Abstract

Pakcoy Farming Income (Brassica rapa L) in Baturiti Village, Baturiti Sub-District, Tabanan Regency Mustard spoon or often known as pakcoy is a type of vegetable that is widely cultivated today. The stems and leaves are wider than ordinary green mustard, making pakcoy mustard types more often used by the people in various dishes. This certainly provides a bright business prospect for Pakcoy farmers, because the market demand is quite a lot. The purpose of this study is to determine the income and break-even point of Pakcoy farming in Baturiti Village, Baturiti Sub-District, Tabanan Regency.The population of this research is Pakcoy farmers in Baturiti Village, and using purposive sampling with a total sample of 42 farmers who work on Pakcoy and broccoli. Data analysis techniques are income analysis and break even point analysis. The cost calculation used is an approach from the production aspect and the result of the percentage of Pakcoy commodity is 38.02%. The results show that the income received by Pakcoy farmers is greater than the costs incurred, while the income of farmers who do Pakcoy farming for one growing season is Rp 1,751,056.00 for an average land area of 0.10 ha. Break-even point production from Pakcoy farming reached 51.93 kg and break-even point obtained price of Rp 2,335.67/ kg. Break even point of products and prices from Pakcoy farming in Baturiti Village shows a smaller value than the number of products produced by farmers, which is 227.38 kg and the price that farmers have sold is Rp 10,226.19. Pakcoy farming can be categorized as profitable because farmers have managed to get revenue above the breakeven capital.

Abstract

Abstract Production Risks of Big Red Chillies in Various Land Farming Areas Big red chili is one kind of chillies which are much needed by the people of Indonesia, so that this commodityhas a high economic value. With the chili consumption of 1.4 kg per capita per year, domestic production cannot meet this demand, so the price of chillies in the market varies widely. On the farming side, farmers experience uncertainty caused by climatic factors and other factors of chilli cultivation. The goal of this study was t identify: the productivity of various land sizes, to know the optimal  areas of big red chilli farming,  and the susceptibility or the gravity of the risk of chilli farming production. The results showed that the wider areas tend to have lower and lower productivity. The optimal chilli farming land area was 31.59  are. The production risks which were most vulnerable was experienced by farmers who had land areas between 21 and 30 ares while narrower farming areas were not susceptible to risks.

Abstract

Contribution of Cocoa Farming to Farmers Household Incomein Pangsan Village, Petang District, Badung Regency The study aims to determine the sources of cocoa farmers' income, and the largecontribution of cocoa farming to the income of the farmers' households in PangsanVillage, as well as to find out the physical management practices and postharvesthandling applied by the cocoa farmers. The technique of determining the sample wasby using proportional random sampling and the sample was taken randomly to selectthe sample by lottery method with the number of samples of 34 cocoa farmers. Thedata collection was conducted from early February to the end of February 2017. Thestudy used farming analysis to calculate net income and total household income ofcocoa farmers during 2016. The results showed that cocoa farming has the highestcontribution of 70.10% of the total household income of farmers amounting to Rp.85,954,990.80 / year with an average income of Rp. 60,252,258 / year. The physicalmanagement practices of cocoa farming applied by cocoa farmers in Pangsan Villageare in accordance with the physical management practices in the cocoa GoodAgricultural Practices (GAP) guidelines, and it is known that farmers did not applyGood Handling Practices (GHP) to postharvest handling.

Abstract

Abstract Noble values ??contained in Subak finally set to make UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage in need of protection. The challenge is not only coming from the onslaught of tourism alone but the biggest challenge comes from farmers themselves, namely the lack of interest of young generation to carry on the profession as a farmer. This led to concerns about the sustainability and preservation of the water control system. Subak as one of the world's cultural heritage contained in Sub Sukawati Gianyar regency which Subak Kulub Atas, Subak Kulub Bawah, and Subak Pulagan. Very important for the socialization of Subak as a world heritage, especially on the definition and management to the surrounding communities and the general location of the high school students in the District Sukawati Gianyar regency. Service activities that have been conducted in SMU 1 Sukawati, these students showed enthusiasm in listening to the material that we provide. After counseling, community service our team provides time for students to discuss around the water control system and world heritage, and there are many students who are interested and ask questions about how to preserve Subak and what they should do as the younger generation. Abstract

Factors Affecting Agricultural Land Conversion in the Irrigation Organizationof Subak Sebuah, Kerobokan Urban Village, Sub-District of Kuta Utara,Badung Regency, Bali The research aimed to investigate the factors that affect the conversion of agriculturalland and the dominant factors that affect the conversion of agricultural land in thetraditional irrigation organization of Subak Sebuah, located at Kerobokan Urban Village,Sub-District of Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali. The location was chosenpurposively in Subak Sebuah, Kerobokan Urban Village, Sub-District of Kuta Utara,Badung Regency, Bali. The number of respondents was 70 people by using quotasampling method. This research used factor analysis. The findings showed that factorsaffecting the conversion of agricultural land in the Subak Sebuah are economic factors(land selling price, land leasing price, farm income, household expenditure), socialfactors (following neighbors, age, and the number of family members working outsidethe agricultural sector) and land conditions factors (availability of irrigation water,access to irrigation water, land area before conversion, and location of land). Thedominant factors affecting the conversion of agricultural land in Subak Sebuah,Kerobokan Urban Village, Sub-District of Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali are theeconomic factors.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Risk Analysis on Strawberries Production of UD Agro Mandiri at the Pancasari Village Sukasada Sub-district of the Buleleng Regency UD Agro Mandiri is one of the agribusiness companies, as well as agro-tourism located in the Village of Pancasari, Sub-district of Sukasada, the Buleleng Regency which produces strawberries in its agribusiness. The problem faced is the fluctuation of the production of strawberries, so that indicates the risks faced in producing strawberries, where the risk has caused decline in revenue to the company. The study aims to identify the sources of risk, to analyze the extent of the risk, and to find out the ways of tackling the risk of strawberry production specialization. The research method used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result showed the sources of risk that affect the production of strawberries at UD Agro Mandiri namely: the weather conditions, pests and diseases, workers, visitors, and the quality of the seeds with relatively bigger level of risk, when it is seen from the standard deviation of 3,411 kg/year and the coefficient variation of 3.3. The risk management done by the company previously, has not been able to minimize the risk of strawberry production. It takes some ways in facing the risk of strawberry production, namely, building a greenhouse with hydroponic systems, making the SOP, adding the company's facilities, undertaking contract of production, developing vertical diversification, and making partnerships in the procurement of strawberry seeds. The company needs to implement the ways of handling as proposed, so that it can curb the risk into smaller level when producing strawberries. Abstract

