Abstract

Science is one of the most important subjects at every level of education. Based on initial observations at SD N Kandang Panjang 02 Pekalongan through interviews with science teachers, information was obtained that learning has not yet led to fostering student independence. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning video-assisted discovery learning on learning outcomes and student independence. This study uses a true experimental design research model in the form of pretest - posttest control group design. The Effectiveness of the Learning Video Assisted Discovery Learning Model on Science Learning Outcomes and Independent Characters of Grade V Elementary School Students. The research sample was a fifth-grade student, consisting of an experimental class and a control class with a total of 28 students in each class. The research hypotheses were tested using two-tailed t-test analysis. The results showed that the control class only got an average score of 30,93 while the experimental class only got an average score of 30,68. This means that the pretest scores of the control class and the experimental class have not yet reached the minimum completeness criteria. After teaching and learning activities were conducted using the discovery learning model assisted by learning video, the control class has obtained an average score of 76,46 and the experimental class has obtained an average score of 85,04. The student learning outcomes enhancement is shown by the normalized N-gain score of the experimental class students of 0,913 and the control class students of 0,838 that included in the high criteria. The percentage of discovery learning models assisted by Interactive Learning Videos, directing students to be more active and fun so they can build their knowledge. This research concludes that learning with discovery learning models assisted by interactive learning.

Abstract

Distance learning is not a new alternative in the world of education, but this model is back in popularity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There is still very little literature on the implementation of learning during the pandemic so that it attracts the attention of researchers to analyze and describe the implementation of distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at Public Elementary School Grogolbeningsari to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data analysis techniques, in the form of triangulation combining the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. The sample in this study was seven respondents at Public Elementary School Grogolbeningsari. The results showed that (1) Planning, schools review and readjust curriculum 2013, improve teacher quality, fulfill facilities and infrastructure, complete documents, and innovate to develop strategies applied during the pandemic. (2) Implementation, although learning is switching to online and offline, teachers must quickly adjust to the pandemic, and they are required to be able to master various platforms such as WhatsApp, Google Form, YouTube, Zoom, and Television Broadcasting which they can use to fulfill students' learning rights and provide meaningful learning experiences. (3) Evaluation, the teacher can give WhatsApp feedback in daily activities, but the school still uses written assessments in the Mid-Semester and End Semester Assessments. Education has faced many challenges during the pandemic. Therefore, a collaboration between school members is very influential on the success of distance learning.

Abstract

In this research, the students' science learning outcomes that have not yet achieved completeness. Learning model can facilitate students to learn optimally is the project-based learning (PjBL) model according to edupreneurship. The model is driven by creativity and innovation of 21st century skills. This research conducted to; 1) analyze the effect of the model on students' curiosity; 2) analyze the effect of model on students' science knowledge outcomes and 3) analyze the effect of the model on science process skills. This research method is a quasy experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The control class should be used project-based learning model and the project-based learning model according to edupreneurship was used experimental class. The subjects of this study were 177 students with purposive sampling technique. Data in the form of learning outcomes are collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The conclutions of the study is the model effective to use and affeted toward outcomes learning of students’ coriusity aspect on science subject. The model has not been affecting the students’ learning outcomes of knowledge on science subject. The model efefctively to use and influences learning outcomes about students’ scientific proceeding skill on learning science subject.

Abstract

Students' mathematical understanding concepts are challenging enough to be explained virtually during distance learning. The study helps students to understand mathematical concepts and improve their independent attitudes. This study aims to analyze and describe the mathematical understanding concepts and independent attitudes of fourth grade students after the implementation of guided discovery-based e-worksheets in distance learning with synchronous and asynchronous patterns. The method used in this study is mixed-methods with an embedded experimental model design, true experimental pretest-posttest control group. The research population were all fourth-grade students from State Primary School 2 Jojo (experimental) and State Primary School 3 Jojo (control) in Kudus Regency. Sampling was determined by probability sampling technique, with a total of 23 fourth grade students at State Primary School 2 Jojo. Data collection techniques used test items, questionnaire instruments and document studies. The results of n-gain showed that the experimental class was 57% in the quite effective category compared control class of 41% in the less effective category. The results of independent sample t-test showed there was an average difference between two primary schools studied. The posttest average results of the experimental class were 80.43% compared control class of 72.69%, while the questionnaire average results of the experimental class was 77% compared to the control class was 73%. That means, the implementation of guided discovery-based e-worksheets is quite effective and can increase the mathematical understanding concepts and the independent attitudes of fourth grade primary school students.

