Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that often occurs in the elderly and will have an impact on the quality and quantity of life of the elderly, so it needs early treatment. SEFT therapy and taichong point acupressure are complementary therapies that can lower blood pressure in the elderly. The design in this research is descriptive statistics. The sample was taken by purposive sampling and obtained 30 respondents who were divided into 15 respondents each in the SEFT group and the taichong point acupressure group. Data were collected using observation sheets and analyzed univariately. The results of the research in the SEFT group showed that the pre-test systolic blood pressure was 164.00, the diastole was 94.67 and the post-test systolic blood pressure was 149.67, the diastole was 90.00. Whereas in the taichong point acupressure group, the pre-test systolic blood pressure was 153.33, the diastole was 93.33 and the systolic blood pressure post-test was 142.67, the diastole was 88.67. SEFT therapy and taichong point acupressure can be an alternative in reducing blood pressure in the elderly.

Abstract

Chephalgia is grievance that is often felt like discomfort in head, Chephalgia can bother activity and productivity. One of complementary therapy that can reduce Chephalgia is acupressure. This study aims to determine the effect of acupressure by family member on pain level of Chephalgia patient in Padang Panjang conducted february-September 2019. The study is an experimental design and a pretest-posttest with control group design with 116 of samples and it uses simple random sampling. Different levels of pain before and after the administration of acupressure by family members used the Wilcoxon test. Whereas to see the comparison of the intervention group and the control group used to test two different groups used the mann withney test.. Satistic test result get p value = 0.0000 that means there is significant effect between before and after acupressure on intervention group, but there is no significant effect on control group get p value = 0,771. This therapy acupressure is recomended for solving Chephalgia, it means that we can give nursing complementary therapy for minimizingC.

Abstract

People living with HIV (PLHIV) are group that have a weak immune system. In addition to HIV, the world is also facing the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of COVID-19 cases every time continues to increase until the current third wave. People living with HIV are a group that needs more attention in dealing with this pandemic. One way to initiate preventive action is to look at the perception of the protected aggregate. A person's level of alertness to an event can be seen from how they see the object to be perceived. Exploring the perception of people living with HIV can provide an overview of how they view and deal with COVID-19. This research use qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The selection of participants used purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique used the Colaizzi technique. There were ten themes found in this study, the views of people living with HIV on COVID-19, feelings of people living with HIV in dealing with COVID-19, awareness of differences in immune conditions and being a vulnerable group, belief in ARVs strengthening the body's immune system, views of people living with HIV on the risk of transmitting COVID-19, PLHIV's views on health protocols, activities that strengthen the immune system, social support, adaptation of Puskesmas services during a pandemic, PLHIV's perception of vaccination. The results of the study show that people living with HIV are a vulnerable population that needs more attention, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. Cooperation between health care workers and policy makers should be increased to reach and protect the population of PLWHIV.

Abstract

Excessive use of smartphones poses a risk of addiction, smartphone addiction will affect psychological health which has an effect on psychosocial disorders. Teenagers are a vulnerable period that easily accepts new cultures, smartphone technology culture is one that lurks teenagers. Objective: This study is to determine the differences in the risk of psychosocial disorders in adolescents with positive smartphone addiction with negative smartphone addiction. This research is a quantitative study with cross sectional design, data collection using the smartphone addiction scale (Short-version) questionnaire and pediatric symptom checklist (PSC-17), the population of adolescents in high schools in Sungai Penuh city, a sample of 350 people , the conscientious variable consists of the independent variable smartphone addiction and the dependent variable psychosocial disorders in adolescents. There was a difference in the risk of psychosocial disorders in adolescents, 60/25 men experienced psychosocial disorders (p = 0,000) OR 3,936. In adolescent girls 50/47 experience psychosocial disorders (0.004) OR 2,437. Teen positive smartphone addiction is at greater risk for experiencing psychosocial disorders

Abstract

Emotional feeling of men who have sex with men (MSM). This study showed the experience on facing the emotional feeling of men who have sex with man (MSM) after diagnosed having HIV with their partners. This study using qualitative approach with descriptive phenomenology design, the number of participant was 20 people, and getting by in depth interview. Secluding from society often done by people who diagnosed having HIV, asking the information about HIV and how to cure it and getting closer to God for healing. Caring the Men who have sex with man with HIV by more emphaty feeling.

Abstract

Introduction: People living with HIV are fully aware of their risk behavior and future threats that might arise. The rapid progress of HIV serves the population with many options of healthcare services and treatments. Insufficient knowledge and information will only lower the outcomes of HIV eradication efforts. The ultimate goals to eradicate HIV are to upscale status notification and treat all with appropriate antiretroviral and viral suppression, but it needs sufficient information to administer. Programs and interventions have already been proposed, but an inquiry is needed to ensure all the information is actually there. The study aimed to explore the experience of people living with HIV acquiring HIV-related information.Methods: This study used phenomenological qualitative study and in-depth interviews were conducted to 12 people living with HIV. Semi-structured questions were delivered to all participants which explored their tangible experience in terms of nurturing sufficient HIV-related information.Results: The study found four consequential themes:  non-government organizations play a major role in HIV education, peers are a comfortable platform to discuss, it is all over the media and healthcare personnel are a source of knowledge. Conclusion: The distribution of HIV information and knowledge is now widespread. This situation marks   part of the success in fighting HIV. Remarkable attempts can be maintained by optimizing the viable option of information delivery.  Keyword: HIV knowledge; people living with HIV; qualitative study

