Abstract

ABSTRACTCervical uterine cancer is a deadly tumor attacking the cervix uteri. In Indonesia, cervix uteri cancer constitutes the most aggresive and deadly cancer. Frequently, combinations of several different drugs are used for treating this disease. The purpose of this study was to find out the stastisticts and kind of drug interactions hospitalized in Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang for cervix uteri cancer in 2007. This study was a non-experimental research conducted retrospectively. The research was implemented to the medical records for cervix uteri cancer patients hospitalized in Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Data obtained were analysed with descriptive non-analytic method. The result of this study showed that 96 in-patients of cervix uteri cancer, 55 patients (57,29 %) had drug interactions, while 41 patients (42,7 %) had not drug interactions. From a total number of 149 cases, 134 cases (89,93 %) had drug interaction, while 15 cases (10,07 %) had not drug interaction. Based on the types of interactions, 6 patients (4,48%) had pharmakokinetic interactions and the other 128 patients (95,52 %) had unknown mechanism drug interactions. The most drugs producing interactions were midazolam and propofol. Key words : Drug Interactions, Cervix Uteri Cancer, Cer, Dr. Kariadi Hospital.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Senggugu (Clerodendrum serratum) is one of the potential plants as the source of natural antioxidant. Traditionally, some Asian countries, as well as Indonesia, has been applied this plant for treatment in various diseases. The leaf and stems of Clerodendrum pholimidis and Clerodendrum viscosum that are the same genus with senggugu indicated that they are potential as an antioxidant. The Senggugu plants growing in India, China and Malaysia have been reported that the extracts of the plant are also active as an antioxidant. The objective of this work is to study antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate extracts of the senggugu root-stem collected from Imogiri, Yogyakarta. The extract was obtained through sequential maceration technique using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol solvents. The antioxidant activity of the extract was then examined by DPPH (2,2-dipphenyl-1-pycryl hydrazyl) and rutin as the standard antioxidant. The results showed that the ethyl acetate extracts of root-stem of the senggugu have antioxidant activity property with IC50 of 30.968±0.686 μg/mL and IC50 of 1.741±0.091 μg/mL for rutin as the standard antioxidant. Abstract

ABSTRACTPeople used noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.)for medication many kinds disease, one of as anthelmintic. Worm infection most generally in the world, especially in growing countries including indonesia. To prove the truth were efficacious noni leaf as anthelmintic has been research anthelmintic capability ethanol extract of noni leaf on the worm Ascaridia galli on in vitro. This research has done by using Lamson and Brown method submerges that has been modified. Research using 270 of worms A. galli female, that devided into 9 groups, that’s 4 groups treatment with ethanol extract of noni leaf in consentration of 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL, 4 groups positive control (citrate piperazin) consentration 2 mg/mL, 4 mg/mL, 6 mg/mL dan 8mg/mL and I group negative control (NaCl 9 mg/mL) each group consist of 6 petri disc (each petri disc contain 5 of worms and 25 ml solution). Anthelmintic capability showed with worm mortality time that’s observed every 2 hours and LC50 that needed consentration to wipe out 50% of worm. The result of this research shown rates worm mortality time after submerges with ethanol extract of noni leaf consentration 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL as hight as 48,00 ± 1,79 ; 44,33 ± 1,51; 40,33 ± 1,51; 36,00 ± 2,53 (hours). But after submerges with citrate piperazin 4 mg/mL is 34,33 ± 1,51 (hours). LC50 after submerges ethanol axtract of noni leaf is 50,21 mg/mL and after submerges 2,27 mg/mL. The result of the observed Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) shown ethanol extract of noni leaf containes compounds from flavonoid and fenol. Based on result of the reseach would be concluded that ethanol extract of noni leaf contain compounds that calculate have anthelmintic activity, possibilty that’s compounds is flavonoid and fenol. Keyword : Morinda citifolia L. , anthelmintic, submerges of Lamson and Brown.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCustard apple (Annona squamosa L.) is one of efficacious medical plant that often used by local community for constipation, insectiside, carbuncle, scabies, gastrointestinal problem such diarrhoea, dysentery and anthelmintic. In Indonesia, worm disease is infection disease that still high prevalention. Although modern anthelmintic is in stock, but still common community is to use medical plant, specialy custard apple for therapeutic worm disease. The aim of this research was to deterinate anthelmintic capability of ethanol extract of seed custard apple on the worm Ascaridia galli on in vitro. This researches were pure experimental by using Lamson and Brown method submerges that have been modified by using 270 of worm femele, that devided into 9 groups treatment, which was 4 groups for ethanol extract of seed custerd apple in concentration of 10 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL, 4 positive control groups (citrate piperazinae 2 mg/mL, 4 mg/mL, 6 mg/mL, 8 mg/mL) and negative control group (NaCl 9 mg/mL). Each group consist of 6 petri disc and each petri disc contain 5 of worm and 25 mL solution. Anthelmintic capability is measurement observed is the mortality time rate of the worm and value LC50, that is concentration is needed for killing 50% worm population and than analysed date by one way ANOVA and continued by Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The research result, shown that mortality time rate of worm after submerges by ethanol extract of seed custrad apple in concentration 10 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, and. 40 mg/mL is 43,33; 38,00; 37,66 and 34,33 hours. Exactly after submerges by citrate piperazinae 4 mg/mL shown mortality time rate of worm is 34,33 hour. LC50 value of ethanol extract of seed custard apple and piperazinae citrate at 12th hour is 36,94 mg/mL and 2,26 mg/mL. Result Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) shown seed custard apple containes compounds such as from alkaloid, flavonoid and tanin. That compounds is posibility efficacious anthelmintic. Keywords : Annona squamosa L., anthelmintic, Lamson and Brown method submerges.
