Abstract

The causes of work fatigue consist of several conditions, including working climate conditions, especially hot work climates and workloads. This study aims to analyze the workload and hot work climate on the incidence of work fatigue. The study used a cross-sectional design. The research population is all areca nut farmers in Sungai Tawar Village, Mendahara District, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency. The research sample amounted to 90 people who were taken using proportional strafied random sampling technique. Collecting data by observation, and using a questionnaire. Data processing was carried out univariate and bivariate using chi-square test at 95% confidence interval. The results showed that the workload (p = 0.003) and heatt work climate (p = 0.001) related to the incidence of work fatigue in areca nut farmers. It is recommended that areca nut farmers do stretching movements before work and use personal protective equipment such as hats, long shirts, trousers and boots in order to minimize the incidence of work fatigue.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health of workers in the informal sector, for example batik craftsmen, have a great risk of experiencing health problems due to work, one of the problems that is often encountered is the case of low back pain. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of exercise therapy and ergonomic seating design as an effort to control cases of low back pain (LBP) in batik craftsmen. The research is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. The population in this study were all batik craftsmen in Danau Teluk District as many as 30 people and were also used as research samples. The data will be analyzed using an unpaired T-test with (? = 0.05). The results of the study p value = 0.000 which still means that there are differences in cases of low back pain in batik craftsmen with the provision of exercise therapy (exercise). The conclusion of exercise therapy (exercise) is effective in minimizing cases of low back pain in batik craftsmen.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal complaints are complaints on the parts of the skeletal muscles that are experienced by a person with different levels ranging from very mild to very severe complaints. Musculoskeletal complaints cause pain, numbness, soreness, stiffness, tingling, swelling, tremors, sleep disturbances, as well as decreased work productivity and lost work time. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders in Batik Craftsmen. The population in this study were all 30 batik artisans in Danau Teluk District and were also used as research samples. Data will be analyzed using the chi-square test with (p = 0.05). The results showed that age (p=0.023), years of service (p=0.004), and work attitude (p=0.002) were significantly associated with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in batik craftsmen. And there is no relationship between gender (p = 1.000) with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in batik craftsmen. The conclusion in this study is that of the four variables studied, the variables associated with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in batik craftsmen are age, years of service, and work attitude. Abstract

Unhealthy behavior can lead to more serious problems such as the spread of infectious diseases. PHBS in schools includes actions taken by students, teachers, and the community around the school based on awareness of learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the difference in knowledge before and after being given counseling about PHBS for students at SDN 211/IV Jambi City. This quantitative study uses a true experimental pre-test and post-test control group design approach. The sample in this study was 60 respondents. The data in this study were analyzed using statistical tests, namely the Paired t-test and the Independent t-test. The results showed that the value of students' knowledge about PHBS before being given counseling was an average of 11.94 and the value of students' knowledge about PHBS after being given counseling was an average of 14.58. The results of the t-test showed that there was a difference in the average score between the pre-test and post-test of 2.64 and the value of p = 0.000 (p-value <0.05), meaning that there was a difference in students' knowledge before and after giving health counseling about PHBS in SDN 211/IV Jambi City. This study suggests that schools are encouraged to pay attention to students in terms of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) by including PHBS points in the material given to students.

Abstract

Epidemiologically, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) has symptoms such as pain, numbness or loss of sensation in the hands and tingling or feeling of needle puncture on the wrist. Sorting workers are workers who are at risk of developing complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between factors related to complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) in sorting workers at the Talang Gulo Landfill, Jambi City in 2022. This study used cross-sectional design quantifiable research. The population is all sorting workers in the sorting area of the Talang Gulo landfill in Jambi City totaling 34 people. The sample of this study was 29 respondents. . The analysis test used is the chi-square test. The results showed that respondents who experienced CTS complaints were 55.2%. The bivariate test results had a relationship between PR 7.89 age (95%CI 1.21-51.4), PR 3.05 repetitive movement relationship (95%CI 1.10-8.43), and there was a PR 2.43 working posture relationship (95%CI 1.02-5.77) with CTS complaints in sorting workers. There was no relationship in nutritional status of PR 0.74 (95%CI 0.35-1.56). The variable length of work cannot be carried out the analysis test because the results of the univariate analysis test are homogeneous.
