Abstract

The purpose of this community service program is to improve the ability to wash hands properly and correctly using soap, increase student motivation in washing hands, improve student hand washing habits. This community service program is carried out at Pelita Hati PAUD. The results of this community service program run smoothly, conducive and according to procedures. Pelita Hati PAUD students were very enthusiastic and seemed to be able to wash their hands properly.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Desa Kali Padang adalah salah satu Desa penghasil sayuran. Berdasarkan hasil diskusi dengan kelompok tani disampaikan bahwa melonjaknya harga pupuk menyebabkan petani tidak mampu untuk membeli. Dampak dari hal itu adalah menyebabkan produksi tanaman menurun dan pendapatan petani juga menurun. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan solusi dalam menekan harga pupuk dengan mengenalkan dan mempraktekkan cara pembuatan serta aplikasi pupuk organik cair ke tanaman (bawang daun). Metode kagiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan sosialisasi dan praktek. Sosialisasi dilakukan dengan berdiskusi tentang pemanfaatan limbah pertanian yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Selanjutnya dalah Kegiatan praktek pembuatan pupuk organik cair. Wadah pembuatan pupuk organik cair menggunakan gentong ukuran 50 liter. Bahan utama pembuatan pupuk organik cair adalah babandotan (2,5 kg), paitan (2,5kg), vermikompos (10 kg), tanah (2,5 kg), urin sapi (10 liter), EMP dan air. Pupuk diaplikasikan ke tanaman daun bawang pada saat 5 minggu setelah pembuatan. Pupuk organik cair mengandung N sebesar 3,36%, P 146 ppm dan K 0,0325%.

Abstract

Desa Serangai merupakan Desa Pesisir yang berada di Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara, Provinsi Bengkulu. Dengan mayoritas pekerjaan masyarakat di Desa serangai sebagai nelayan, yang memiliki berbagai potensi dari hasil laut, salah satu potensi yang menonjol dan dapat diberdayakan dengan mudah di Desa Serangai yaitu Hasil tangkapan nelayan seperti Ikan tongkol, Dalam rangka meningkatkan nilai ekonomi suatu produk, ikan tersebut dapat dibuat menjadi produk olahan sehingga memiliki harga jual yang lebih tinggi dibandingankan dengan ikan mentah. Abon termasuk salah satu makanan yang sehat dan tahan lama yang memiliki protein tinggi dan memiliki kadar kolesterol yang rendah. Tujuan dari pembuatan abon ikan Tongkol ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan potensi Desa Serangai dari hasil tangkapan nelayan, menghasilkan produk pangan padat gizi protein, serta membuka lahan usaha baru dalam rangka meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Serangai

Abstract

[POTENTIAL OF FERMENTED RATOON ORGANS OF SORGUM (Sorghum bicolor L.) CULTIVATED IN SWAMP LAND AS BIOHERBICIDE]. Sorghum is one of the allelopathy-producing plants and the allelochemical content of sorghum plant parts varies. Therefore, each ratoon organs of sorghum has the potential as a bioherbicide. The aim of this study was to determine the potential of water extracts of six months-fermented ratoon sorghum organs cultivated in swamp lands as bioherbicides. The research was conducted in swamp land in Kandang Limun and Bentiring Permai Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Province from November 2020 to May 2021 and continued until October 2022 for bioassay experiment. The experimental design was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor with four replications. The treatment was fermented ratoon sorghum water extract for six months consisting of four levels (i.e., control, leaf, stem and root). Twenty five of mung bean seeds Vima 1 variety  was planted in a petri dish containing 10 mL of fermented ratoon organs and incubated for three days. The results showed that water extract of fermented ratoon plants was able to inhibit sorghum seed germination. Water extracts of fermented sorghum stems and roots was more potential as a source of bioherbicides than those of sorghum leaves or controls. Therefore, it is recommended to use the ratoon sorghum roots or stems for bioherbicide.

Abstract

Mahasiswa tingkat akhir harus mempersiapkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang sesuai dengan bidangnya ketika memasuki dunia kerja. Dalam memasuki dunia kerja diperlukan kesiapan kerja salah satunya adalah meningkatkan regulasi diri dimana mahasiswa tingkat akhir harus memiliki kemampuan dalam merencanakan dan mengarahkan perilaku untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu.Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan regulasi diri untuk kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dengan metode ceramah dan pelatihan regulasi diri. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala regulasi diri. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adanya peningkatan regulasi diri untuk kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir.

