Abstract

Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a learning concept helps teachers relate subject concepts to real-world situations and student engagement to find materials learned and connect in everyday life. This study aims to determine the influence of CTL to improve student learning outcomes on environmental pollution materials during pandemics. The research was conducted at Manokwari Advent Junior High School in April-May 2021. The sample of learning grade VII A (experimental class) number of learners as many as 22 people and grade VII B (control class) the number of learners 20 people. This research method was quasi-experimentation with a nonequivalent control group design, an instrument used in research in the form of cognitive tests in the form of multiple choice. Analysis of data mechanisms used in the study was a normality test, homogeneity testing, and followed by hypothesis testing using the SPSS IMB 20 mentoring program. After the test was obtained, the results of the learning class experimental have an average post-test of 86.25, while the value of the post-test control class is 45.25; then, it can be concluded that the CTL model can improve the learner learning outcomes

Abstract

The research aims to apply jigsaw cooperative learning to improve student learning outcomes in the eighth grade of SMPN 10 Anggori Manokwari. This research is classroom action research. The research subjects were 36 students. Data were collected using learning achievement tests and observation sheets. The results showed that the students who were deaf in cycle I was 47.22% and experienced an increase in cycle II of 91.67%. This study concludes that applying the jigsaw cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a supplement book for ethnobiology courses based on research on traditional medicinal plants in Wonawa District, Kepulauan Yapen Serui Regency. The type of research is research and development. The ADD (analysis, design, and development) stage of the ADDIE model is applied to the development of supplement books. Interviews are used for data collection and identification of medicinal plants. Experts validate books made while students fill out response questionnaires. The validity criteria for supplement books with a value of 88.63% based on the findings of the research are Very Valid. In the Excellent category are responses to supplement books from students with an average rate of 87.5%. The developed supplement book can be used for student learning because it fulfills the valid criteria and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop an e-module that has valid and practical criteria in the subject of the human circulatory system in class VIII SMP. The development model used is the ADDIE development model. The research subjects were 12 students of class VIII. The instruments used are validation sheets, questionnaires and learning achievement tests. The results of the study showed: (1) an average of 87.14% was obtained from media experts for validity and 88.3% for material experts from material experts. Student responses obtained an average score of 80.4 which indicates that the e-module is very practical to use. The average n-gain of class VIII students is 0.945 with a high interpretation. So it can be concluded that e-module on human circulatory system material are valid, practical, and can improve student learning outcomes. Trials for the implementation phase of ADDIE need to be carried out to find out the effectiveness of the e-module.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze primary school students' motivation to learn science. Differences in student grades and gender were also examined in this research. The research has used survey methods. The survey was carried out on 97 students at one of the elementary schools in Malang City. The students who participated were those in grades 4, 5 and 6. A questionnaire containing 35 statement items measured students' motivation toward science learning. The analysis uses ANOVA to measure differences in motivation based on grade, gender, and interactions between grade and gender. There is no influence of grade and gender on students' motivation to learn science. On average, students' science learning motivation is good. Female students dominate the overall motivation score (M), active learning strategies (ALS), self-efficacy (SE), performance goal (PG), and science learning value (SLV), while Achievement goal (AG) and learning environment stimulation (LES) dominate the male student scores. The student's PG was weak. This indicates that students study science not to improve their performance but to get attention and be considered the best by others.
