Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMP dengan pendekatan keterampilan proses padapokok bahasan suhu dan pemuaian. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan metode pre-post eksperimen tanpa kendali. Pre dan pos tesdilakukan untuk melihat peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Pengamatan keterampilan dan sikap ilmiah dilakukan pada awaldan akhir kegiatan laboratorium berbasis inkuiri. Data penelitian diambil sebelum percobaan, selama percobaan, dan setelahpercobaan. Hasil belajar pretes pemahaman konsep diperoleh rata-rata 51%, postes 61,73%, dan gain sebesar 0,219 (low-gain).Hasil belajar keterampilan proses, pengamatan awal diperoleh rata-rata 54%, pengamatan akhir 76%, dan gain sebesar 0,478(medium-gain). Hasil pengamatan sikap ilmiah awal siswa rata-rata 55%, pengamatan akhir 67%, dan gain sebesar 0,267 (lowgain).Jadi hasil belajar siswa pada penelitian ini mengalami peningkatan. The research aimed to observe the improvement of junior high Scholl students in learning on temperature and expansion byprocess skill approach. Uncontrolled pre-post experiment method was used in this study. Pre and post test was used to obtain thestudents understanding. The observation of skills and scientific attitudes was done on the beginning and at the end of each inquirybased laboratory activity. The data extracted from beginning, during and after labs activity. The achievements in conceptunderstanding yield the value of 51 % for pre test and 61.73% for post test thus gain the gain is 0.219 (low gain). Theachievements in process skills end up with the value of 54 % for initials and 76% for the finals observations give the gain of 0.478(medium-gain). The observations in scientific attitude give the average value 55% at the beginning and 67% at the end, so the gainis 0,267. Overall conclusion, the students achievement is improved.Keywords: science; process skills; learning achievements

