Abstract

This study presents a harmonic filter design to reduce losses due to the load harmonic variations in Computers and Networks Laboratory of Electrical Engineering, University of Riau. Filter design is using ETAP software 7.5. Design passive filter using parameters from measurements made on the electrical panel Laboratory of Computer and Network by using a measuring instrument power quality analyzer KEW 6310. The parameters used are the active power (watts), reactive power (Var), apparent power (VA), and power factor (cos φ). ETAP simulation analysis process is done by modeling the entire charging circuit parameters with the actual condi-tions approach such as power grids, transformers, and cables. Harmonic orders reduced are order 5, order 7 and order 11. Harmonic filter is designed for all tests in order to meet the current THD is allowed IEEE stand-ard 519-1992 by 5%. Eight harmonic filters has been done in this case which three filters for harmonic 5th, three filters for harmonic 7th, and two filters for harmonic order 11th.Keywords: Passive Filter, Harmonic Order, ETAP

Abstract

The electricity demand always increases and electricity consumption too changes every time. The cost of power generation also changes when the electric load changes. planning is required to determine the portion of the generation of each plant in order to obtain an economical generation. In this study, solving solution using Newton's method aided with software Microsoft Office Excel and Matlab 2008b. The results of the testing that has been done, that PLTMG Haleyora operates at 08.00 am at 14.484 MW, while the maximum operating diesel from 10.00 am to 24.00 pm for 7 MW. while the peak load period all plants operate optimallyKeywords: Optimization, Load, Generation, Method Newton

Abstract

One of the aspects that can affect reduced the quality of electricity is the incidence of harmonics on electric waves due to by non linear loads, causing additional losses and led to decrease in work capacity (derating) the distribution transformer. Results of measurement of harmonics in distribution transformers in Riau University engineering faculty for one week, at certain times indicate the value percentage of 12.57% TDD exceeding the IEEE 519-1992 standard is 5%. This proves that the transformer impaired harmonic currents. As for the voltage distortion does not have problems (not exceeding standards). Based on the measurement results of 18.57% current THD cause losses of 19.3 kW and has a value of 27.4% THDF thus decreasing the capacity of power (kVA) installed or derating of 72.6%.Keywords : Harmonics, Total Harmonic Distortion and Derating

Abstract

Pekanbaru city is a city located in an area that has a large enough lightning density level that is equal to 136 days per year with a density of lightning strikes to the ground (Ng) reached19,5128 strikes/ km2/ year. So it can endanger the high buildings as being in PT. TELKOM Pekanbaru. PT. TELKOM Pekanbaru is the central distribution of data throughout the RiauMainland telecommunication, where it needs a reliable protection system. The aim of this study is to introduce a new method introduced in the IEEE publication, IEEE 998TM-2012, on the lightning protection called EGM Eriksson method. This study uses a Eriksson EGM method to analyze the composition of the air terminal building PT. TELKOM Pekanbaru, which will then determine the area of protection of the external lightning protection system All of this analysis is described in three dimensions using Sketchup 2015 and showed good protection results.Keywords : lightning protection, EGM, Eriksson

Abstract

Electrical system is one very important part in industry.Partial discharge is a disturbance phenomenon thatoccurs in power transformers. When partial discharge conducted continuously it will damage thetransformer. Partial discharge Measurement on the transformer in PT. IKPP is conducted to determine thecondition of the transformer insulation resistance, by analyzing the shape of the wave pattern and spectrumaccording to the standard used. The method uses Power PD-TP500A along with the Acoustic Emission (AE)sensor and the High Frequency Current Transducer (HFCT) sensor measurement on 3 33KV transformersand analyze the pattern and the spectrum using software Power PD-TP500A MD. The measurement of the1st transformer on Tuesday, September 17th 2019 at 02:25 pm resulted there was no formation of wavepatterns and spectrum and indicated normal transformer. The measurement of the 2nd transformer onThursday, September 19th 2019 at 2:10 pm resulted there was the formation of wave patterns and spectrumindicating monitoring level condition. Then the measurements of the 3rd transformer on Monday, September2019 at 2:30 pm resulted there was formation of wave patterns and spectrum on the AE and HFCT sensorsindicating critical level condition. Abstract

