Abstract

This research is categorized as Research and Development (R & D). As developed in this research is learning device that consists of lesson plan, student worksheet, and test. This research adopts ADDIE as a R & D model that stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The aim of this study are to describe the development process and to produce trigonometry learning device based on guided discovery method for students of grade XI Natural Science, as well as determine the effectiveness of trigonometry learning process using Guided Discovery method. To produce the trigonometry learning device based on guided discovery method for students of grade XI Natural Science, so it requires a validation from the experts and a trial to determine its practicability and effectiveness. According to the result of data analysis, it can be concluded: (1) trigonometry learning device based on guided discovery method for students of grade XI Natural Science fulfills criterion of valid, effective and practically, and (2) trigonometry learning process based on guided discovery method is effective.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Matematika memiliki objek kerja yang bersifat abstrak, oleh karena itu diperlukan sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat memvisualisasikan objek-objek abstrak dari matematika. Salah satu media visual tersebut adalah PowerPoint. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskribsikan kualitas media pembelajaran matematika berbasis PowerPoint yang dikembangkan oleh mahasiswa semester enam Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP UMS. Kriteria yang digunakan dalam menilai kualitas tersebut adalah syarat didaktis, syarak konstruksi dan syarat teknis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan validasi ahli, deskripsi, dan analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa hanya 5% dari total PowerPoint yang dikembangkan oleh mahasiswa memiliki kualitas yang baik. Dari 95% sisanya, mayoritas memiliki kekurangan dalam pemenuhan syarat konstruksi. Dara fakta tersebut, kajian lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana mahasiswa dapat mengembangkan media pembealajaran matematika berbasis PowerPoint yang memiliki kualitas mutu yang baik dipandang perlu untuk dilakukan khusunya pada keterpenuhan syarat konstruksi.

Abstract

Munculnya berbagai kekerasan seksual yang terjadi di masyarakat yang disebabkan oleh orang terdekat, terutama dari lingkungan keluarga, memunculkan masalah pentingnya memahami masyarakat terhadap konsep mahram, sebuah konsep dalam ajaran Islam yang mengatur batasan seseorang untuk menikah atau menikahi seseorang berdasarkan nasab, saudara kandung, dan mushoharoh. Dengan memahami konsep itu, seorang Muslim akan tahu bagaimana harus bersikap dengan mahramnya dan bukan mahramnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji penggunaan grafik pohon dalam topik teori grafis untuk mempelajari konsep mahram yang terkandung dalam surah An Nisa ayat 23. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif analitik dengan menggunakan instrumen tes, kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konsep grafik pohon dapat membantu seorang Muslim untuk belajar dan memahami konsep mahram dengan mudah.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model based on the theory of realistic mathematics education and child-friendly learning for teaching mathematics in junior high school. This research is conducted using Plomp’s educational design research that consists of four development phases: 1) preliminary investigation, 2) designing, 3) realization, and 4) revision, evaluation. In addition, this study also tests the mathematics instructional model prototype being developed and validated by an expert. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) the teacher’s learning management in the implementation of realistic and child-friendly learning model can be classified “very good”, 2) the prototype model is categorized “very good” in improving students’ activities , and 3) the students’ responses toward the developed mathematics instructional model are "positive”. Moreover, the syntaxes of realistic and child-friendly learning model for teaching mathematics in junior high school have been formulated, namely: 1) explaining learning objectives and motivating students, 2) providing contextual problems students familiar with, or horizontal mathematization, 3) processing abstraction or vertical mathematization, 4) devising strategies, 5) communicating solution in a discussion, and 6) giving inferences of mathematics subject-matter.