Abstract

Soybeans can be cultivated in Entisol. However, soybean cultivation on Entisol land has problems, including low soil fertility. Providing compost and NPK is an alternative to overcome this. The research objective was to determine the best type of compost and NPK fertilizer dosage for soybean growth and yield in entisol. The research has carried out in the Entisol Bengkulu field from August to November 2020. The research design used a Complete Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 2 factors including: the type of compost organic fertilizer consisting of: P1 = Widelia trilobata, P2 = Tithonia diversivolia, P3 = oil palm empty bunches, and P4 = Eichhornia crassipes and the NPK fertilizer dosage consisting of: N0 = 0 kg ha-1, N1 = 150 kg ha-1, N2 = 300 kg ha-1, N3 = 450 kg ha-1. Observation variables include plant growth and yield and supporting observations which include the results of initial soil analysis and climate data during the study. The results showed that NPK dosing had a significant effect on the variables of plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, root wet weight per plant, and dry weight per plant. However, the application of compost did not significantly affect all variables. Meanwhile, there was no interaction between the application of compost types and NPK dose on the growth and yield of soybean in entisols. The application of compost types and NPK fertilizer doses up to 450 kg ha-1 has not improved the growth and yield of soybeans in entisol fields.

Abstract

The porang plant is a tuber-producing plant developed because it can increase farmers' income. Sunlight intensity and the growing environment are essential factors that affect the growth and yield of porang plants. The research aims to get the best shade, planting media formulation, and their interaction for the development and outcome of porang plants. This study applied a randomized group design with the factorial pattern. The first factor is 50%, 70%, and 90% shade. The second factor of planting media formulation is soil or control (100%), soil (50%) + rice husk (16.7%) + coffee husk (16.7%) + manure (16.7%), soil (33.3%) + rice husk (33.3%) + waste (33.3%), soil (66.7%) + coffee husk (16.7%) + rice husk 16.7%). The results showed that 90% shading and planting media formulation of soil (33.3%) + rice husk (33.3%) + manure (33.3%) produced the highest growth (plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter) and porang yield (tuber weight).

Abstract

The cultivation of rice (Oryza sativa) cannot be separated from the threat of major pests and diseases that often attack these plants. If the pest attack is not properly controlled, it can reduce the productivity of the rice plant. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization or counseling to farmers in Pematang Balam Village, Hulu Palik District, North Bengkulu Regency to be able to recognize the symptoms of pest attacks and the main diseases of rice plants and then apply appropriate, fast and accurate controls. The method used is a form of counseling. This counseling activity was given to 30 farmer members in the village of Pematang Balam. The results obtained during the community service activities were 1) the participants were enthusiastic about the material provided, seen from the many questions asked by the participants both in the form of the characteristics of pests and how the symptoms were caused by these pests and diseases, 2) in general the participants already knew chemical pest control methods. The conclusions of this community service activity are 1) the service participants and all Pematang Balam Village officials welcomed this service program. 2). the implementation of the service program went quite well and smoothly and the participants were quite enthusiastic. 3). The farmers and village officials of Pematang Balam hope that there will be a follow-up service program with another theme to add to and open up scientific knowledge in the community.

Abstract

Marga Sakti Village is a village located in the Padang Jaya District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. Marga Sakti Village is a Village With the majority of community work dominated by farmers or planters, Marga Sakti Village has various potential natural resource wealth, one of the potentials that can be empowered is freshwater fish farming. In order to increase economic value and reduce the number of unemployment, Marga Sakti Village also has a very strategic role in terms of providing fish resources and freshwater fish productivity land. However, fish farmers in Marga Sakti Village currently still use conventional technology where they do not understand the importance of adding nutrients to feed to speed up the harvest period with optimal results. So far, fish farmers still use traditional technology due to the lack of knowledge and ability of partners so that the obstacles they face are that fish are susceptible to disease, farmed fish often experience a decrease in appetite, poor aquaculture water quality, and slow fish growth rate, thus prolonging the harvest period and increasing production costs. In order to help solve the problems of fish farmers in the village, community service activities were carried out by providing counseling on Training on Making and Using Probiotics in Freshwater Fish Farming in Marga Sakti Village, Padang Jaya District, North Bengkulu Regency as additional nutrients in feed by utilizing cheap, easily available and environmentally friendly ingredients.

Abstract

Salah satu kendala budidaya kentang di dataran tinggi adalah suhu yang cukup rendah. Suhu yang terlalu rendah akan menghambat pembentukan umbi kentang. Penggunaan mulsa dapat menjadi solusi untuk memodifikasi suhu dan lingkungan tumbuh agar sesuai bagi perkembangan tanaman kentang. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menunjukkan respon pertumbuhan dan hasil kentang terhadap pemberian mulsa. Penelitian dilakukan di dataran tinggi Bengkulu dengan ketinggian 1000 m dpl menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) faktor tunggal dengan tiga ulangan. Penelitian menggunakan umbi kentang dengan perlakuan mulsa plastik hitam perak, mulsa jerami padi dan tanpa mulsa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mulsa plastik hitam perak memberikan hasil tertinggi pada tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, dan diameter umbi. Penggunaan mulsa jerami dan mulsa plastik hitam perak menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan tanpa mulsa pada jumlah cabang, jumlah daun, panjang umbi, jumlah umbi per tanaman dan bobot umbi per tanaman. Kata kunci: kentang, modifikasi, produksi, tanah, umbi
