Abstract

Guru Desi merupakan tokoh utama dalam novel Guru Aini karya Andra Hirata yang digambarkan secara antagonis yang memilki karakter pemarah, ditakuti oleh muridnya, dan tidak memiliki sikap toleransi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dilakukan analisis dekonstruksi tokoh guru Desi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata-kata dan kalimat yang berkaitan dengan karakter tokoh guru Desi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan memanfaatkan alat bantu berupa buku-buku acuan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa berdasarkan hasil analisis dekonstruksi ditemukan bahwa guru Desi memiliki karakter penyabar, hal ini terlihat dari ketabahannya mengajarkan matematika pada Aini. Selain itu, guru Desi bukanlah guru yang ditakuti tetapi guru yang dikagumi karena kecerdasannya dan keteguhan prinsipnya. Toleransi guru Desi juga dapat ditemukan dari kesempatan yang diberikan oleh guru Desi kepada Aini untuk menjadi murid di kelasnya.Kata kunci: novel, tokoh, dekonstruksi, derrida

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of psychological problems described by the author in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF. The formulation of the problem in this study is, how are the psychological problems of the character Barra Sadewad in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF. In accordance with the formulation of the problem, the purpose of this study is to describe the psychological problems of the character Barra Sadewa in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF. The type and method of this research are qualitative research and descriptive methods of analysis. The data in this study are words and sentences related to psychological problems in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF. The results of this study indicate that in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF there are psychological problems experienced by the character Barra Sadewa. The psychological problems in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF are depression, obsession, anxiety, guilt, inadequacy, anger, hurt, dissatisfaction, and concern. Some of the psychological problems that occur in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF are depression which dominates the occurrence of psychological problems in characters. The cause of depression in the character in the novel Habibie Ya Nour El Ain by Maya Lestari GF is feeling disappointed with her life and presence which her parents did not want.

Abstract

Abstract: This study was generated from the problem of students’ ability in writing news texts ini class VIII, SMPN 1 Panti. Some of the problem were (1) lack of the students’ response towards news writing teaching and learning process, (2) lack of teacher’s creativity in designing interesting news sriting learning model, (3) no appropriate creative techniques applied by the teacher which could train the students to develop their skill in writing news texts, and (4) lack of the students’ motivation in participating in teaching and learning process because of their lack of understanding in the elements of news. Thus, this study was aimed at escribing the effect of the students’ ability ini writing news texts in class VIII SMP N 1 Panti. This was a quantitative research with factorial 2x2 experimental design. The population was the students in class VIII SMPN 1 Panti. Sampling technique wa done by using random sampling and the data was collected through questionnaire and test. The result of the study revealed that cooperative learning model with STAD mind mapping type affected the students’ ability in writing news texts. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa dalam menulis dengan menyajikannya dalam bentuk komik. Dalam proses pembelajaran menulis yang berlangsung selama ini, komik dijadikan sebagai media untuk merangsang kreativitas dan imajinasi siswa. Namun dalam kegiatan ini komik dijadikan sebagai produk atau hasil kegiatan menulis siswa yaitu dengan menampilkan tulisan dalam bentuk gambar yang memiliki tokoh latar dan alur sehingga mereka bisa menciptakan karakter dan isi cerita sendiri dengan gambar-gambar yang mereka senangi. Metode yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan dalam bentuk tahap-tahap atau fase-fase kegiatan selama empat minggu dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian dijabarkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, untuk indikator tokoh diperoleh hasil 80 persen siswa mampu menciptakan tokoh. Kedua, untuk indikator alur diperoleh hasil sebanyak 70 persen siswa mampu merancang alur. Ketiga, untuk indikator tema, sebanyak 90 persen siswa mampu menyesuaikan cerita dengan tema. Keempat, untuk indikator gambar dan penggunaan bahasa, sebanyak 70 persen siswa mampu memadukan bahasa dan gambar menjadi komunikatif.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of facebook users who express their discomfort with body shape and after further review, the discomfort expressed is included in the characteristics of people who have a tendency to anorexia nervosa. This study was conducted to describe the linguistic tendency of anorexia nervosa on facebook social media users, especially on the "MinuteVideos Indonesia" account based on the characteristics of anorexia nervosa tendencies seen from the form and meaning of the language conveyed. This type of research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data of this study is the linguistic expressiveness of facebook users who have anorexia nervosa tendencies in comments on the "MinuteVideos Indonesia" account. Data were collected using the free-of-charge listening technique (SBLC) and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed using the matching method and the agih method. Based on the results of the study found thirteen types of expressive speech acts used by Facebook users who have anorexia nervosa tendencies in comments on the "MinuteVideos Indonesia" account and each of these utterances has a referential meaning. The tendency of anorexia nervosa is dominantly experienced by women. However, from the data obtained there are also men who experience anorexia nervosa tendencies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the videos uploaded on Andre Taulany's youtube which tend to have the language of someone who has a narcissistic tendency. so that it can be seen from the expressiveness of the language. This research will be discussed in a psychopragmatic study. This approach is deliberately used to examine expressive speech acts that are motivated by a person's psychology and psychological factors such as one's desire, willingness and desire to get something. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The data in this study are the words conveyed by Andre Taulany in the video on his youtube account based on the number of views and comments. Data were collected by using listening and note-taking techniques. Data analysis using the matching method and the agih method. speech acts that convey the contents of Andre's thoughts or feelings that are expressed or shown through his expressive language. The utterances that Andre expressed through his expressive language lead to the characteristics of someone who has narcissistic tendencies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the following problems. First, students are still not skilled in writing the Observation Result Report text. Second, the difficulty in determining the existing structure in the text of the Observation Result Report. This study aims to describe the effect of using the Think Pair Share learning model on the Ability to Write Text on Observation Results of Class VII Students of SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusan. This type of research is quantitative research. The sample in this study were students of class VII SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusan, totaling 26 people. The data in this study were the score of the ability to write text on the Observation Result Report before using the Think Pair Share Model and the score for the ability to write the text of the Observation Result Report after using the Think Pair Share learning model for seventh grade students of SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusan. The results of this study can be concluded as follows. First, the ability to write a text report on the observation results of class VII students of SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusan before using the Think Pair and Share learning model obtained an average score of 74.35 with a qualification of more than more than enough (LdC). Second, the ability to write a text report on the observation results of class VII students of SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusans, after using the Think Pair and Share learning model, got an average score of 80.76 with good qualifications (B). Third, based on the results of the t-test, it was obtained tcount> ttable (2.18> 1.71). So, it can be concluded that the use of the Think Pair and Share learning model has an effect on the ability to write a text on the observation report of grade VII students of SMP N 5 Koto XI Tarusan

