Abstract

This study is aimed at producing a learning tool for statistics of junior high school using realistic mathematics education approach which includes valid and practical lesson plans (RPP) and students worksheets (LKS) to develop mathematical literacy skills. This development research refers to the 4-D development model from Thiagarajan which consists of define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The test subjects were seventh grader students of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. The data ware obtained using validation sheets by experts and students response questionnaire sheets. It is found that the result of expert validation for RPP is 3.84 (very valid) and for LKS 3.52 (very valid). The students worksheet has suited the practicality requirements with the percentage of student responses reaching 88.57%. It can be concluded that the RPP and LKS have fulfilled valid and practical requirements.

Abstract

This study aims to produce android mobile learning application using appy pie software on temperature and heat materials as a valid physics learning media for senior high school. Research was conducted in Physics Education Laboratory of Riau University. This research is a type of research and development using research design adapted from ADDIE instructional model with Analysis, Design and Develop stage only. Data in this research is validation score from validator with research instrument used is validation quisioner. The data collection technique used is observation by using validation sheet with data analysis technique is descriptive analysis. Each component of android mobile learning applications using appy pie software on temperature and heat material is valid if it has an average score > 2.50 which is in high or very high category. The results of this research indicate that the application of mobile learning "Temperature and Heat" obtained a total validity value of 3.49 and is in very high category. Thus it concluded that mobile learning application "Temperature and Heat" is a valid physics learning media and feasible use in the learning process.

Abstract

Education can be obtained through school, in each school the implementation in learning uses guidelines which are in the form of a curriculum. Learning of the curriculum of 2013 is learning that links core competencies’ and indicator that are put together from several subjects. Observation results found that the implementation of the curriculum 2013 learning still appear difficult in correlating subjects with themes. Purpose of the research to describe the implementation of the 2013 curriculum at elementary school. The research method used is descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were all students of grade elementary school 03 Langsat Permai that consists of 23 students. Data collection techniques that has been collected soberly without any intention to make generalizations from results of the research. The results of the study in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum learning in grade 5 in public elementary school of 03 Langsat Permai were in accordance with the learning tools made by the teacher and students learning activities were good such as observing, reading, writing, practicing and trying.

Abstract

The kind of this research is a Classroon Action Research. The purpose of this research is to increase the motivation and study result of students in Mathematics Education study program FKIP UNRI who follow the Linear Program course by applying the Implementation of Brainstorming method. Learning is carried out by applying the implementation of the Brainstorming method through five stages: (1) providing information and motivation (orientation); (2) identification (analysis); (3) classification (synthesis); (4) verification and (5) conclusion (agreement). The subject of this research 40 students which follow was conducted in two cycles, from cycle I to cycle II. The results show that there was an increase of students‟learning motivation almost in all indicators. The percentage of students who scored „very good‟, increasing from 10% to 20% and the percentage of students who scored „good‟, increasing from 20% to 27.5%. The percentage of students who scored „good enough‟ and „deficient‟ decreased respectively from 32.5% to 25% and from 27.5% to 17.5%. While the percentage of students who scored “very deficient” is permanent.

Abstract

This study aims to improve communication skills and critical thinking by implementing inquiry-based learning and carried out through classroom action research. This study was carried out on even semester students of earth physics courses in Riau physics education study program totaling 35 people in the 2017/2018 school year. Data collected through observation sheets and understanding concepts that were analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results of the data analysis concluded that there was an increase in communication skills by 20%. The results of the analysis of critical thinking for cycle I with 2.9% were categorized as very good and for the less well with 25.7% while for cycle II the category was very good with 40% increasing to 37.1%. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the ability of communication skills and critical thinking of students increases. This means that inquiry-based learning can improve communication skills and critical thinking in physics education students.

Abstract

Teaching material is a complete elaboration of the main material written in the curriculum or syllabus. Choosing and developing teaching materials is a must that is done by teachers. So that learning is in accordance with the learning objectives to be achieved. Choosing teaching materials is not just about collecting teaching material, but it must fulfill what is needed by students so that an effective, systematic and interesting learning process will be created. Likewise for English for Specific Purposes class, teaching English at agribusiness major of the University of PasirPengaraianwas still has problem in providing suitable teaching material. The purpose of this research wereto describe Agribusiness students’ goals in learning English What do students’ needs toward English teaching material. This research implemented research and development research design with the respondent of 52 students. The result of research showed that most of students expected that they could master English vocabulary related to Agribusiness and they needed in English teaching material discusses more about specific vocabulary but less portion for grammar. In addition, they also need the teaching material covered four English skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimization of local revenue management in improving the economy in the village. Based on the research objectives, this research is a type of Mixed Methods research. According to Creswell (2007) research using mixed methods is a research approach by combining qualitative and quantitative research. Data collection methods in this study were conducted with interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The data collected is qualitative data and numbers. Data analysis techniques are the process of simplifying data in a form that is easier to read and implement. Data analysis using multiple regression analysis method with hypothesis testing and descriptive analysis. The form of multiple regression equations is formulated in a regression equation about the management of regional original income abbreviated as PAD village to increase the village economy. The results of the study revealed that the management of village PAD carried out by the Village Government was in accordance with its management procedures. Increased rural economic development due to optimal management of the Village PAD, so that the welfare of the people in the village can increase. In general, the management of PAD Desa is in accordance with management in general, starting from planning, organizing, monitoring and accountability. Based on interviews conducted, the Village Government has always set a strategy to coordinate with all actors, especially managers and the Village Government and BPD. With good coordination and cooperation on the management of the Village PAD, the aim of improving the village economy can be done well.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning outcomes in Number Theory course. The improvements made were by applying the 5E Learning Cycle learning model. Learning Cycle 5E is based on constructivist learning theory. According to constructivist theory one must build his own knowledge. This 5E Learning Cycle Learning follows 5 stages: 1.Engagement, 2 Exploration, 3.Explanation, 4. Elaboration, 5. Evaluation. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, with sequences of activities, initial reflection, action planning, and implementation of actions, observation and reflection. At the end of each cycle a quiz is carried out, which is useful to observe the development of student learning outcomes from conventional learning to learning by applying the 5E Learning Cycle. The results of observations show improvements in student activities and interactive learning. Analysis of student learning outcomes data also showed an increase in average learning outcomes, namely 57.8 in conventional learning to 64 at the end of cycle 1 by implementing 5E Learning Cycle and becoming 70.8 at the end of the second cycle.
