Kemenkes palu. The method of implementing this service has four stages including planning to find funds, purchasing the needs of disaster victims, distributing assistance and the last stage, namely meeting the needs of victims. The aid was handed over by the Director of Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu, Palu through the Head of the Center for Research and Community Service to the Head of Disaster Prevention and Management Agency at the Emergency Response Command Post for Flash Floods and Landslides, North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province on July 21, 2020 at the Central Disaster Management Command Post. Masamba Regency, East Luwu, South Sulawesi. The provision of Humanitarian Aid can be carried out properly. Communities victims of Flash floods as beneficiaries have received the assistance. It is recommended for this activity more team members so that the distribution of aid is wider and provides more opportunities for students to get directly involved in humanitarian activities

Abstract

One touch stimulation that has a positive impact on babies is massage. Infant massage training can increase the knowledge and skills of cadres. The health cadres at Loli have never received training in healthy baby massage. The purpose of community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of health cadres through healthy baby massage training in Loli, Banawa District, Donggala Regency. The service method is a healthy baby massage training which will be held on June 22, 2022. The target of the training is health cadres, totaling 20 participants. The result of the training is an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants. Before the training 2 participants had good grades and 18 participants had less. After the training, the score was good 12 participants and less than 8 participants. Healthy baby massage training improves the knowledge and skills of health cadres in Loli, Donggala Regency. It is recommended that health cadres continue to practice healthy baby massage through the modules provided and the health center through village midwives supervise the implementation of healthy baby massage. ABSTRAK Salah satu stimulasi sentuh yang memberikan dampak positif bagi bayi adalah pijat. Pelatihan pijat bayi dapat meningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader. Kader kesehatan di Loli belum pernah mendapatkan pelatihan pijat bayi sehat. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader kesehatan melalui pelatihan pijat bayi sehat di Loli Kecamatan Banawa Kabupaten Donggala. Metode pengabdian adalah pelatihan pijat bayi sehat yang dilaksanakan pada 22 Juni 2022. Sasaran pelatihan adalah kader kesehatan yang berjumlah 20 peserta. Hasil pelatihan adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Sebelum pelatihan 2 peserta memiliki nilai baik dan 18 peserta kurang. Setelah pelatihan, nilai baik 12 peserta dan kurang 8 peserta. Pelatihan pijat bayi sehat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader kesehatan di Loli Kabupaten Donggala. Disarankan agar kader kesehatan terus berlatih pijat bayi sehat melalui modul yang diberikan dan pihak puskesmas melalui bidan desa melakukan pengawasan pelaksanaan pijat bayi sehat.

