Abstract

This research aims to find out whether by applying a group investigation leraning model can increase student’s motivation to learn mathematic grade X in SMK Dwi Tunggal 1 Tanjung Morawa. The research instruments used were observation and questioner. The observations used are statements of the learning process. Observation consists of observation sheets on the effectiveness of student learning, and observation of student learning motivation.The population this study is Students Class off X SMK Dwi Tunggal 1 Tanjung Morawa, while the sample in this study was a class off X-AP SMK Dwi Tunggal 1 Tanjung Morawa. From the results of the study can be seen an in crease student motivation to learn mathimatics by using a learning model of investigation b 75% at the first meeting and is categorized as effective, while at the second meeting it reaches 80% and is categorized as effective. Thereofere the use of the group investigation learning model is effective in creasing the motivation to learn mathematic in students of SMK Dwi Tunggal 1 Tanjung Morawa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine: Improvement of mathematical communication skills of students who obtain Gerlach and Ely learning is better than mathematical communication skills of students who obtain conventional learning, The relationship between students' initial mathematical abilities with Gerlach and Ely learning towards communication skills mathematical, but the relationship between students' mathematical communication skills with student mathematics learning outcomes. This research is a semi-experimental research. The population of this study were all IT students Baitul Quran Langsa, amounting to 22 students where 15 students were in class VII and 7 students were in class VIII. Then the two classes are given different treatment of the learning model. The experimental class was treated with Gerlach and Ely learning and control classes with conventional learning. The instrument used consisted of: a test of mathematical communication skills. The instrument was stated to have fulfilled the content validity requirements, and the reliability coefficient was 0.87. Data analysis was performed with the t-test statistical test, bivariate correlation test and 2-way anova test. Based on the analysis results obtained by the results of the study are: an increase in mathematical communication skills of students who get Gerlach and Ely learning better than students who obtain conventional learning, there is no interaction between learning with students 'initial ability to increase students' mathematical communication skills, there is a positive relationship between students' mathematical communication skills and student mathematics learning outcomes. Descriptively the answers to the problem formulation were also examined, namely: the process of solving students' answers whose learning with Gerlach and Ely learning was neater and more complete based on indicators of mathematical communication skills compared to students who used conventional learning. Based on the results of the study, the researchers suggest: Gerlach and Elypada learning of mathematics to improve students' mathematical communication skills can be used as an alternative to applying varied and innovative mathematics learning.

Abstract

This article is the result of design-based research that aims to compile and explore mathematics learning designs with problem-based learning models. In this article, we will discuss the level of validity and practicality of learning designs equipped with Student Worksheets (LKPD). The learning design was compiled with a needs and content analysis then validated by a team of experts before being applied to a limited trial at one of the State Madrasah Aliyah in Bandung Regency, West Java. The level of validity is determined based on the results of the validation of 3 mathematics education lecturers and a teacher at the research location. The assessment given is 88% with very valid criteria. The value of the LKPD validation level gets the value of the expert team on very valid criteria with an average assessment of 86%. The level of practicality reviewed in the study is the aspect of assistance and convenience. At each learning step, students gave a positive response to practicality with an average response value of 3.87 from a maximum score of 5. As for the interpretation of the mean value, the students' responses were in good criteria.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) melakukan diversifikasi produk sovernir dari limbah masyarakat sebagai peluang bisnis mandiri melalui optimalisasi E-Commerce. Tujuan kegiatan ini mendorong pembukaan lapangan pekerjaan baru bagi masyarakat, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Penggunaan limbah organik dan anorganik sebagai bahan baku pembuatan produk sovernir, dapat menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. PKM ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29 Juli sampai dengan 31 Agustus 2021, pada masyarakat Gampong Kuala Langsa, Kota Langsa, Aceh. Metode pelaksanan PKM dengan pealtihan dan pendampingan, dengan 5 tahapan: (1) Sosisalisasi program PKM, (2) Persiapan alat dan bahan, (3) Pelatihan Diversifikasi, (4) Pelatihan E-commerce dan (5) Monitoring dan Evaluasi PKM. Hasil pelaksanaan PKM ini masyarakat dapat membuat produk sovernir dari limbah yang tediri dari produk; tali rajut home dekor, bunga dinding, bunga meja, kotak tisu, dan gantungan kunci. Pemanfaatan perangkat teknologi smartphone penjualan produk sovernir menggunakan pasar digital (market online) berbasis e-commerce sudah terlatih. Program PKM ini memberi manfaat pengetahuan pengolahan produk limbah menjadi sovernir bernilai jual dan mendorong peluang bisnis mandiri bagi masyarakat. Abstract