Analysis level reliability of this study using methods the section technique. Objectives to be presented in this study provide information about reliability of the substation 6DN PT.Chevron Pacific Indonesia. By dividing the distribution network based methods of calculating level of reliability section technique, which impacts the perceived failure of the same component if the occurrence of the disorders that cause system outages. Step by step execution of this study include collecting data, performing calculations failure parameter, calculating the reliability index SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average Interuption Frequency Index). The calculating result obtained by using method section technique SAIFI = 2.272817955 time/year and SAIDI = 1.859914796 hour/year. With existing standard in Indonesia as SPLN 68-2 1986 has values SAIFI (System Average Frequency Duration Index) is 3.2 time/year and SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) is 21 hour/year, the index reliability of the distribution system substation 6DN still in the category reliable. With an international standards such as IEEE Std. 1366-2000 SAIDI reliability index value of the distribution system substation 6DN smaller than the value of SAIDI IEEE Std.1366-2000, for the value of reliability index SAIFI substation 6DN larger than value index SAIFI IEEE Std. 1366-2000.Keywords : Section technique, reliability, system distribution

Abstract

The development of electrical power is important issue and has more effect to development of Indonesia. One of ways to increase the amount of power needed in manufacturing parallel system for distribution transformer. This way using by Engineering Faculty, University of Riau need 475,015 kVA or approximately 59,37% from maximum limit transformer load. Load limit for distribution substation of transformer from datasheet is 400kVA p.u and for load limit from theory calculation is 381,084kVA p.u or approximately 95,271%. This losses get from loss of material transformator about 4,729%. According to standardization presented by schneider electric, USA. transformator with the least impedance will have the most current cause in short age of the transformator.Keywords : Distribution System, Parallel System, Transformer, Flow Circulation.

Abstract

With the disruption that can not be predicted, we need a safety equipment (protection system) are precise and reliable. The purpose of this study was to determine the quantity of interference, protection system performance, reliability and power transformer protection system installation requirements in the area power transformer substation of 150 KV Garuda Sakti. Data obtained from the recording in substation Garuda Sakti analyzed using Descriptive Analysis Techniques percentage. The survey results revealed that from 2013 to 2015 occurred 28 times transformer disorders namely: in 2013 occurred 9 times transformer interference, in 2014 occurred 7 times transformer interference, and in 2015 the 12 times the transformer interference. Protection system that works in the event 28 times disruption in Substation Garuda Sakti 2013 to 2015 there are 6 kinds of relays, namely: Rele differential, Rele OCR / GFR, Rele OVR / UVR, Rele REF / SBEF, Rele UVLS and Rele DF / DT is the whole relay has a 100% reliability and got up fairly well. From 2013 to 2015 the reliability of Power Transformer Substation of Garuda Sakti by long outages caused by the interference, the Transformer Power1 reaches the percentage 99.97203%, the Transformer Daya2 reaches 99.983364%, the Transformer Daya3 reach 99.99258% and the Transformer Daya4 reaching 99.99081%. From the data analysis, in general, the protection system in the substation Garuda Sakti it can be argued that meets the requirements of the protection system selectivity, Reliability, Free Labor, Sensitivity and Economic.Keywords: Gardu Induk, Fault, System Protection, Reliability Substation, PLN

Abstract

Network development especially the substation can not be separated from the problem of area availability and load which is served on those areas. The placement of the substation should be located close to load centers, so it have network with a wide local area service. To determine area's load center of the next few years can be used with forecast of the long-term electrical loads using micro-spatial method, this method divides the load area into a view grid according to reign administration is the sub-district. This method uses datas related to electricity, socioeconomic, and demographic. In determining the grid peak load (districts) is calculated based on four groups of loads (sectoral). these are the household sector, industrial, commercial, and social. The approach taken in the micro-spatial method uses multiple linear regression model. To follow the trend of land use, then use the dependent variable with peak load's density. Results of peak load density is associated with the land use every sector, for peak load on those area. peak load forecast results for the city of Pekanbaru from 2015 to 2024 indicates a growth rate that varies every area from 4.3% to 20.9%, and growth of peak load average based on sectoral, are household sector 9.22%, industry 13.28%, commercial 7.95%, and social 9.39%. While the peak load of Pekanbaru City increased from 320.6 MVA in 2015 into 717.5 MVA in 2024.Keywords: Electricity load forecast, Micro spatial, sectoral.
