International Journal of Research in Counseling and Education (IJRiCE) ISSN: 2620-5769 (Electronic), ISSN: 2620-5750 (Print), is a peer-reviewed, counseling and education journal published by Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) in collaboration with Indonesian Counselor Association (IKI). The aim of IJRiCE is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of counseling and education and featuring articles that advance the empirical, theoretical, and methodological understanding of counseling and education. It was first published in 2017 with print and online in Vol. 1, No. 1 November 2017.

<![CDATA[Learning activities are a learning effort by students in physical, mental, intellectual, and emotional aspects from the to hard observed activities that happened inside or outside the classroom. This study describes students learning activities that will impact on student learning outcomes. The method used is descriptive-analysis with a 167 students sample that using proportional random sampling technique, used a questionnaire . The instrument used is a questionnaire. The result of the research is it includes the students learning activities in Junior High school in the medium category which comprises learning activities before learning in school, learning during school, and after learning in school. The implications of this research can be a reference and input for Counselor to improve students learning activities at 19 Junior High school in Bandung.]]>

These problems affect or even determine the quality of student learning outcomes. The Role of Guidance and Counseling, among them in the form of Content Mastery Services is needed to overcome these problems. This role becomes the main task of school counselors to optimize student learning outcomes. This article is a literature review. <![CDATA[The right sexual identity, if a person is interested to the opposite sex. In fact, there are still some students who are known as homosexual. This article is aimed to define the sexual identity of students based on behavior, style and interest. This study utilized quantitative approach with descriptive type. The populations of the research were students of Universitas Negeri Padang 2017 and 2018 generation in amount of 15.752, and sample counted were 385 students (by using Taro Yamane formula and continued with Multistage Random Sampling Technique. The researcher employed instrument which isSexual Identity scale, model Gutman. After being analyzed with descriptive technique, the researcher got result that generally students tended to identify their sexual identity as heterosexual based on interest, behavior, and style. Counselor is hoped to be able to help students whom are identified as homosexual to the right direction(heterosexual) by giving counseling services needed by sexual identity.]]>

<![CDATA[Interest in learning can help students in learning activities and get satisfying results. The phenomenon that occurs is the low student learning outcomes because of a lack of interest in learning possessed by students. This study measures student interest in the vocational high school (SMK) learning. This study involved 154 students. The instrument in the study was in the form of a learning interest questionnaire with a Likert model scale. Data were analyzed using the Rasch Model approach. The results showed that the learning interest of some students was in the medium category. In addition, there were 30 students who provided answers or showed outliers. As for the quality of the learning interest instrument used, it is good to be used to identify student interest in learning, we can see this from the reliability value of 0.97. The findings show that overall student interest in learning is in the medium category.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was to describe the educational contribution in family and about being active while participating extracurricular on prosocial behavior of students in SMK Negeri 6 Padang. This research applied descriptive quantitative method. The population was 903 students in X and XI grade at SMK Negeri 6 Padang and 278 students as the sample were selected using proportional random sampling techniques. The instruments used was questionnaire. The data were analyzed with regression statistics, simple and double regressions. The data analysis was assisted using the SPSS 20.0 program. The study showed that: (1) the average of prosocial behavior was in the high category, (2) education in family was in the high category, there were 28% contribution of education in family to prosocial behavior, (3) the activity in participating extracurricular was in the high category, there were 16.2% contributions of activeness to participate in participative extracurricular on students’ prosocial behavior, (4) there were 31.5% contributions of both educational contribution in family and participative extracurricular on students’ prosocial behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[The problem of this research was soccer player shooting ability of Soccer School Batuang Taba still low. It can be seen from the decreasing of their achievement that happened in Soccer School Batuang Taba. The aim of this study is to reveal the direct impact of Concentration, on Shooting ability of soccer player. This research method is quantitive by using Path Analysis approach. Population are 19 soccer players of U-15 Soccer School Batuang Taba. The sample technique is done by Proportionate Random Sampling, so the participants became 17 soccer players. The instrument was shooting ability test. Grid Concentration, exercise for measuring Concentration. Technique of data analysis used with Path Analysis. The result of research and data analysis showed that: Concentration has a direct and significant effect on Shooting ability of 12.25%.]]>

<![CDATA[LKPD used in school had not been optimal in helping students to improve the mathematical representation ability. It happened because the used LKPD was giving a less opportunity to the students to solve the mathematical representation problems. One of the solutions to do about that problem is to develop LKPD-Modeling Eliciting Activities (MEAs) based approach. The purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical and effective LKPD-MEAs based approach to improve the students’ mathematical representation. This study is a development research using Plomp model which consists of Preliminary Research, Development or Prototyping and Assessment Phase. The subjects of this study were X grade students of SMAN 3 Padang. The instruments used were LKPD validation sheets, teacher’s response questionnaires, students’ response questionnaires and test. The result of this study is a valid, practical and effective LKPD-MEAs based approach with an average of each is 0,728, 85,39 and 82,41.]]>

<![CDATA[The problems seen so far that at each level of tested questions requires different mathematical communication ability. Generally obtained the results of identification if the higher level of mathematics problems, the more the ability of mathematical communication explored student so that learning will become more meaningful. But Students work sheet used in the learning facilitate students’ to develop their mathematical communication ability. One alternative to overcome this is by designing LKPD based on the Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) approach. This study porpuse to test LKPD practicability based on MEAs approach that has been validated by mathematicians, language and education technology. From the result of questionnaire respond learners and teachers obtained practical value 87.4% and 88.24% with very practical criteria. LKPD MEAs according to the students have very practical use because it can improve the mathematical communication ability, the material in LKPD can be understood for the achievement of learning objectives.]]>

<![CDATA[The effectiveness of sharing and jumping based didactical design of covalent bonding has been studied at chemistry senior high school. Learning based sharing task is a learning that deals to cover content of text book. Sharing task facilitate jumping process for the low achiever students. The challenging problems are given in jumping tasks activity to challenge the high achiever students. The purpose of this study was to obtain the didactical design of covalent bondings and their implementation.The research method applied is Didactical Design Research (DDR) with following stages: analysis of didactic situation before learning, metapedadidactical analysis, and retrospective analysis. Implementation of lesson design on the topic of covalent bonding were recorded and analyzed, from the analysis result obtained the collaboration between students and between students and teachers.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the learning materials which can be used to enhance student’s understanding of stoichiometry is module based on problem solving. The background of this study is based on interviews to some students who have studied stoichiometry. They stated that the teaching materials used were less interesting and less involved students actively in understanding concept. The aim of this study is to produce learning module and then tested the validity, practicality, and effectiveness so that it can be used in chemistry learning. The type of this research is Research and Development (R&D). Development model used is 4-D model (define, design, develop and disseminate). This module was validated by 4 experts and then was tested to 2 chemistry teachers and 31 students of X Science Grade of SMA N 5 Padang. The data show that this problem solving based module on stoichiometry which has been produced are valid, practical, and effective.]]>