Abstract

In Indonesia, several training pieces have been conducted to develop HOTS-based science questions for elementary school teachers. However, few studies examine how elementary school teachers developed HOTS-based science questions. Hence, the current study is a case study that aims to analyze HOTS-based science questions developed by elementary school teachers in Indonesia. This study employed a descriptive-analytical method by analyzing 60 HOTS-based science questions developed by elementary school teachers. This study involved two raters from one of Indonesia's universities, who are experts in assessing learning for elementary school level to assess the questions. The aspects that are assessed are aspects of conformity with HOTS questions criteria, conformity with the criteria of thinking ability of elementary school students, and conformity with the quality of good questions. This study's findings show that many problems do not meet the first aspect, especially at non-algorithmic points, multiple ways, and multiple interpretations. Next, in the second aspect, most of the question does not use illustration to strengthen the developed question's information. The third aspect is a relatively fulfilled aspect by most developed questions. However, only a few developed questions are judged not to meet this aspect. Hopefully, this study's findings can be an evaluation material for policymakers in education to increase the training quality of HOTS-based science questions for elementary school level in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research in this article aims to develop a picture book based on visual thinking strategies for thematic learning in elementary schools. This is specifically intended to test the feasibility of the media developed in aspects of 1) material, 2) media, 3) teacher response, and 4) student response. This research is categorized as research and development. Research subjects for limited trials were teachers and third-grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem consisting of 2 teachers and 9 students. The type of research is qualitative evaluative. The data were obtained from the validation assessment of material experts, media experts, teachers, and students' responses. The data analysis technique was conducted through flow and constant comparison methods. Based on the results, the assessments of the media developed are 1) material experts earned a score of 62 with suitable category, 2) media experts obtained a score of 45 with suitable category, 3) teacher responses scored 44 with very suitable category, and 4) student responses gained a score of 14.1 with very suitable category. To conclude, the picture book based on visual thinking strategies is suitable for learning media in elementary schools.Penelitian dalam artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku bergambar berbasis strategi berpikir visual untuk pembelajaran tematik di sekolah dasar. Hal ini secara khusus dimaksudkan untuk menguji kelayakan media yang dikembangkan pada aspek 1) materi, 2) media, 3) respon guru, dan 4) respon siswa. Penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian terbatas ini adalah guru-guru dan siswa kelas tiga di SD Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem yang terdiri dari 2 guru dan 9 siswa. Data diperoleh dari penilaian validasi ahli materi, ahli media, guru, dan tanggapan siswa. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan metode perbandingan aliran dan konstan. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian terhadap media yang dikembangkan adalah 1) ahli materi memperoleh skor 62 dengan kategori sesuai, 2) ahli media memperoleh skor 45 dengan kategori sesuai, 3) tanggapan guru memperoleh skor 44 dengan kategori sangat sesuai, dan 4) Respon siswa memperoleh skor 14,1 dengan kategori sangat sesuai. Kesimpulannya, buku bergambar berbasis strategi berpikir visual cocok untuk media pembelajaran di sekolah awal.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dengan menerapkan e-learning merupakan hal yang dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat hasil dari implementasi pembelajaran kalkulus dengan Wolfram CDF ke dalam kelas semu Schoology. Metode perancangan sistem yang digunakan yaitu RAD (Rapid Application Development). Tahapan yang dilakukan meliputi 1) Requirement planning (perencanaan kebutuhan), 2) User design (desain pengguna), 3) Construction (pembangunan sistem), dan 4) Cut over (evaluasi). Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan berupa observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa semester satu Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP UMS tahun ajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 120 mahasiswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa suatu media pembelajaran interaktif kalkulus dengan kelas semu Schoology. Penerapan teknologi yang dilakukan dengan Wolfram CDF dan Schoology membantu dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Sebanyak 87 mahasiswa menyatakan media pembelajaran tergolong sangat baik dan 33 mahasiswa menyatakan media pembelajaran tergolong baik. Dengan adanya pembelajaran kelas semu yang digunakan, mahasiswa juga mendapatkan beberapa manfaat lain dalam pembelajaran kelas online diantaranya pemahaman tentang kemampuan informasi dan teknologi. Abstract The use of technology by implementing e-learning is what is needed in learning. The purpose of this study is to see the results of the implementation of calculus learning with Wolfram CDF in the Schoology pseudo-class. The system design method used is RAD (Rapid Application Development). The stages carried out include 1) Requirement planning, 2) User design, 3) Construction and 4) Cutover. