Abstract

Abstract: The research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics learning outcomes with applied the cooperative learning type of think pair square (TPS). The subject of the research is students of class VIII5 SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015. There are 38 students in the class, consist of 17 boys and 21 girls who have heterogeneous academic ability. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle of daily tests carried out. Data collected through observation and tests in the form of daily tests. Data analysis was performed with narrative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Results of this research showed that the teacher’s activities and students have done well after doing the action. Most of students were excited and active in learning process. Such as while they were doing the steps of learning, presenting students’ worksheet or questions, responding the friend’s presentation and giving the conclusion of learning. The action is successful if the number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria increase in daily tests I and II. The number of students who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria on basic, daily test I (first cycle) and daily test II (second cycle) are respectively 36.8%, 42.1%, and 71.05%. Results of this research indicates that the cooperative learning structural approach type of think pair square can improve learning process and students' mathematics learning outcomes math class VIII5 SMP Negeri 11 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Think Pair Square, Class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to improve learning process, improve attitude toward learning mathematics and mathematics learning outcomes students of class VIII.2 SMP Negeri 5 Tambang in the first semester academic years 2015/2016 by implementing structural approach to cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The research are two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the end of each cycle, daily tests are carried out. Data collected through observation, attitude questioner towards learning mathematics and tests in the form of daily tests. Observation is used to collect teacher and student activities during learning process, test is used to collect mathematic outcomes. Questioner attitude toward learning mathematics given before and after the action to collect the data of attitude toward learning mathematics and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results show the activity of teachers and students in learning has been in line with the lesson plan. Most of the students have participated activity and be positive in the learning process. The result show that improvement in students learning outcomes was 35,71% on the basic score became 71,42% in the first cycle and 88,71% in the second cycle. basic Analyze questioner attitude towards learning mathematics for all indicators and for each indicator based on testing criteria Ho is rejected in the other word of attitude towards learning mathematics student, increased after the actions. Results of this research indicate that the application of Structural Approach to Cooperative Learning Model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) can improve learning process, improve attitude toward learning mathematics and improve the mathematics learning outcomes math class VIII.2 SMP Negeri 5 Tambang in the first semester academic years 2015/2016.Keywords: Learning outcome, Attitude toward learning mathematics, Cooperative learning, Numbered Heads Together.2

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is mathematics learning outcomes to low. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII.7 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year with the subject of as many as 40 students. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research is the Syllabus, RPP and LKS. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis of quantitative data. Based on the data analysis, the percentage of students who achieve KKM on base score is 17 students with a percentage of 42.5% and increased in Kuis I of 21 students with a percentage 52.5% and also an increase in Kuis II at 26 students with a percentage 65%. So, result of the research showed that, the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII.7 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru also increased after applying the Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach. Cooperative Learning with Think Pair Square Approach can be used as an alternative in learning, because it can improve the learning process and improve the student mathematics learning outcomes.Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square Approach, Learning Process, Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical understanding skill by applying Discovery Learning (DL) model. This research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. This research was conducted in class X science 2 MAN 1 Kuantan Singingi in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018 to 27 students. The required data are qualitative and quantitative data. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Student Activity Sheets) and instruments for collecting data (Observation Sheets and Mathematical-Understanding Tests). Qualitative data were collected by observation technique and analyzed by descriptive narrative analysis. Quantitative data were collected by test technique and analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis. Based on the analysis of the observation sheets showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Result of the test indicates that the student’s learning achievement for the first is 40,4 improved in cycle I to 60,2 and improved to 89.62 in cycle II. The improvement of student’s learning achievement founded for each indicator of mathematical understanding skill: redefine the concept, provide examples and not examples the concept, and applying concepts to solve the problem. This study concludes that the implementation of DL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical understanding skill at class X science 2 MAN 1 Kuantan Singingi in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018.Key Words: discovery learning, mathematical understanding skill, learning process

