Abstract

Sediment rate of Mrica reservoir is much faster than its early design by which it causes life time service of Mrica reservoir becoming shorter than previous assumption. Sediment control has been being operated by flushing, but it seems less optimal. This research aims to develop both laboratory models of fluidization and fluidizer systems for controlling sedimentation in Mrica reservoir.This research was carried out to experiment model in a laboratory regarding effectiveness of fluidization system especially to support sediment flushing. Sample sediment tested was from Mrica reservoir bed. There were two models including a flushing model alone and a flushing model assisted by a fluidizer pipe. Experiment was conducted in various discharges, sediment depths, and pipe pressures.The research results show that sediment category in Mrica reservoir is cohesive material consisting around 80% of medium to coarse silt. Compared to the flushing mechanism alone, the combination of flushing and fluidization can increase the volume of sediment removal by 67.54 %, 67.88 %, and 71.26 % for the discharges of 0.123 litre/sec, 0.185 litre/sec, and 0.369 litre/sec respectively. The combination of flushing and fluidization is also able to improve model efficiency by around 4.38 %, 4.54 %, and 5.07 % for the same variation of discharges.

Abstract

This paper discusses anapplication of H-bridge inverter equipped with boost-up chopper circuits as photovoltaic power conditioner in stand-alone operation. First, the boost-up chopper circuits working to regulate the DCoutput voltage of photovoltaic with proportional-integral (PI) controller is described. Then, the H-bridge inverter converting the DC output voltage of chopper circuits become AC voltage waveform is presented. The uni-polar sinusoidal pulse-width modulation technique (SPWM) is appliedto the inverter circuits to produce sinusoidal output current waveform. The simulation results of the proposed photovoltaic system for different output voltages, and transient voltage wave forms are presented in the paper. The results show that the boost-up chopper circuits is effective to be appliedin the photovoltaic system to obtain stable DC output voltage of the photovoltaic, and AC voltage waveform generated bythe inverter circuits.

Abstract

Makalah ini menyajikan hasil perancangan, pengujian dan analisis unjuk kerja prototip sistem pengiriman daya nirkabel menggunakan inverter setengah jembatan dengan teknik resonansi magnetik frekuensi 100 kHz. Pengiriman daya menggunakan rangkaian resonansi magnetik bekerja memindahkan energi listrik dari rangkaian pengirim ke rangkaian penerima melalui resonator yang beroperasi pada frekuensi resonansi. Pada penelitian ini bagian pengirim dan penerima menggunakan kumparan kawat tembaga berdiameter 1,2 mm berbentuk kumparan helix dengan diameter kumparan 10 cm. Catu daya pengirim menggunakan sumber DC 12 V dan dihubungkan dengan inverter setengah jembatan. Sisi penerima dihubungkan dengan rangkaian penyearah diode yang dilengkapi dengan filter untuk mendapatkan tegangan DC. Rangkaian inverter dibuat menggunakan saklar semikonduktor daya MOSFET. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian prototip di laboratorium diperoleh bahwa efisiensi pengiriman daya berkurang terhadap jarak. Semakin jauh jarak antara kumparan pengirim terhadap kumparan penerima, maka efisiensinya menurun. Frekuensi sinyal yang dikirim relatif tetap meskipun jarak kumparan pengirim terhadap kumparan penerima berubah. Sudut antara kumparan penerima terhadap kumparan pengirim yang memberikan efisiensi terbaik adalah 00. Selain itu, untuk hasil pengujian ketika terdapat media yang bersifat isolator di antara kumparan pengirim dan penerima maka transfer daya tidak terganggu. Tetapi ketika terdapat media konduktor maka daya akan terserap oleh konduktor tersebut sehingga efisiensi semakin kecil.