Abstract

The authentic assessment is a teacher’s challenge. The cognitive aspect is central of the continuity in learning development because authentic assessment is considered complicated to implement. The aim of the research is to produce an authentic ICT-based assessment system that is feasible and effective. The research method uses a one group pretest-posttest design with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and tests for 131 fifth grade students with type of development is ADDIE stages. The tools that have been developed are validated and revised according to the suggestions of the media and material validators which are then tested with subjects outside the large group sample before applied in the large group test. The validation results show that the validity of the material is 95.83% and the validity of the media is 97.5% with very decent criteria, observation analysis of responsibility attitude is 88% and cooperation skills 93% with very good criteria. The large group test analysis on the pretest-posttest measures critical thinking skills as part of cognitive which shows the percentage of completeness (KKM>75) of 85% with an N-Gain score of 0.68 in the medium category and received criteria quite effective. Based on the results, it is concluded that an authentic ICT-based assessment instrument is feasible and effective to use to measure the cognitive competence, attitude of responsibility, and cooperation of fifth graders. The application of ICT-based authentic assessment system can measure students’ achievement accurately. ICT-base authentic assessment system developed can be used with flexible in line with the needs of teachers.

Abstract

Combining strategies, approaches, methods, and learning material is characteristic of today's learning models innovation. This study aims to (1) determine the validity of the PBL model supported by Prezi Media in Social Studies instruction and (2) determine the effectiveness of the PBL model assisted by Prezi Media on students' critical thinking abilities and conceptual knowledge. This research used a quasi-experimental approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group. The study was done in two schools, with the experimental class being 2 Kaliajir Primary School and the control class being 3 Petir Primary School. The data-gathering technique employed was an observation, description, and a short entry test. The data analysis technique was a prerequisite test for conducting research, including the normality and homogeneity tests. Meanwhile, hypothesis testing using expert validators, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain test were performed. The findings indicated that (1) the PBL model enhanced by Prezi media was valid for application in Social Studies education, and (2) the PBL model enhanced by Prezi media improved students' critical thinking skills and conceptual understanding. The study concludes that the PBL model, aided by Prezi media, is appropriate for social studies education and effect on students' critical thinking abilities and conceptual knowledge.

Abstract

Preliminary understanding of Curriculum 2013 becomes reference for teachers in teaching. Different knowledge and backgrounds of teachers about curriculum 2013 in primary cause the learning process also to get diverse. So, the teachers’ social construction is also different. This study aims to analyse teachers’ social construction and the school preparation in implementing curriculum 2013. This study used phenomenological approach. The data collection technique was done by interviews, observations, and document studies on grade I–V teachers and principals, which validity has been tested through the data collection method, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed there are three categories of social construction towards curriculum 2013, due to the different processes of teaching experience and training. First, teachers construct curriculum 2013 as a complement for better purpose of education. Second, teachers construct curriculum 2013 as a teaching reference with difficulties. Third, teachers construct curriculum 2013 as a substitute of previous curriculum. The school readiness has designed in detail and prepared by; carrying out socialization for school residents, training and tutoring program for teachers and principals, completing learning tools, then conducting monitoring and evaluation, as well as the facilities and infrastructures that are supportive for the learning process.

Abstract

Speaking skills have a very important role in a child's life. In fact, many children do not have good listening skills so that children have difficulty when talking to other people. This study aims to analyze the multimedia role of the animated film Nusa and Rara in improving speaking and listening skills in children aged 5-6 years. The method in this study used experimental research with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study consisted of 200 children aged 5-6 years. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The sample in this study were 60 children. Data collection techniques using observation and aneckdotal records. The results showed that the multimedia animation of nusa and rara was effective for improving listening and speaking skills in children after the intervention. The result of the probability hypothesis test is .000 (sig value 0.00 <0.05). This shows that the multimedia animation of nusa and rara is effective in improving listening and speaking skills in children aged 5-6 years at PAUD Mukti Tama

Abstract

Environmental-based learning is important for science learning in elementary school. It also refers to the concrete stage of students' thinking skills in elementary school. The use of problem-based learning model based on ethnoscience needs to be developed as a holistic learning process. This research sought to analyze the use of problem-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills and intrapersonal intelligence. This research employed mixed methods with a concurrent embedded research design. It took place in Babalan Elementary School and Kedungmutih Elementary School, located in Demak Regency. The research samples consisted of 96 fourth grade elementary school students. The data were collected through test, observation, and questionnaire techniques. The regression results revealed that there were significant differences in student activities using problem-based learning on their critical thinking skills. Based on the results of simple regression, it was found that (p = 0.00) < (∝ = 0.05); meaning that student activities in using problem-based learning affect critical thinking skills. The critical thinking skills affected students' intrapersonal intelligence, as shown by the results of the sig (2-tailed) regression test of 0.00 < 0.05; meaning that critical thinking skills affect intrapersonal intelligence.

Abstract

The roles of technology have influence on the progress of education, one of them is developed in education based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 65 of 2013 namely the use of information technology that is used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing blog-based e-learning in improving cognitive learning outcomes and independent characters in the thematic learning of fifth grade elementary school. This study used a quasy experimental design with two classes of research objects consisting of a control and an experimental class. The sample was 63 students. The result of this research shows that was that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes and independent characters. The average increase in learning outcomes of 84% was in the very good category. In addition, the application of learning using blog-based e-learning in thematic learning makes the desire to compete enhance learning and be able to work independently is in the very high category. The average N-Gain test was of 0.49 which was in the medium category. It showed that the increase in cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class using blog-based e-learning was more effective than the control class using google classroom.
