Abstract

The quality of a nation is largely determined by the role and quality of education used by that nation. A civilized society is an educated society. In this case, Muhammad Tidjani stated that education in Islam occupies an urgent and principled position and is something that every person who claims to be Muslim should not have. This article intends to describe various problems that occur in the education process nationally and seek solutions based on the perspective of educational figures and their thoughts.

Abstract

Human rights are closely related to local culture. In the sense that human rights standards to be accepted and implemented require local cultural legitimacy. People are more willing to follow these human rights standards when they accept the norms and values that underlie these standards as legitimate and valid from the point of view of their own culture. In other words, the stronger the legitimacy of human rights standards, the more they will be voluntarily followed by the people in general and the better their implementation by official state organs. Conversely, according to them, the weaker the legitimacy of human rights standards, the more frequently they will be violated by the population and the more impossible it will be enforced by the state. So this article wants to examine more deeply the opinion of Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na'im

Abstract

In the local Madura tradition there is an Islamic tradition which has been carried out by the local community for a long time and continues to be preserved, in this tradition there is the figure (kiyai) become a center because of his social status who is the highest figure in religion and is very influential on society and its changes in religious matters. The purpose of this research is to find out the process of strengthening the religious character of the community through this tradition. This research approach uses a qualitative type of phenomenological study, data is collected by interview observation and documentation methods while data processing is done by reduction, presentation and verification of data. The results of this study are; The strengthening of religious character in this tradition occurs as in Thomas Likona's theory which starts from a process of moral knowledge that has been agreed upon naturally by society which is then translated into attitudes and behavior or as values and norms in life.