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The subjects of this research were 120 students in the first semester of the Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP UMS academic year 2018/2019. The results of this study were in the form of a calculus interactive learning media with Schoology pseudo-class. The application of technology with Wolfram CDF and Schoology helps in learning activities. A total of 87 students stated that the learning media was very good and 33 students stated that the learning media was good. With the pseudo classroom learning used, students also get several other benefits in online classroom learning including an understanding of information and technology skills.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenilaian autentik memberikan gambaran yang detail bagi guru dalam melihat kemampuan siswa, kususnya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun, masih sedikit hasil penelitian yang mengkaji integrasi konsep literasi matematika terhadap penilaian autentik kususnya dalam pembelajaran matematika secara daring selama Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hambatan pembelajaran matematika dengan blended learning menggunakan penilaian autentik berbasis literasi matematika pada siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 6 siswa dengan kategori kemampuan matematika awal tinggi, sedang, dan rendah kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu tes, dokumentasi, dan wawancara dengan keabsahan datanya menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan yang harus dilakukan sebelum pelaksanaan yaitu mempersiapkan perangkat pembelajaran, bentuk penilaian autentik, dan instrumen penilaian. Pelaksanaan penilaian dilakukan dalam dua kali pembelajaran yaitu daring dan luring berbasis literasi matematika dengan fokus materi statistika. Selama proses pembelajaran dilakukan pengumpulan nilai dari aktivitas dan hasil pekerjaan siswa. Kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dalam mengerjakan soal statistika serupa PISA pada level dibawah lima sudah bisa sedangkan untuk level lima siswa masih kurang. Hambatan yang dihadapi selama pembelajaran yaitu keterbatasan waktu, proporsi jumlah guru dan siswa yang tidak sepadan, komunikasi yang sulit, kurangnya kesadaran dan tanggung jawab siswa, dan berkurangnya berpikir kritis siswa. ABSTRACTAuthentic assessment provides a detailed picture for teachers in seeing the ability of students, especially in mathematics learning. However, there are still few research results that examine the integration of mathematical literacy concepts to authentic assessments of kususnya in online mathematics learning during Covid-19. This research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and obstacles of mathematical learning by blended learning using authentic assessment based on math literacy in middle school students. This type of research is qualitative research. This research was conducted on 6 students with the category of high, medium, and low initial math skills of Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura Junior High School. The data collection techniques used in this study are tests, documentation, and interviews with the validity of the data using the triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The results of this study show that the planning that must be done before implementation is to prepare learning tools, authentic forms of assessment, and assessment instruments. The assessment is carried out in two learnings, namely online and offline based on mathematical literacy with a focus on statistical material. During the learning process, the collection of values from the activities and results of student work. Students' math literacy skills in doing statistics similar to PISA at levels below five can be done while for level five students are still lacking. Obstacles encountered during learning are time constraints, the proportion of non-commensurate numbers of teachers and students, difficult communication, lack of student awareness and responsibility, and reduced student critical thinking.

Abstract

This paper's focal point is on the nonstandard Optimal Control (OC) problem. In this matter, the value of the final state variable, y(T) is said to be unknown. Moreover, the Lagrangian integrand in the function is in the form of a piecewise constant integrand function of the unknown state value y(T). In addition, the Lagrangian integrand depends on the y(T) value. Thus, this case is considered as the nonstandard OC problem where the problem cannot be resolved by using Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle along with the normal boundary conditions at the final time in the classical setting. Furthermore, the free final state value, y(T) in the nonstandard OC problem yields a necessary boundary condition of final costate value, p(T) which is not equal to zero. Therefore, the new necessary condition of final state value, y(T) should be equal to a certain continuous integral function of y(T)=z since the integrand is a component of y(T). In this study, the 3-stage piecewise constant integrand system will be approximated by utilizing the continuous approximation of the hyperbolic tangent (tanh) procedure. This paper presents the solution by using the computer software of C++ programming and AMPL program language. The Two-Point Boundary Value Problem will be solved by applying the indirect method which will involve the shooting method where it is a combination of the Newton and the minimization algorithm (Golden Section Search and Brent methods). Finally, the results will be compared with the direct methods (Euler, Runge-Kutta, Trapezoidal and Hermite-Simpson approximations) as a validation process.
