Abstract

Understanding learner interaction in web based learning to improve English speaking skills in second grade classroom of SMAN 4 senior high school Bandar Lampung: using canvas learning management system, English Study Program, Teacher Training Faculty of Bandar Lampung University.The objective of conducting this research is to find out the interaction in Canvas Learning management system (LMS) in the speaking classroom and effects of using Canvas LMS to improve speaking skills. After it is confirmed that there is indeed necessity behind the action, I will explain concepts of interaction, Canvas LMS and speaking skills. The participants of this research are students in second grade of SMAN 4 senior high school. They are selected as data resource to know about interaction and effects of using Canvas LMS. From them, I retrieve data to be analyzed. By giving questionnaire, observing and conducting independent sample t-test method gives me some findings to discuss. The results show that there is indeed necessity in doing English speaking lessons in Canvas LMS. Moreover it is about students’ interaction and effects to improve English speaking skills. First is about interaction, it is the main ingredient in any kinds of learning methods. There are three main types introduced my Moore (1989), there are learner-instructor, learner- learner and learner-content. Those types necessary appear in web based learning. These interactions lead to improve students’ speaking skills too.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara deskrptif pengaruh profitabilitas, likuiditas, dan leverage terhadap financial distress pada perusahaan property dan real estate yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perusahaan property dan real estate yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan jumlah 24 perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari website Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Analsis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terlhadap financial distress perusahaan property dan real estate, likuiditas berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap financial distress perusahaan property dan real estate, leverage berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap financial distress perusahaan property dan real estate yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia.

Abstract

This research describes the use of audio-visual assisted text to improve students’ pronunciation. In other words it is to find out whether audio-visual assisted texts are effective to improve students’ pronunciation or not. The subjects of this research were the second semester students of English Education Study Program in Bandar Lampung University. The instruments used for collecting data were tests consisted of pretest and posttest. The data analysis of this research was quantitative. The finding of the research revealed that there was significant improvement in using audio-visual assisted text to improve students’ pronunciation. It could be seen from the students’ achievements of pretest and post test. Students’ achievement in posttest was higher than in pretest. Based on the research, it was found that the use of audio-visual assisted text was effective to improve students’ pronunciation. Therefore, it was suggested to use audio-visual assisted text as a media in teaching English generally and teaching pronunciation particularly.

Abstract

Daily usage of a language leads people to understand more about how the language is produced. The different understanding of a language leads to a different interpretation of the people who use it or even listen to it. Analyzing a human language is very important to minimize the miscalculation of the aspects inside the language. Letters which form a word and words or phrases which form a sentence are the parts that need to be examined. The analysis of those parts can be done in many ways. This paper presents three of many ways to analyze a sentence. They are traditional grammar, Immediate Constituent (IC) analysis, and X-bar theory. How the analysis works in understanding a sentence will be accompanied by a few examples that make them clearer. The paper will find out the weaknesses and the strengths of those analyzed through the explanations and examples.

Abstract

This research aims to know the condition of learner autonomy in blended learning speaking class and focus on measuring the first level of learner autonomy. The participants of this research were the students who took speaking class. They were the second semester students of English Language Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty in Universitas Bandar Lampung. The researcher collected the data from the questionnaire. 12 questions involved in the questionnaire have been proved to have high content validity and high reliability to measure the first of three levels of learner autonomy by Benson (2000). From the data, the researcher found that in blended learning speaking class, the students are in moderate level of autonomy in the context of interdependent level of control over learning management.

Abstract

Era big data menjadi sebuah fenomena yang menarik untuk di bahas oleh kalangan peneliti dan pengembang perangkat lunak, pengembangan aplikasi dan konsep pengelolaan data semakin banyak varian dan dukungan menjadikan kerangka big data dapat masuk kesetiap lini kehidupan, data yang tersusun baik secara singkronus maupun asingkronus, melibatkan mesin dan manusia dalam pengumpulan data menjadikan teknologi ini semakin sejalan dengan konsep Revolusi Industri 4.0 Dalam berbagai kajian di sajikan konsep dan kerangka kerja Big Data, dari kajian tersebut beberapa peneliti menyajikan lapisan dalam arsitektur Big Data, di mana masing masing lapisan memberi input bagi lapisan lain untuk dapat di olah menjadi bentuk yang siap saji di masyarakat, lapisan yang tediri dari pengumpulan data, penyimpanan data, pemrosesan data serta Analisa data, sehingga pada lapisan aplikasi penggunaan data dapat lebih maksimal di rasakan oleh pengguna. Dalam makalah ini di sajikan beberapa bahan studi literature yang di rangkum untuk mendapatkan penjelasan mengenai lapisan arsitektur Big Data yang dapat di kembagkan dan di terapkan pada bidang bidang penelitian lain

