Abstract

Searching for information is one major Internet activities during which information seekers may gain benefit as well as incurred some cost. In general, information seekers seldom employ any search strategy for general browsing to explore information space. On the other hand, in certain situation, they may employ certain search strategy, especially those who engage in a fact-finding activity. The objective of this research is to shed light on how search strategy can be used to gain the maximum benefit of information search activities. It borrows the two-factor theory to group Web design elements into benefit and cost manifested as motivating and hygiene factors. This research employed a laboratory experiment with 235 respondents who were participated on this research voluntarily. Respondents were divided into two groups, namely ‘plan-group’ and ‘unplan-group’. Both groups were given certain tasks related to information search. The experiment was followed by a post experiment survey. The result shows that respondents who were in the ‘plan-group’ perceived less benefit and incurred more cost compared to those in the ‘unplan-group’. The future research is proposed at the end of this manuscript.

Abstract

 People with normal senses use spoken language to communicate with others. This method cannot be used by those with hearing and speech impaired. These two groups of people will have difficulty when they try to communicate to each other using their own language. Sign language is not easy to learn, as there are various sign languages, and not many tutors are available. This study focuses on the character recognition based on manual alphabet. In general, the characters are divided into letters and numbers. Letters were divided into several groups according to their gestures. Characters recognition was done by comparing the photograph of a character with a gesture dictionary that has been previously developed. The gesture dictionary was created using the normalized Euclidian distance. Character recognition was performed by using the nearest neighbor method and sum of absolute error. Overall, the level of accuracy of the proposed method was 96.36%.

Abstract

Involvement of digital information in almost of enterprise sectors makes information having value that must be protected from information leakage. In order to obtain proper method for protecting sensitive information, enterprise must perform risk analysis of threat. However, enterprises often get limitation in measuring risk related information security threat. Therefore, this paper has goal to give approach for estimating risk by using information value. Techniques for measuring information value in this paper are text mining and Jaccard method. Text mining is used to recognize information pattern based on three classes namely high business impact, medium business impact and low business impact. Furthermore, information is given weight by Jaccard method. The weight represents risk levelof information leakage in enterprise quantitatively. Result of comparative analysis with existing method show that proposed method results more detailed output in estimating risk of information security threat.

Abstract

Both types of documents, electronic and non-electronic are a major component supporting activities.  In addition to the documents, communications capabilities to employees and managers effectively with other stakeholders are one of the important key achievements of organizational goals.  LP. XYZ is one of the Consultants in the field of Information Technology, but the storage and management of electronic documents and archives themselves carried on a server without a management information system, so that records and electronic documents have not been properly managed. This study makes modeling system includes document management of process models, data models and interface models to suit the needs of the LP. XYZ administration in organizing activities, such as enterprise document management, web content management, project management and communication management of work, so the management information system may be supporting the business activities and operations of LP. XYZ.

Abstract

Pengetahuan mengenai nutrisi selama masakehamilan merupakan informasi yang penting. Pengetahuannutrisi dibutuhkan sebagai panduan untuk menjaga sertameningkatkan kesehatan ibu dan bayi yang dikandung. Padamakalah ini, dirancang ontologi Prenatal-Nutrition untukmerepresentasikan pengetahuan nutrisi tersebut ke dalam modelformal. Perancangan dilakukan dengan menentukan sertamendeskripsikan taksonomi, relasi dan atribut. Proses evaluasirancangan menggunakan Schema metric pada Ontology QualityAnalysis (OntoQA). Schema metric terdiri dari pengukuranRelationship Richness (RR), Inheritance Richness (IR), danAttribute Richness (AR). Pengukuran tersebut dapat memberikanevaluasi terhadap karakteristik dan potensi representasipengetahuan dari rancangan ontologi. Dari hasil pengukuran,didapatkan hasil RR 0,41, IR 3,14 dan AR 2,42. Nilai RR dan ARmengindikasikan rancangan ontologi masih perlu diperbaikisehingga potensi pengetahuan yang disampaikan dapatdimaksimalkan. Sementara nilai IR mengindikasikan rancanganontologi mencakup bidang pengetahuan yang cukup umum.

Abstract

Aplikasi media sosial yang beragam seperti email,forum diskusi online, blogs, micro- blogs dan wikis telah banyakdigunakan oleh milyaran orang di seluruh penjuru dunia.Komunikasi in terhubung melalui desktop dan aplikasi berbasisweb, baik fixed maupun dengan perngkat mobile yang sangatmemungkinkan terciptanya struktur jejaring sosial yang cukupkompleks. Pelakunya tidak hanya perorangan namun jugasecara organisasi maupun komunitas. Mencermati bagaimanainteraksi dan relasi yang terjalin hingga berkembangnyajaringan, berubah, gagal maupun sukses merupakan hal yangmenarik untuk diteliti. Berfokus pada komunitas onlinepenggemar dan praktisi seni beladiri Indonesia yang dibentukmelalui grup di Facebook, penulis berupaya menggaliketerhubungan antar anggota hingga menemukan pola danmelakukan pemetaan melalui klustering untuk mengidentifikasijenis beladiri yang tergabung di dalamnya. Metode yangdigunakan adalah Social Network Analysis terhadap data yangdiperoleh dari Facebook API. Dengan menggunakan perangkatlunak Microsoft NodeXL, struktur dalam komunitas terbagidalam 11 klaster dengan masing – masing tokohnya. Penelitianini diharapkan dapat membantu pengguna untuk mendapatkaninformasi dari suatu komunitas online tanpa harus membacasatu persatu informasi di dalamnya

Abstract

Human beings as creatures of God has tremendous advantages in terms of process knowledge . Knowledge , ideas , predictions , and beliefs intertwined managed to produce a greater range of knowledge in the human brain . With its experience a human can easily distinguish them said the same but have different meanings , or otherwise different words but the same meaning . Of all the advantages it has, on one hand, humans also have various limitations in managing large amounts of data , the limitations of doing a quick search , to the limitations in considering complex data . This is the basis of this study . The research in this paper will focus on an ambiguous word search prototype system , where the system is expected later to understand user queries performed more easily . SPARQL , RDF and ontology is the technology that will be used to support the course of this study .

Abstract

Nowadays many department (community) are thinking how to get more knowledges and metadata by linking more systems from other community. There are great challenges to make all systems organizing knowledge and sharing metadata – to make it easy searched, indexed and used in different context. In this paper we will focus on metadata in specific domain - ‘Poverty’2. Regardless of the various definitions of poverty, in this paper we will focus on managing metadata in “Poverty” with many different terms therein. Ontology Mapping is the process of relating similar concepts or relations from different sources through some equivalence relation. Mapping allows finding correspondences between the concepts of two ontologies. If two concepts correspond, then they mean the same thing or closely related things. Currently, the mapping process is regarded as a promise to solve the problem between ontologies since it attempts to find correspondences between semantically related entities that belong to different ontologies. It takes as input two ontologies, each consisting of a set of components (classes, instances, properties, rules and axioms). Based on the presented reasons, we believe that ontologies with common terms and common concepts are very important in a metadata sharing process.