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of students by applying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the student of class XI MIA 1 SMAN 5 Pekanbaru at odd semester of academic years 2018/2019 wich total number of participant are 36 students, consists of 17 male students and 19 female students with heterogeneous academic achievement. This research have two cycles, each have four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instrument consist of learning materials used include Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Work Sheets and instruments for collecting data are observation sheets and test of mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive narrative analysis and descriptive statistics analysis. From the analysis of observation sheets, it can be seen that there is improvement of learning process. The precentage and frequency of student who achieved minimum completeness criteria is increased from the basic score with percentage 47,22% (17 students) to cycle I with percentage 80,55% (29 students) and 88,89% (32 students) in cycle II. This research concludes that the implementation of PBL model improved the learning process and the student’s mathematics learning outcomes at class XI MIA 1 SMAN 5 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the academic year 2018/2019Key Words: The outcomes of mathematics learning, Problem Based Learning,class action research

The subject of this research is student of class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru in academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 36 students, consist of 17 boys and 19 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria of knowledge increase from basic score to quiz-I and quiz-II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (16,7%) to the first quiz (44,4%) to the second quiz (55,6%). For the skills of basic score the first quiz (30,6%) to the second quiz (50%), thus it can be concluded that the application of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru in academic years 2017/2018 for the subject rational and irrational inequalities and linear equations of three variables.Key Words: Students’ Mathematic Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to develop mathematics learning device for junior high school that are Syllabus, Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) curriculum 2013 on subject statistics and probability by used problem based learning model. This research use development model by Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono (2008). Development is done through the following steps: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) design products: (4) validation; (5) revision of design; (6) small group trial; (7) revision of product; (8) large group trial; and (9) revision. At the stage of potentials and problems, the researchers conducted potentials and problems analysis. Then, researcher collect the necessary materials to design learning device. Learning device that had been developed then validated by three validators and revised based on the input from validators. The valid learning device then tested in the small group trial with subjects are eight students of class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru and revised based on input from the students. Then, tested in the large group trial with subjects are 39 students of class VII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru and revised based on input from the students. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the mathematics learning device for junior high school curriculum 2013 on subject statistics and probability by using problem based learning model are valid with value for the Syllabus is 3.39, value for the LP-1 is 3.42, value for the LP-2 is 3.41, value for the LP-3 is 3.41, value for the LP-4 is 3.40, value for the LP-5 is 3.40, value for the SW-1 is 3.38, value for the SW-2 is 3.32, value for the SW-3 is 3.32, value for the SW-4 is 3.32, value for SW-5 is 3.32, and is practical to use by students of junior high school.Key Words:Mathematics Learning Device for Junior High School, Curriculum 2013, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning, Statistics and Probability

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This study aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments with problem based learning’s model on cubes and cuboids for 8th grade SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study was limited only to development step. Based on the data analysis, it can be conclude that mathematics learning instruments is very valid with mean score of syllabus is 4,53, mean score of lesson plans is 4,26, and mean score of student worksheet is 4,21. This student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification with mean percentage of student responses is 97,33 on a small test group.Keyword: Mathematics Learning Instrument, Problem Based Learning, Research and Development.

Abstract

Abstract : This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase student mathematics achievement with applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research was student of class X Akuntansi SMK Taruna Satria Pekanbaru in second academic years 2018/2019, which are 30 students, consist of nine boys and 21 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research is observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets was analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis technique, and the students mathematic tests was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis technique. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to UH-I and UH-II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (26,67%) to the first UH-I (56,67%) to the UH-II (93,33%) thus it can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class X Akuntansi SMK Taruna Satria Pekanbaru in second academic years 2018/2019 for the linear program.Key Words: Students’ Mathematic Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

The subject of this research is student of class VIIE SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in academic years 2018/2019, which amounted to 39 students, consist of 22 boys and 17 girls Aritmetika Sosial form material. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instrument of data collection in this research consist of observation sheet and assessment sheet. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of observation techniques and test results of mathematics learning techniques. Data obtained from the observation sheet is qualitative data and analyzed by descriptive quantitative analysis technique. Data obtained from the learning result test were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis technique. The result of data analysis show teacher’s and student’s activity have been done very well in cycle II and weakness/deficiency that happened less from cycle I to cycle II. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning.The results of this research showed the number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) for knowledge increase from the basic score (28,21%) to (35,89%) at the first test and to (74,36%) at the second test. For the skills, the score increase from (28,21%) at the first test, to (69,23%) at the second test. The results of this research showed that application of Problem Based Learning can improve the learning process and increase mathematics outcomes for students VIIE SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in 2018/2019 academic year at Aritmetika Sosial form material.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research