This article discusses Möbius transformation from the point of view of algebra to describe one of its geometric properties, i.e. preserving circles and lines in complex planes. In simple terms, this preservation means that Möbius transformation maps a collection of circles and lines (back) into a collection of circles and lines. In general, the discussion begins with an explanation of the definition of the Möbius transformation in the complex plane. The discussion continues on defining the basic mapping and direct affine transformation. These two concepts are used to prove the existence of the preservation properties of circles and lines in the Möbius transformation. It can be shown that the Möbius transformation can be expressed as a composition of the direct affine transform and the inverse. It can also be shown that the direct affine transform and the inverse both have the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane. Thus, it can be concluded that in this study the Möbius transformation has the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 membawa tuntutan perubahan dan penyesuaian dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar di sekolah yang beralih menjadi kegiatan pembelajaran secara daring. Hal ini tentu mendatangkan permasalahan. Pada artikel ini disajikan hasil survei yang dilakukan kepada 27 mahasiswa pendidikan matematika yang mengikuti program magang, Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan, terkait permasalahan pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Survei dilakukan dua kali, pre-survey dan post-survey, yang untuk selanjutnya dilakukan komparasi terkait kedua hasil yang diperoleh. Dikaji juga perspektif mahasiswa dalam hal permasalahan pembelajaran matematika yang relevan untuk dikaji pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Hasil survei pertama terhadap perspektif mahasiswa menunjukan permasalahan pembelajaran matematika sekolah terbesar adalah masalah kompetensi kognitif peserta didik yang masih rendah, kemudan hasil survei kedua setelah mahasiswa mengikuti kegiatan pengenalan lapangan persekolahan masalah yang sering muncul adalah rendahnya minat peserta didik dalam belajar, secara lebih teperinci terdapat 5 topik teratas menurut perspektif mahasiswa, yakni kesulitan belajar, minat, media, desain, dan prestasi (dalam hal ini kompetensi kognitif). Kata Kunci:  pembelajaran daring, pembelajaran matematika, perspektif.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the interests and perceptions of mathematics education students in Langsa City towards distance learning, then the next is to study and analyze their communication patterns in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in the study was an online survey of 114 mathematics education students from two different universities located in Langsa City, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Survey material contains questions and statements related to interests, perceptions, and communication patterns as the main problems in this study. With all the supports and obstacles, student interest in online learning is very low, 84.21% of respondents are not interested. Then, most of them find it difficult to concentrate while following the lesson. Boredom and difficulty finding relevant learning resources are also part of students' perceptions of online learning. Most of them (79.95%) find it difficult to learn, although 70.18% can still understand the learning material. Furthermore, the WhatsApp application (with all its features) is the most widely used medium of communication to support learning activities (71.93%), both for questions and discussions (both with lecturers and peers). Virtual meeting application is the second most used media for communication (28.07%). The pattern of communication in learning activities is dominated by communication between students and groups of students with a frequency level of 67.64%. Furthermore, communication is carried out between lecturers and groups of students and between lecturers and individuals with a frequency of 24.52% and 7.84%, respectively. According to the results of this study, we argue that it is necessary to develop an integrated blended learning design equipped with a directed communication pattern.

Abstract

Community service in the form of workshop activities is intended to increase the insight and experience of 26 educators at Cut Nyak Dhien High School Langsa City in writing and publishing scientific papers. The writings made are directed in the form of the results of design-based research (DBR) activities, namely in the form of learning designs made by educators that are tailored to the needs and problems contained in each class. This series of community service activities consists of 3 groups of activities. The first group of activities is the stage of preparation and data mining by conducting interviews and observations. Second, core activities were carried out, namely practical workshops and writing of DBR results. The workshop activity was closed with mentoring activities for writing scientific papers. Judging from the survey responses of participants, this workshop activity received a positive response in terms of implementation, presenters, and the usefulness of the material.

Abstract

This community service was carried out in October 2020 at SMP Negeri 5 Langsa, as a form of dedication by the service team in answering problems that often arise in distance learning, especially in the city of Langsa, the selection of SMP Negeri 5 Langsa as a forum for service this time is due to its very close location. with a dedicated campus which is also a priority in education development, especially in the city of Langsa. All teachers participated in this community service by sharing fields of study at SMP Negeri 5 Langsa. The steps taken by the first service team are conducting initial studies and field surveys, in order to analyze the problems that occur and then seek solutions so that the problems that occur can be minimized. The second stage was the implementation of the activity, to determine the success in this stage of the activity the servant gave a questionnaire using google form related to participant opinions regarding the benefits, advantages or disadvantages of using google form as a medium for giving online assignments. The third stage analyzes whether the implementation of the service is carried out effectively or not. The final results of the average assessment of the participants showed that 91.74% of participants agreed that the use of Google Forms as an effective online medium and of the 11 indicators given each showed that more than 85% of participants gave positive responses.

Abstract

The problem of stunting is not only the responsibility of the government and the health department, but it is also our shared responsibility, especially in universities, through the Tridharma of University it is hoped that it can provide action in reducing stunting, several actions that can be taken include; provide and ensure access to clean water and sanitation, provide education and care for parents and students, provide good education for early childhood, and take a persuasive approach to families at risk of stunting. Stunting cases must be addressed immediately by conducting a convergence of stunting reduction among the targets, namely; early childhood, adolescents and parents, the method that can be done is to educate the public about stunting, how to avoid it and how to overcome it, which is targeted in community service based on the results of an initial analysis of the understanding of stunting, namely PAUD IT Bismillah and PAUD Nurul Fikrih, then dissemination is carried out about stunting how to prevent and treat it, then given training on how to design educational media so that teachers can find out more information about stunting, and summarize it in a poster, after the teacher is an expert in making posters then the teacher is taught how to make twibon, this is useful so that the target who became the locus of stunting knew more, by participating in preventing stunting.