Abstract

Brandt Daroff method is one form of physical therapy or physical exercise vestibular to overcome vestibular disorders such as vertigo. Physical therapy is done to adapt themselves to disturbance of balance, Brandt Daroff Therapy and Epley Maneuver therapy is a vestibular rehabilitation as therapy that can be done independently at home for patients with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Physiologically, Brandt Daroff plays a role in the adaptation of the vestibular system and the Epley Maneuver plays a role in autolytic repositioning. Of the fifty subjects studied over the group of Epley and Brandt-Daroff maneuvers, each group of 25 people. Both homogeneous groups in terms of sex, age after follow-up showed that Brandt-Daroff therapy was 50% better than Epley's epilepsy. The results of research published by the Secretariat Department of Neurology FKUI (2016). Can be a reference to the success of an action, intervention, treatment or therapy performed. Research identifies. The Influence of Brandt Daroff Therapy on Rehabilitation on Salted Vertigo at Hospital Imelda Pekerja Indonesian Medan. The research design used was quasi-experimental research. With this research design is One group pre–Test and Post-test. The study respondents consisted of 30 vertigo clients and were taken using a nonprobability sampling technique. Data collection using observation instrument VAS (Visual Analog Scale) with paired t-test technique Pretest and Post-test. The results of this study indicate the presence of contact between Brandt daroff therapy on rehabilitation in vertigo patients at Hospital Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Medan. Analysis of paired t-test pre–Test and Post-test showed that at the level of significance p = 0,5 in.  Metode Brandt Daroff merupakan salah satu bentuk terapi fisik atau latihan fisik vestibuler untuk mengatasi gangguan vestibular seperti vertigo. Terapi fisik dilakukan untuk menyesuaikan diri terhadap gangguan keseimbangan, Terapi Brandt Daroff dan terapi Epley Maneuver merupakan rehabilitasi vestibular sebagai terapi yang dapat dilakukan secara mandiri di rumah bagi pasien Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Secara fisiologis, Brandt Daroff berperan dalam adaptasi sistem vestibular dan Manuver Epley berperan dalam reposisi autolitik. Dari lima puluh subjek yang diteliti selama kelompok manuver Epley dan Brandt-Daroff, masing-masing kelompok 25 orang. Kedua kelompok homogen dalam hal jenis kelamin, usia setelah tindak lanjut menunjukkan bahwa terapi Brandt-Daroff 50% lebih baik daripada epilepsi Epley. Hasil penelitian diterbitkan oleh Sekretariat Departemen Neurologi FKUI (2016). Dapat menjadi acuan keberhasilan suatu tindakan, intervensi, pengobatan atau terapi yang dilakukan. Pengaruh Terapi Brandt Daroff Terhadap Rehabilitasi Vertigo Asin Di Rumah Sakit Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Medan Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Dengan desain penelitian ini adalah One group pre–Test Dan Post test. Responden penelitian terdiri dari 30 klien vertigo dan diambil dengan teknik nonprobability sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen observasi VAS (Visual Analog Scale) dengan teknik uji t berpasangan Pretest dan Post test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya kontak antara terapi Brandt daroff pada rehabilitasi pada pasien vertigo di Rumah Sakit Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Medan. Analisis uji t berpasangan pre-Test dan Post test menunjukkan bahwa pada taraf signifikansi p = 0,5.

Abstract

Health education about stunting prevention using audiovisual media has never been done for pregnant women in the working area of the Wani Health Center. This study aims to Analyzing the effect of health education through audiovisual media on stunting prevention knowledge among pregnant women in the working area of the Wani Health Center. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest posttest design. The population is all pregnant women in four villages in the working area of the Wani Donggala Health Center, Central Sulawesi. The sample consist of 43 respondents. The instruments used were pretest, posttest 1 and posttest 2 questionnaires, with 21 statement numbers. Pre, post 1 and post 2 data collection was carried out at the village office and auxiliary health centers in four villages. Health education materials through audiovisual media is related to stunting prevention. Audiovisual is self-made using animation with a duration of 8 minutes and 12 seconds. Univariate analysis is the frequency distribution and bivariate with the Friedman test. The results showed that the average value of the pretest: 52.18, posttest 1: 71.722 and posttest 2: 90.86. Friedman test obtained a value of ρ 0.000 (<0.05). The conclusions is health education through audiovisual media in posttest 2 significantly increases knowledge of stunting prevention in pregnant women. It is hoped that health workers will increase the use of audiovisual media as a preventive effort to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Introduction: In 2021 there were 22,403 positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Central Sulawesi, 595 cases died, and 5,992 people underwent quarantine. The number who have confirmed positive in Palu City is 4,993 people. One of the areas at high risk of an increase in cases in Palu City is Pantoloan Village, which is a port area where passengers come and go from various regions. Health cadres and related organizations need to be empowered to increase socialization of the implementation of health protocols in the community to prevent Covid-19. Community service program activities by lecturers at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu aim to provide understanding to the public about the application of health protocols in an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the Pantoloan Village. The methods of this activity is carried out by providing counseling and education to implement health protocols so that the transmission of Covid-19 can be prevented with infocus media. Implementation of activities on July 12-13 2022. Participants in this activity totaled 30 people consisting of PKK cadres and mothers. The results show an increase in knowledge from the pre and post test with an average score of 60.80 to an average of 80.90. Suggestions for PKK cadres and women who have been educated together with the local government and community leaders to actively carry out health socialization or promotion related to the implementation of correct and routine health protocols, especially in the Pantoloan Village. For related agencies, it is necessary to educate the public regarding the spread of Covid-19, especially in areas prone to spread, such as in port and border areas.