Abstract

Teknologi smartphone tidak bisa diremehkan keberadaan dan kemajuannya. Kemajuan yang ada banyak yang mendukung kelancaran dalam pendidikan. Tenaga dosen sebagai panutan para mahasiswa hendaknya mampu menggunakan segala aplikasi smartphone terutama aplikasi yang fiturnjang pelaksanaan pendidikan. Tujuan dari penggunaan aplikasi-aplikasi dalam pendidikan itu bertujuan agar pelaksanaan administrasi penilaian dan segala hal yang berhubungan dengan absensi mahasiswa dapat disimpan secara online atau paperless. Hal ini sangat berguna dan secara langsung mengurangi penggunaan kertas.Selain pengurangan penggunaan kertas, penggunaan teacher kit dapat membuat dosen baik guru maupun dosen lebih efisien dalam mendata keseluruhan kegiatan di dalam kelas. Semua data absensi, nilai, keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam kuliah maupun di luar kuliah disimpan langsung secara offline sehingga apabila terjadi kerusakan atau kehilangan akan gadget yang biasa digunakan, semua data tetap tersimpan dengan rapi dan utuh. Kegiatan ini membutuhkan waktu 2 (dua) semester atau 1 (satu) tahun sampai nilai yang diharapkan dapat dilihat oleh semua mahasiswa dan benar-benar tidak ada kesalahan.

Abstract

Pengelolaan terhadap kinerja dosen merupakan suatu upaya penting yang perlu dilakukan. Kompensasi merupakan satu dari sekian banyak cara dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja, motivasi, dan kepuasan kerja di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Salah satu sistem kompensasi tersebut dapat berupa pemberian penghargaan secara langsung.Namun pada prakteknya dalam penentuan penerima penghargaan ini sering kali tidak objektif salah satunya karena adanya kedekatan fisik maupun kedekatan emosi. Selain dirasa memang cukup sulit, penentuan penerima penghargaan ini terkadang terkendala karena tidak adanya approach yang terukur dan metode untuk membantu menentukan penerima penghargaan tersebut.Sebagai solusi permasalahan tersebut maka akan diterapkan algoritma Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) Tsukamoto yang akan digunakan untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan dalam penentuan pemberian penghargaan sebagai bentuk apresiasi kinerja dosen. Metode ini terdiri dari empat tahapan: pembentukan himpunan fuzzy (fuzzification), pembentukan rules (inference), aplikasi fungsi implikasi serta hasil output (defuzzification).Dengan menerapkan algoritma FIS Tsukamoto diharapkan dapat membantu memberikan keputusan siapa yang berhak dan pantas untuk menerima penghargaan sebagai bentuk apresiasi kinerja dosen yang paling sesuai dengan pemenuhan kriteria penilaian dan dapat memberikan hasil yang lebih akurat.

Abstract

To design a website, many website developers use the PHP programming language. Currently, the concept that is widely used in the development of an application is to use an object-oriented method approach or OOP. However, the design of the website is still long and requires a large amount of money if it is done from the beginning. For that, the right solution to design a website effectively and efficiently is to use a PHP framework. The purpose of this study is to analyze the comparison of a web that implements the Laravel framework with a web that implements native PHP based on lines of code, program code efficiency, speed, folder and URL structure, architecture, and web security. Each website is built using the MySQL database system, PHP7 as the native language, Laravel as the PHP framework, and Apache as the webserver.Abstrak - Untuk merancang sebuah website banyak developer website menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP. Saat ini konsep yang banyak digunakan dalam pengembangan sebuah aplikasi yaitu menggunakan  pendekatan  metode berorientasi  objek  atau  OOP.  Namun perancangan website tersebut masih termasuk lama dan memakan biaya yang cukup besar apabila dilakukan dari awal. Untuk itu solusi yang tepat untuk merancang sebuah website efektif dan efisien adalah menggunakan sebuah framework PHP.  Tujuan penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menganalisis perbandingan web yang mengimplementasikan framework Laravel dengan web yang mengimplementasikan PHP native berdasarkan baris kode, efisiensi kode program, kecepatan, struktur folder dan URL, arsitektur, dan keamanan web. Masing-masing web yang dibangun menggunakan sistem basis data MySQL, PHP7 sebagai native language, Laravel sebagai framework PHP dan Apache sebagai web server.

Abstract

This research described the use of TED Talks to improve students’ pronunciation. Moreover, it was to find outwhether TED Talks is effective to improve students’ pronunciation at the twelfth grade students of SMKMuhammadiyah Way Sulan. This research used experimental design in which attitudes were assessed both beforeand after an experimental treatment. The subject of the research was consisted of 60 students, they were dividedinto experimental and control group. The instruments used for collecting data were test which was consisted ofpretest and posttest. The data analysis of this research was attempted by using independent sample T-test whichwas calculated through computing with Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20. The resultindicated that the students’ mean score of experimental and control group in posttest were significantly different.It showed that t-count was higher than t-table (10,706 > 2,002) and the sig. 2-tailed value was lower than sig. level(0.000 > 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.It meant that there was effective impact of using TED Talks towads students’ pronunciation. In conclusion, usingTED Talks as a media was effective to improve students’ pronunciation. Therefore, it was suggested the use ofTED Talks as a media in teaching English generally and teaching pronunciation particularly.