Typology and Potential of Agricultural Sub-Sector in Gianyar Regency The lowest contribution in the formation of GRDP in Gianyar Regency in 2017 by theagricultural category was 12,84 percent (decreased from 13,06 percent in 2016. Thepurpose of this study was to determine the position of each agricultural sub-sector, baseand non-base sub-sectors in the economy in Gianyar Regency Research location wasdetermined deliberately. The research method used the Klassen typology analysismethod and Location Quetient with timeseries PDRB data for the last five years (20132017).The results of the Tiplogi comparison were food crop sub-sector, horticultureplant sub-sector annual seasonal plantations and sub-sectors included in theclassification of the potency sub-sector or can still develop, while the other agriculturalsub-sectors are in the relatively underdeveloped sub-sector classification, thehorticulture plant sub-sector a year, annual plantation sub-sector, livestock sub-sectorand sub-sector agricultural services and hunting. The results of the location quotient aresub-sectors which are the basic sub-sectors in the economy of Gianyar Regency, namelythe food crop sub-sector, annual horticulture sub-sector, and the annual plantation subsector.While the horticultural plant sub sector a year, the annual plantation sub-sector,the livestock sub-sector and the agriculture services and hunting sub-sector are non-basesub-sectors in the economy of Gianyar Regency. The development of agriculturalcommodities must have strategic characters, such as being oriented to market demandand concentrated on superior products with high competitiveness.

Abstract

Optimizing Sales Turnover and Price of Kapri RoastedPeanuts in Obtaining Profit (A Case Study at UD Monang)The development of small businesses, particularly agro-industries should be gettingmore attention, because it is very vulnerable to any risks as a result of uncertainty inthe field of farming and the lower quality of Human Resources on small businesses.It is necessary for improvement in the management in order to be able to earn aprofit in the long run. The management of agro-industry, especially smallbusinesses, is an important topic that should continuously be improved and studiedin order to reach more effective management. The purpose of this study is: to findout the sales turnover to be done in order to obtain maximum profits, to determinehow the sales volume each month that must be offered in order not to lose, whatprice per kg should be offered to customers, and whether UD Monang has thebargaining position in selling its roasted kapri peanuts. The results of the studyindicated that the peanuts’ optimal sales volume, so that UD Monang can gainmaximum profit if UD Monang is able to sell peanuts 2,875.67 kg/month. Thecritical point of losses occurred on the sales volume of 1,013.58 kg/month. Theselling price of peanut offer should range between IDR 27,000.00/kg. to IDR37,558.50/kg. UD Monang’s bargaining position was 34% of the agreed price bythe customers / consumers.

Abstract

Profile and Performance of Dry-Land Spinach (Ipomoea reptans) Farming InRice Ciherang Diversification Patten in Abianbase Village, Mengwi District,Badung RegencyThis study aimed to determine the profile of dry-land spinach farming and tocompare the dry-land spinach with rice ciherang views by income differences as wellas differences outpouring of labor in the family Village Abianbase. The researchmethod used was interview, observation, and direct documentation of 27 respondentsselected intentionally. The analysis used was descriptive analysis and comparisonanalysis. The results based on the characteristics of the respondent of swamp drylandspinach farmers seen from the age of more interest from group of productiveage and old age the average education level of famers dry-land spinach elementaryschool graduates, amount of children’s farmer an average had two late and secondjob as an average farmer laborers pelvis. Based on profit farming swamp dry-landspinach views of land area average used by 8 are, the total average cost of Rp.389.694,11/are with income Rp. 250.105,89/are and the value of R/C ratio of 1,64 orworth to developing. Based on comparative analysis of fevenue swamp dry-landspinach with rice which is the average income of dry-land spinachRp. 250.105,89/are and the average income of the rice is Rp. 147.956,63/are, whilebased a comparative analysis of the outpouring of labor in the family swamp drylandspinach amounting to 11,00 HOK/are and rice at 1,02 HOK/are.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Climate Influential Effect to the Production Risk of Shallots Farming Onion is one of the commodoties widely used in the Indonesian households, ranging from as a spice to herbal medicine. This means that onion has important value in society. Generally, farmer grow onion during dry season; however, in Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, Bali Province, they grow onion during wet season as well as during dry season. This study aimed at identifying the risk of farm enterprise of onion, and the factors which contributed to such a risk. The result of analysis showed that the farm enterprice of onion was more risky than that during wet season. Climate was also found to contribute to the risk of the farm enterprice of onion.