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah pada siswa SMPN 24 Kota Semarang melalui kegiatanlaboratorium berbasis inkuiri. Desain penelitian ini dibagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu pra penelitian dan pelaksanaan penelitian.Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen penelitian berupa Lembar Kerja (LK) dan lembar observasi.Tumbuhnya kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah diukur berda-sarkan persentase ketercapaian tiap indikator kerja ilmiah. Persentaseketercapaian kerja ilmiah hasil analisis siklus I yaitu: LKI mencapai 73%, LK II 65%, Laporan 55% dan hasil observasi 70%.Setelah melalui siklus II, LK I mencapai 92%, LK II 76%, laporan 84% dan hasil observasi 71%. Hasil analisis kerja ilmiah siswasecara individual belum menunjukkan adanya ketercapaian kerja ilmiah siswa yang relatif tetap dengan ketercapaian 75%.Pengetahuan awal siswa tentang kerja ilmiah yang diukur dengan pre-test secara keseluruhan mencapai 58% setelah menempuhsiklus I dan siklus II siswa diberikan post-test dan hasilnya naik 12% menjadi 70%, hasil tersebut dianalisis menggunakan gaindengan kriteria medium-gain (0.3%). Hasil angket refleksi menunjukkan 46% siswa merespon pelaksanaan percobaan sangatmenyenangkan dan 51% menyenangkan. The aim of this study is to foster a scientific working habit on students of SMPN 24 Semarang, through an inquiry based laboratoryactivity. The research design consisted of the stages: pre-research and conducting research. The conducting research was done intwo cycles. The research instruments are working and observation sheets. The growth of scientific working habit is measuredbased on compliances percentage of scientific working habit indicators. The analysed results after the first cycle: WS1 yielded 73%,WS2 65%, report 55%, and observation 70%. After the second cycle: WS1 ends up with 92%, WS2 76%, report 84%, andobservation 71%.The analysed result of individual scientific working habit in general have not show a relatively constantimprovement yet with a compliance > 75%. Student understands on scientific working habit measured in pre test, the overall valueis 58%, after treatment increase 12 points on the post test, and ends up with 70%. Based on the reflection questionnaire, 46%students respond very enjoy with the research, and 51% fell enjoy.Keywords: inquiry; scientific working habit; science learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memotret pembelajaran sains di SMP dan SMA. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui teknik pengamatan dan angket. Pengamatan dilakukan untuk mengungkap proses pembelajaran yang diselenggarakan oleh guru. Angket digunakan untuk menggali persepsi guru fisika dan siswa terhadap faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pembelajaran sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya pembelajaran sains cenderung monoton dengan aktivitas sains termasuk rendah. Guru cenderung berceramah atau menjelaskan, siswa mendengarkan dan mencatat, dan kegiatan laboratorium jarang dilakukan. Selain itu, pada umumnya persepsi guru dan siswa cenderung mengarah bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran sains bergantung pada kurikulum, sumber daya, lingkungan belajar, keefektifan mengajar, dan strategi evaluasi. Kata kunci : proses pembelajaran, sains, empat pilar pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir siswa SMA di kota Semarang yang hasilnya dijadikan dasaruntuk pengembangan model pembelajaran fisika yang mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir Hipotetikal Deduktif padasiswa SMA di Kota Semarang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R & D),yang terdiri dari dua tahap. Penelitian tahap I bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir siswa SMA di kota Semarang.Penelitian tahap II bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran fisika yang mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikirHipotetikal Deduktif di Kota Semarang dengan berdasar pada hasil penelitian tahap I dan mencari tahu keefektifan model tersebut.Hasil penelitian tahap I menunjukkan mayoritas (78,28%) siswa SMA di kota Semarang berada pada tingkat kemampuan berpikirEmpirikal Induktif, dan sisanya berada pada tingkat Transisi. Hasil penelitian tahap II adalah model pembelajaran denganpendekatan inkuiri latihan penelitian, yang memberikan kesempatan lebih luas kepada siswa untuk berhipotesis, mengidentifikasidan merencanakan percobaan, dan menarik kesimpulan dari hasil percobaan, mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikirHipotetikal Deduktif pada siswa SMA di kota Semarang. Hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung sebesar -11.95 dan ttabel= 2.64 yangmenunjukkan thitung tidak berada pada daerah penerimaan Ho. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran inisecara signifikan mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir Deduktif pada siswa SMA di kota Semarang. This study aims to describe thinking ability of SHS student in Semarang. The result of the study will be used as a base of physicslearning model development which can grow hypothetical-deductive thinking ability of the student. The research metode used wasResearch and Development (R & D), consisting of two stages. The result of first stage shows that 78.28% of SHS student inSemarang has the level of empirical-inductive thinking ability, while the remaining has ability of transition level. The second stage ofthe study resulted a model of physics learning with inquiry approach of doing research practice, giving more chance to student togive hyphotesis, identify and plan a research and derive a conclusion, and being able to grow hypothetical-deductive thinking to thestudent. It was concluded that the learning model developed can grow hypothetical-deductive thinking ability of SHS student inSemarang significantly.Keywords: hypothetical-deductive; thinking ability; Physics learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the physics teacher student’sconception and the reasoning of their conception regarding the acceleration of asimple pendulum. A paper-pencil test was conducted to explore their conception of theacceleration concept at this case. Thirty second-year-students were asked to specifywhether the acceleration of the pendulum is zero at the indicated points, and to specifyits direction if it is not zero. Based on the result of the test, an interview wasconducted to the students for analysing the underlying cognition (reasoning) of theiranswers. The result of this study showed that all of students could not draw thedirection of the acceleration. Additionally, there were three groups of students basedon the cognitive analysis. The first group was the most students (50%) that hadconfusion of the acceleration definition, so they were unable to interpret it properly.The second one was some students (30%) that assumed the pendulum oscillation is asa simple harmonic motion, in which the acceleration at its equilibrium point is zero.The last group was the others (20%) that considered the pendulum oscillation is as apart of an uniform circular motion, in which the acceleration is always toward thecentre.Kata kunci: analisis kognitif, percepatan, ayunan sederhana

Abstract

Stakeholders have high expectation on natural sciences education to makestudents ready to compete in the fast changing world. To meet the expectation, thenatural sciences education needs an educational supervision to assure its quality. Thearticle will discuss a model characterized by professional collegial dialogues. It meansthat the dialogues must be democratic, equal and respecting each other according totheir position. This model has an important role in the school-based management. Abstract

This research  compared rubber quality between smallholder rubber farmers in rubber development program village and non-program village. The objectives of the research were to identify cause of low-quality rubber, identify farmer’s efforts to increase rubber quality, to describe and to test relationship between  socioeconomic characteristics of the farmers, technical factors, and rubber quality among them, and to analyze farmer benefit after use of rubber quality technology. Data for the research were generated from 64 respondents randomly from three villages. Descriptive statistics, qualitative analysis, binary logistic regression model, and partial budgets analysis were used in analysing the data. The result of analysis showed that farmers in program village produced lower grade rubber (average 6.13) than farmers in non-program village (average 6.98). The identification result suggest that the causes of low-quality rubber were the use of coagulant other than formic acid, use of additive coagulant and existence of contaminants in coagulump. The empirical result revealed that majority of farmers did efforts to increase rubber quality such as cleaning of collecting pans periodic, keeping of coagulump from contaminants, but just minority of farmer used trained tappers, cleaning of collecting cups before tapping, dissociating types of coagulump and there were no farmers using of formic acid as coagulant. The qualitative analysis and binary logistic regression model indicated relationship between education, family size, membership of farmer institution, participation in social activities and rubber quality at 20% probability level. The partial budgets analysis proved that use of formic acid as coagulant was profitable in program village and non-program village.