Abstract

Perubahan biologis, psikologis dan sosial pada remaja membuat remaja mengalami masalah kesehatan di masyarakat. Kemudahan akses internet saat ini membuat remaja lebih rentan terhadap kecanduan internet. Penelitian ini berfokus pada faktor yang mempengaruhi kecanduan internet seperti stres akademik, kelekatan keluarga dan kelekatan teman sebaya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan stres akademik, kelekatan keluarga dan kelekatan teman sebaya dengan kecanduan internet di SMAN “X” Padang. Desain penelitian menggunakan korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah remaja SMAN “X” Padang. Total sampel sebanyak 284 remaja. Responden direkrut menggunakan simple random sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan Pearson. Hasil untuk variabel stres akademik menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna, kekuatan hubungan kuat dan arah hubungan positif terhadap kecanduan internet (p = 0,000), variabel kelekatan keluarga menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna, kekuatan sedang dan arah hubungan negatif terhadap kecanduan internet (p = 0,000), sedangkan variabel kelekatan teman sebaya menunjukkan kekuatan hubungan yang sangat lemah, bermakna dan memiliki arah yang negatif dengan kecanduan internet (p = 0,000). Stres akademik memiliki pengaruh paling signifikan terhadap kecanduan internet pada remaja SMAN “X” Padang. Untuk mengelola stres akademik yang dialami siswa penting adanya layanan bimbingan dan konseling agar siswa mendapatkan bantuan menurunkan stres yang dialami siswa dan fungsi sebagai siswa dapat dioptimalkan.Kata kunci: stres akademik, kelekatan keluarga, kelekatan teman sebaya, kecanduan internet

Abstract

Self-management is an important component that will be integrated into the daily activity patterns of people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) to regulate blood glucose levels, reduce symptoms, and prevent complications. DM patients who live alone will face challenges and self-efficacy in self-management. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of diabetes mellitus patient living alone in self management performance. Qualitative research design, a phenomenological study was used in this study. The number of participants was six,  namely solitaire DM who have been diagnosed with DM for more than 1 year,  able to communicate well. The technique of taking participants was using purposive sampling  according to inclusion criteria. The main instrument is the researcher himself. Collecting data with in-depth interviews, observations and field notes. Data analysis using Colaizzi's method begins with making transcripts, determining categories, formulating sub-themes and themes. This study generaten 6 themes, namely diet management, experience of antidiabetic treatment, herbal treatment as the main choice, modification of physical activity around the house, blood sugar monitoring and personal wisdom in controlling blood sugar. proper use of antidiabetic drugs and herbal remedies. Implementation of home visits for DM sufferers who live alone can increase understanding of the use of antidiabetic drugs and appropriate herbal remediesKeywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Self Management, Solitaire

Abstract

Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease. Ischemic stroke occurs when a blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain is blocked by a blood clot. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family emotional support and the implementation of Continuity of Care for ischemic stroke patients in RSUP. DR. M. Djamil Padang. This research is a descriptive analytic cross sectional approach, sampling using a non-probability method with consecutive sampling technique, the sample is 123 according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection using a questionnaire with Cronbach's alpha is 0.8> 0.01. Data analysis using chi square test. The test results showed that most of them provided good family emotional support. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship with p <0.05 between family support for the implementation of Continuity of Care. Based on the research, it can be concluded that optimal family emotional support increases the implementation of Continuity of Care and has an impact on improving the quality of life of stroke patients.

Abstract

Disaster is unpredictable, there is no doubt disasters cause many catastrophic losses and devastating impacts. Disaster risk reduction (DRR) is now getting spotlight attention nationally and globally. Continual and progressive efforts shall be made to prepare people from the potential hazard that threaten. Disaster preparedness is essential to be considering, it have to be prioritized by the community before the occurrence of an unexpected disaster occur. The community readiness and hardiness will lower the impact caused by the disaster. The community resilience has to be developed and make a consistent progress to achieve optimal disaster risk reduction. Family is the smallest components in the community that shall be narrowed for the direct impact in community resilience achievement. The community outreach program through family disaster preparedness education aimed to improve family resilience of disaster preparedness. Disaster preparedness education for family members delivered by using expert lecture, discussion, disaster simulation and family disaster planning. Qualitative evaluation, simulation observation and designing family planning had been conducted to all family members participated. Disaster preparedness education showed an increased of disaster preparedness basic knowledge and awareness, fulfilling any disaster query and interactive experience of simulation method. 83% family members were performed community disaster drill properly. Family disaster planning had been arranged by the family members based on the priority to fulfill in immediate time. Disaster preparedness education mark as important effort to upscale the family resilience trough disaster preparedness.
