Abstract

This research was aimed to describe (1) the implementation; (2) students' creative thinking skills; (3) students' cognitive learning outcomes; (4) student responses in the implementation of the IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning model based on e-learning. This is a pre-experimental study with One-Group Pre-test-Post-test Design. The sample in this study were students of class XI MIPA 2 SMA Walisongo Gempol. Data were collected through tests, observations, and questionnaires with creative thinking skills test instruments, observation sheets on the implementation of IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning model, fluency indicator observation sheets, and student response questionnaires to the IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) model. The data are analyzed descriptively and statistically through the Wilcoxon test with α = 0.05. The conclusions from the research are (1) the implementation of the IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning model based on e-learning to improve the creative thinking skills of class XI MIPA2 students is categorized as very good; (2) students' creative thinking skills in e-learning-based IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning have increased; (3) students' cognitive learning outcomes in e-learning-based IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning are complete; (4) student response to the IBSC (Investigation Based Scientific Collaborative) learning model based on e-learning is positive.

Abstract

The use of virtual lab-based students worksheet in science learning aims to optimize practicum activities during the pandemic. Virtual-based students worksheet take advantage of the features that are already available and adapted to the material to be practiced, so knowledge is needed to develop virtual lab-based students worksheet s. The activity of compiling virtual lab-based students worksheet was attended by science teacher participants from private schools in Gresik Regency, with the One Group Pretest Posttest design. Activity participants were given a pretest and then compiled a virtual lab-based students worksheet and posttest. The resulting students worksheet is assessed for feasibility using the students worksheet assessment instrument. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by N-gain showing an increase of 0.64 in the medium category. The assessment of the participant students worksheet shows that the virtual lab-based students worksheet that have been created are in accordance with the instructions, the category is very feasible, so that it can be implemented as an effort to optimize science practicum during the pandemic.