Abstract

Practical activities are carried out to prove a concept being studied. Practical activities following 21st-century learning are a form of learning change, initially centered on educators to become student-centered. Learning tools that are designed and planned according to students' needs certainly create interest so that they can build a productive learning environment. This study aimed to see the student's needs for developing learning tools based on interviews and questionnaires distributed to students who took Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. This type of research was Research and Development (R&D). This research was the initial stage of developing learning tools in Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. The needs analysis results obtained data of 46% stating that learning Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi can improve speaking skills. 39% of students stated that the journalistic practice module requires development; consequently, the journalistic activities' steps and work processes were structured. 37% of students read and used the module as a guide in journalism practice lectures. Furthermore, 42% of students stated the suitability of the activities of 16 meetings with the learning tools and course syllabus.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya tambahan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dalam bidang sastra di sekolah. Pembelajaran sastra,seperti menulis karya sastra memerlukan latihan agar siswa terbiasa menulis. Dalam hal ini dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pembinaan menulis karya sastra (puisi) secara daring. Kegiatan pengabdian secara daring dipilih karena situasi pandemi yang tidak memungkinkan untuk tatap muka. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMK Kartini Batam dilaksanakan pelatihan menulis karya sastra (puisi). Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan terbimbing sebanyak 4 tahap. Metode dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa hasil tes menulis puisi siswa SMK Kartini Batam. Berdasarkan hasil tes menulis puisi, kemampuan menulis puisi siswa SMK Kartini Batam sebelum pelatihan berada pada kualifikasi cukup (C) dengan rata-rata 63,81. Selanjutnya, kemampuan menulis puisi siswa SMK Kartini Batam setelah pelatihan berada pada kualifikasi baik (B) dengan rata-rata kemampuan 78,63. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa dengan adanya pelatihan.

Abstract

This study aims first to describe the vocabulary mastery of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra. Second, define the writing skills of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra. Third, describe the relationship between vocabulary mastery and writing skills of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra.This type of quantitative research with correlation method. The research population is class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra in 2021/2022. The sample in the study of students of class XI IPS 2 amounted to 34 people. This research data is the score of the objective test of vocabulary mastery and the score of writing lecture texts for class XI SMA 4 West Sumatra students. Based on the results of the study concluded as follows. First, the vocabulary mastery of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra obtained an average score of 71.38 in the range of 66-75% on a scale of 10, with qualifications more than adequate (LdC). Second, the writing skills of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra obtained an average score of 78.33 in the range of 76-85% on a scale of 10, with a qualification of Good (B). Third, there is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and writing skills of class XI students of SMA N 4 West Sumatra. Then the hypothesis is accepted because the test results prove that tcount from ttable is 2.39 1.70. This proves that vocabulary mastery is related to students' text writing skills.
