International Journal of Research in Counseling and Education (IJRiCE) ISSN: 2620-5769 (Electronic), ISSN: 2620-5750 (Print), is a peer-reviewed, counseling and education journal published by Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) in collaboration with Indonesian Counselor Association (IKI). The aim of IJRiCE is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of counseling and education and featuring articles that advance the empirical, theoretical, and methodological understanding of counseling and education. It was first published in 2017 with print and online in Vol. 1, No. 1 November 2017.

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe problem children, with a sample of 52 child convicts. In-depth interview techniques with counseling approaches, focused discussions and questionnaires were used for data collection. Data analysis used content analysis techniques and descriptive analysis. This research is the result of the first year of research planned for three years. The results of the study show that: child convicts are in a critical age, a period of seeking identity; have a low education background; very rarely interact socially with their father and mother; Child convicts have various unmet needs in their families. Their needs include: psychological needs, physical needs, social needs, future needs, information needs, and the need to live in character and culture. It is recommended that the results of the first year research be used to determine the right education model for child convicts to lead a moral and characterized life.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effect of videoscribe for improving reading fluently ability for student with learning disability. This research uses single subject research (SSR) experiment, A-B-A design and data analysis technique using visual graph analysis. The subject of this research is student with learning disability. Target behavior in this study is the speed of reading fluently in short discourse text. Observations were conducted in three sessions. First is baseline session (A1), second, interventions through media videoscribe (B) and last session baseline (A2). Based on the results of research, we knew that the ability of children in reading fluently can be increased through videoscribe. At the baseline condition (A1), the reading fluently ability of the student increases from the duration of four point five minutes to four minutes. In intervention condition (B), the duration becomes shorter in one minute. At the baseline condition (A2) the duration becomes shorter, even without any intervention. Based on data analysis, it can be explained that direction tendency, stability tendency, data trending trend, and level change increase positively, and overlape percentage on inter-condition analysis is 0%. It can be concluded that the media videoscribe can improve reading fluently ability for student with learning disability.]]>

<![CDATA[Purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the approach Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy setting group in overcoming the anxiety of students facing exams at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung. This type of research is quantitative using an experimental approach.The research subjects were students of class VIII.2, amounting to 10 students, with moderate, high and low levels of anxiety. The instrument used was Anxiety Questionnaire using a model Likert scale. Data analysis using descriptive statistics Wilcoxon Single Rank with 20.00 SPSS test. The results of the study show that in general the group activities using the approach REBT effectively change the anxiety of students facing exams. Specifically: (1) Describe the form of anxiety students face in examinations before treatment (pre-test), (2) Describethe form of students' anxiety in facing the test after treatment (post-test), and (3) Testingthe effectiveness of the approach Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy settings to group to overcome students' anxiety in facing examinations in junior high school.]]>

<![CDATA[Senior students bullying juniors is one of the problems related to senior perceptionsof the familiarization to the school environment and peer social support, and the purpose of this study was to reveal relationship between these variables. This study uses a correlational method and has a sample of 202 students, who were found using techniques Proportional Random Sampling. Data were collected using a scale measuring senior perceptionsof the familiarization to the school environment (31 valid items = 0.914), a scale measuring peer social support (29 valid items = 0.873), and scale measuringbullying to junior (29 items valid = 0.902). Data were analyzed by multiple regression, and the results showed a correlation coefficient R = 0.089 and p = 0.00 (p> 0.05). The results showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between senior perceptions of familiarization to the school environment and peer social support with bullying to juniors.]]>

<![CDATA[In adolescence, the competence of interpersonal relations develops and increase. However, students still face some problems during puberty. These include being ostracized, mocking each other, an unpleasant class atmosphere, isolations, and selfishness. To overcome these problems, guiding and counseling services are needed. Nevertheless, for it to be effective, it is important to understand students' interpersonal issues accurately. The purpose of this study therefore was to describe the nature of interpersonal relationships among students in junior high school. The sample population consisted of 133 junior high school students selected by proportional random sampling technique. Furthermore the instrument used is the scale of interpersonal relations with reliability 0.881. Data analysis used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The results therefore showed interpersonal relationships among students were advanced, having an average score of 206.77 and anachievement rate of 78%. The findings of this study might be used by counselors to improve students' interpersonal relationships.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is aimed at developing and testing the Application of Forgiveness Management Module on University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) trainee counselors. The main focus of the study is focused on the module development process and the effect of the module on the emotional, cognitive and behavioral aspects of an individual. The study was conducted using a qualitative and quantitative combination method. The sample of the study consisted of 8 UNIMAS counseling students. The Instrument Level of Anger Scale (LAS) and Tendency Forgive Scale (TTFS) are used to identify the appropriate study sample to follow this module. The built-in Forgiveness Management module has a high authenticity value of 82.2%. In addition, the reliability test of this module has a high coefficient of Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.884. This proves that participants have learned new knowledge better understanding the concept of forgiveness than before following the modules that have been conducted.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study wasto examine consumer consumption behavior in shopping online. It also aimed to establishthe factors promoting students desires to transact online. Importantly, the study used qualitative research methods. The results showed that consumption behaviorswere not based on needs but rather the desires, they are easily influenced by friends and follow the latest trends, discounts, or promos in the online shop. There are other additional factors with significant influence of consumption patterns. These include price, convenience, trust, availability of goods, and the promotions attractingtheirattention. Therefore, counselors should utilize information services, group guidance, and individual counseling services to regulate students behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Group Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy approach in reducing learning burnout experienced by students due to irrational thoughts. This research is a quantitative analysis that uses the method of Quasi-Experiment through the design of The Non-Equivalent Control Group. The subjects in this study were class VIII-1 students as the experimental group and class VIII-8 students as the control group. The instrument used is a learning burnout scale with the validity of 0.273 (Pearson Product Moment) and reliability of 0.936 (Alpha Cronbach). Data analysis was conducted using nonparametric statistics with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov 2 Independent Samples. The results of this study show that the REBT approach in a group setting is effective for reducing student learning burnout. This can be seen from the score of student learning burnout in the experimental group, which experienced a greater and more significant decline than the control group.]]>

<![CDATA[Cases of domestic violence that occur in Indonesia have increased every year, one of the causes is due to the patriarki culture that is still inherent in society, where men are considered superiority over women. This condition makes women vulnerable to become victims of domestic violence. Other conditions that cause a person to accept violence are caused by economic, educational, socio-cultural, infidelity, and third-party interference. This article aims to provide an overview of non-psychological conditions that affect the acceptance of violence in victims of domestic violence by using the method of literature study as well as the approaches that can be done by counselors discussed further. ]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to find out how the dynamics of forgiveness of domestic violence victims. Anything that is the reason for the victim chooses to provide forgiveness and maintain the relationship of his household. The method used in this article is the library research method. The results of this study indicate that victims of domestic violence choose to provide forgiveness because it is influenced by certain factors. This factor becomes a force of the victim to maintain his household relationship. As for some of these factors, such as the presence of children, feeling ashamed to report the treatment of their husbands, not having a job so that they depend on living fully with their husbands and considering the length of marriage that has been fostered together.]]>