Abstract

Mobile learning-based learning is very appropriate to use in learning today, because students can be actively involved in learning and interact through mobile learning media to improve student character, the learning model that needs to be applied includes the Ryleac learning model. This study aims to produce a mobile learning-based Ryleac learning device for strengthening student character that is suitable for use in learning for class XI students of SMA Gorontalo. This research is classified as a Quasi Experiment research with a posttest only control group design. Based on the validity test, from the validation results by experts, it was found that the average ryleac-based mobile learning learning device for RPP obtained a validity value of 0.858 (SV), LKPD obtained a validity value of 0.870 (SV), teaching materials obtained a validity value of 0.859 (SV), THB obtained a validity value of 0.841 (V) and the student character observation sheet obtained a validity value of 0.889 (SV). Based on these data, the ryleac learning device based on mobile learning is feasible to use in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a valid, practical, and effective science e-module for the digestive system material to improve the scientific explanation skills of junior high school students. This research is development research that uses the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of learning, tests, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained was then analyzed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-module product. The results of the research are valid, practical, and effective product development so that the product in question is feasible to use. The results of product validation show that e-modules are included in the very valid category with a validation value of 92.5%, which means their assessment is seen from two aspects, namely content validity and construct validity. This product is included in the very practical category based on its practicality value of 93.56%. This product is also included in the effective criteria, which is seen based on the test results with an n-gain value of 0.60 and the results of the student response questionnaire of 88.97%, which is included in the very good criteria. Thus, the developed e-module product can be said to be feasible to improve the scientific explanation skills of junior high school students in science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Science Literacy Circles (SLC) method on students' scientific literacy skills. Research subjects are students of Biology education, FKIP UNSRI, who take an Introduction to Environmental Science course, Environmental Pollution material. This study uses a post-test-only control design. The students who were the samples in this study were taken using a purposive random sampling technique with the Indralaya class as the control class and the Palembang class as the experimental class, each with 1 class. The data analysis technique was carried out using an instrument sheet in the form of a test sheet. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the experimental class had a higher achievement of scientific literacy skills than the control class in terms of several aspects of scientific literacy, namely aspects of competence, context, and attitudes towards science. The average percentage for the three aspects measured was obtained at an average of 69.03 for the control class and 82.88 for the experimental class.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of the online education system on students and teachers during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan. The research method uses qualitative research, namely literature studies by examining the results of previous research related to the implementation of the existing education system in Pakistan. There are several research results to be studied, which provide a description of policies in the implementation of education during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan. Data analysis techniques use descriptive qualitative analysis, with reference to Miles & Hubberman's analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the online education system during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan, includes 1) learning that was temporarily interrupted due to the lack of technology actually provides challenges in solving problems faced by both teachers and students, 2) the readiness of online learning is expected to run effectively if there are clear guidelines / procedures, learning planning, self-efficacy and internal motivation, access services, especially online libraries, online communication, and significant online connectivity, 3) the Covid-19 pandemic is used as a challenge in the world of education to continue to provide maximum service in the midst of a crisis because education is closely related to the quality of human resources, and 4) Teachers can develop pedagogical innovations to fit the requirements of online learning where bringing conventional classes online. this study will help policymakers and the Ministry of Education in Pakistan to focus more on human resource development, interpersonal development, communication and technology management training, and support programs, especially for school teachers as the foundation of the next and future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of the application of discovery learning models with blended learning strategies assisted by Crossword Puzzle media on the ability to understand students' physics concepts by choosing. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design consisting of 1 experimental class as a sample class which was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge. The data obtained were in the form of understanding students' physics concepts on the material of vibration, waves, and sound which were netted using a multiple-choice test sheet as many as 20 items. The overall research results show that the application of discovery learning models with blended learning strategies assisted by Crossword Puzzle media has a significant effect on students' ability to understand physics concepts which is shown by proving the hypothesis test that the value of t table> t count which states that the lowest student learning outcomes are 75, where from the total sample of 69 respondents, 82.61% or 57 respondents scored above 75.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze (1) Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) profile of IPA teachers in teaching science in terms of PCK component in pentagon model (2) constraint of PCK science teacher in teaching science. The PCK component consists of five components including: Component K1 (teaching orientation), K2 (knowledge of Curriculum), K3 (knowledge of students), K4 (knowledge of learning strategy) and K5 (knowledge of assessment). The research is a qualitative with phenomenology approach. The subject of the research was a science teacher at SMPN 4 Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques in this study using documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis phase using Miles and Huberman model. Test the validity of the data used triangulation technique. Based on the research results revealed PCK teacher profile: K1 component is science learning oriented to develop the cognitive, psychomotor and affective aspects of students by applying constructivism learning theory, K2 component that is understanding the curriculum 2013 and apply it to learning but conducted development on objectives, content and learning materials, K3 component: identify that students do not experience misconception and in managing the classroom asking the students who have the advantage to help other students, K4 component is applying discovery learning model with scientific approach 5M (observing, asking, collecting data, associating and creating), K5 component is the assessment of the students covering 3 aspects (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) with assessment methods of quetion and observation, and teachers do not experience PCK constraints in teaching Water Pollution Material. In the next research is expected to reveal three other teacher competencies.

Abstract

The development of electronic students’ worksheet assisted by flip PDF professional is used to develop students' HOTS in science lessons. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid, practical, and effective electronic students’ worksheet assisted by flip PDF professionals. The research method used is ADDIE model development research starting from the analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate stages. Data analysis techniques used in the study include validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Based on the results of data analysis obtained from several validators, it shows that the developed electronic students’ worksheet obtained an average percentage score of 93% with a very valid and good category to use. The results of practicality in the use of electronic students’ worksheet when learning obtained a percentage of 88.7% with a good category. In knowing the increase in students' HOTS, the N-Gain test was carried out and obtained a value of 0.65 with moderate criteria, which means that the electronic students’ worksheet assisted by flip PDF professionals is quite effective in increasing students' HOTS. The results of student responses to the use of the developed electronic students’ worksheet showed an average percentage score of 58.94%. Based on the analysis results obtained, the electronic students’ worksheet assisted by flip PDF professionals in science lessons to improve students' higher order thinking skills is feasible to use.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills is one of the key factors to face the opportunities and challenges of life in the industrial era 4.0. However, this skill has not been trained properly. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to analyze the effectiveness of science handouts on the material diversity of living things to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study uses formative evaluation with Tessmer Model, which is limited to small group and field tests. The trial used a one group pretest and posttest design, for a small group test on 12 students and a field test on 20 class VIII students of SMPN 1 Sungai Durian. Collecting data through critical thinking tests and interviews. The results of the research on the small group and field tests showed: (1) students' skills in interpretation, analysis, explanation, evaluation, and inference were initially low to moderate; and (2) students' critical thinking skills increased significantly at = 5%, with n-gain in the moderate criteria. Thus, the science handout based on critical thinking skills that was developed is effectively used in science learning.