Abstract

Pneumonia is an infectious disease that causes the biggest death of children worldwide. More than 800,000 children under five die each year from pneumonia. There has been no socialization about pneumonia and PCV immunization for toddler mothers in Uevolo Parigi Moutong Village. Purpose: To socialize pneumonia and PCV immunization to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers in Euvolo Village, Siniu District, Parigi Moutong Regency. Method: Community service is carried out by providing outreach through health counseling with banners about pneumonia and PCV immunization. The implementation of the activity was carried out at the Posyandu in Uevolo Village, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province on September 21 2022. The target of the dedication was 12 mothers of toddlers. Evaluation in the form of pretest and posttest which is measured on the same day. Results: Community service activities begin with a pre test. The opening question found that all of the mothers had never heard of pneumonia and PCV immunization. In the posttest, there was an increase in the knowledge of toddler mothers with an average value of 83. Conclusion: Outreach through health counseling with banners increases the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about pneumonia and PCV immunization. It is recommended that village midwives put up banners for pneumonia and PCV immunization at posyandu and other health services in the village.

Abstract

The preparation of individual equipment in reproductive health mitigation during disasters is not known by the community. The people of Sibalaya Village have never received education on reproductive health mitigation kits during disasters. The purpose of community service is to prepare the community in reproductive health mitigation during disasters in Sibalaya Village, Tanambulawa Sub-district, Sigi, Central Sulawesi. The service method is health education and demonstration on reproductive health mitigation kits. The service was carried out in North and South Sibalaya Villages, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, from October 19 to October 24, 2022. The target audience are pregnant women, mothers with toddlers, adolescent girls, and couples of reproductive age, with a total of 38 participants. The education media used a PowerPoint presentation with an LCD projector. Evaluation was conducted through pre and post-tests using a questionnaire. The service results showed that 100% of participants knew about the risk groups during disasters, >70% knew about the color of the kit, 92.11% knew about the contents of the kit, and 97.37% knew about the availability of transportation during referrals. The post-test was conducted by asking participants directly, and those who answered correctly were given a reproductive health mitigation kit as a prize. Two participants were able to demonstrate the use of the mitigation kit. The conclusion of the service is that there is an increase in knowledge, and participants can demonstrate the use of reproductive health mitigation kits. It is recommended to form a village reproductive health mitigation team and provide training.

Abstract

Introduction: The causes of stunting are maternal nutritional status, non-exclusive breastfeeding, low birth weight, and family income. This study aims to analyze the determinants of stunting among toddlers at Moutong Health Center in 2020. The research method used was cross-sectional. The study was conducted from March 3 to March 21, 2020, at Moutong Health Center, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi. The data used in this study were secondary data from 2020. The sample size consisted of 222 toddler respondents. Simple random sampling technique was employed. Data analysis was performed using chi-square test and odds ratio. The results of the study showed that the highest prevalence of stunting was found among pregnant women with low nutritional status (61.1%), non-exclusive breastfeeding (59.6%), low birth weight (55.9%), and low family income (68.2%). Chi-square test indicated that all variables had significant values (<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed an odds ratio of 4.5 for low birth weight and stunting. In conclusion, this study found that low birth weight had a 4.5 times higher risk of stunting. It is recommended that healthcare professionals conduct education, prevention, and early detection of stunting, monitor the provision of maternal and child nutrition programs to pregnant women and toddlers, and provide assistance to low-income families or those who are unable to afford proper nutrition.

Abstract

Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu has 131 authors on the Sinta Kemendikbud website. There are still many authors who have not had a sinta score in the last three years. The aim of the training in writing scientific papers for the academic community at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu is to improve the ability to write quality scientific papers. The activity was carried out on January 4-5 2023 in the meeting room of the Center for Research and Community Service, the Ministry of Health, Palu Health Polytechnic. There were 4 resource persons and 41 participants, Lecturers of the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Palu. The implementation method is through lectures, writing practice, practice using publish or perish and practice using Mendeley. The activity was held in the PPM Central Hall. The material is preparing scientific article manuscripts, practical writing of scientific articles, practice of citation of journal articles through publish or perish and publication using a letter of editor” is given. The results of the community service activities showed an increase in the publication of letters to editors by 14 articles published from 17 January to 5 May 2023. The conclusion of the activity was that participants were able to publish letter to editor articles. It is recommended that participants continue to practice writing skills and try to submit or publish manuscripts independently.