Abstract

Contoh penerapan teknologi dalam pendidikan adalah Computer Based Testing (CBT). Efikasi diri adalah keyakinan seseorang untuk menyelesaikan tugas. Uji Kompetensi Mandiri merupakan untuk menguji kompetensi siswa secara mandiri. Tujuan penelitian menghasilkan produk UKM, menentukan kepraktisan dan efektivitas UKM. Metode penelitian Research and Development. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII SMP 2 Demak tahun 2012/2013. Desain penelitian adalah One group pretest-posttest study. Efikasi diri diukur melalui pretest dan posttest, sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pembelajaran dengan UKM. Pengembangan UKM dengan menguji vaiditas, kepraktisan dan keefektifan. Karakteristik UKM yang dapat meningkatkan efikasi diri adalah: (1) memiliki tingkat kesukaran soal, (2) memiliki bantuan materi, (3) menyesuaikan gaya pembelajar modern, (4) mendorong terjadinya pengalaman vikarius. Keefektifan dilihat pada peningkatan efikasi diri siswa. Rerata pencapaian efikasi diri sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan adalah 76,6% dan 82,9%. Pencapaian efikasi diri siswa ini termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. The example of technolgy in education application is Computer Based Testing (CBT). Self-efficacy is the ability of someone to complete the task. Uji Kompetensi Mandiri (UKM) aims to test student competency independently. The research objectives are to produce UKM, determine the practicality and effectivity of UKM. The Research methode is Research and Development method. Subjects were the students of grade VIII of SMP 2 Demak in academic year of 2012/2013. The Research design is one group pretest-posttest study. Students self-efficacy was measured by pretest and posttest that measured before and after a treatment by using UKM in a learning program. The development of UKM is done by validity, practicality and effectiveness tests. UKM’s characteristics that can enhance students self-efficacy are: (1) have difficulty level, (2) have learning material assistance, (3) adapting to modern learner style, (4) easy to integrated in the learning experience to stimulate discussion and vicarious experiences.. The averages of students’ self-efficacy before and after the treatment are 76.6% and 82.9%. These achievements are categorized into high category.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui; kefektifan perangkat perkuliahan berbasis kompetensi dan konservasi yang dikembangkan melalui kegiatan lesson study. Penelitian menerapkan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah lesson study. Hasil penelitian perangkat perkuliahan yang dikembangkan melalui kegiatan lesson study efektif diterapkan. The study to determine; the effective of competency based learning and conservation to developed through lesson study. Apply to descriptive method qualitative research by applying the steps of lesson study. The results of the research tools developed through the course lesson study effective applied.

Abstract

Kecamatan Gunungpati Semarang memiliki potensi untuk menjadi sentra pertanian kebun buah dan sayur organik salah satunya melalui kegiatan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT). Namun selama ini, kegiatan yang ada di KWT dan hasil pertanian belum optimal. Hal ini dikarenakan belum efektifnya penataan tanaman di kebun pekarangan rumah, masih ada lahan kebun yang kosong belum dimanfaatkan, belum ada pembukuan kegiatan dan manajemen penjualan hasil pertanian, masih rendah difersifikasi hasil pertanian menjadi produk bernilai jual tinggi, dan minimnya pengetahuan dan sarana pembuatan pupuk kompos dari limbah organik di lingkungan sekitar sebagai upaya meminimalisir pengeluaran untuk kebutuhan pupuk. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, iptek bagi masyarakat (IbM) melalui program pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan cara pemberian pengetahuan dan keterampilan di bidang optimalisasi lahan, pembukuan dan manajemen hasil pertanian, difersifikasi jahe menjadi minuman jahe instan, dan pembuatan pupuk kompos. Luaran yang dihasilkan adalah peningkatan keterampilan anggota KWT dalam optimalisasi lahan untuk pertanian organik, terampil dalam mengolah jahe menjadi minuman jahe instan, membuat pupuk organik, serta kompeten dalam pembukuan dan manajemen penjualan hasil pertanian.
