EduBasic Journal: Jurnal Pendididkan Dasar (e-ISSN: 2549-4562) merupakan jurnal open-access yang bertujuan menjadi wadah publikasi penelitian di bidang pengembangan pembelajaran pada tingkat pendidikan dasar dan anak usia dini. EduBasic Journal: Jurnal Pendididkan Dasar mengundang para penulis untuk menerbitkan naskahnya dalam bahasa inggris maupun bahasa indonesia untuk dapat diakses masyarakat ilmiah secara gratis guna mendukung pertukaran keilmuan secara global yang lebih luas. EduBasic Journal: Jurnal Pendididkan Dasar diterbitkan oleh Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Kampus Serang secara online dua nomor terbitan setiap tahun pada bulan April and Oktober . <![CDATA[Elementary schools in Indonesia have been implementing the 2013 Curriculum by using thematic learning. Teaching material that integrated with values and cultures is really needed since considering the conservative role of the curriculum as a means of relevant values and culture and the evaluative role that supports the choice of values and culture that will be inherited. Local wisdoms have been chosen as an inheritage culture for generations. One of them is the Baduy community in Banten. Baduy is one of unique tribe living in harmony with nature and avoiding the life of the modern world. This research tried to explore how to integrate the local wisdom of the Baduy community into a thematic teaching material. Researchers used qualitative research with ethnographic design with case study method. The data were collected by the triangulation technique and were analyzed using the Spradley model. The result described that the values of the local wisdom of the Baduy community in the form of preserving nature, humility, and mutual cooperation can be integrated into teaching material with through product model. For the maximum results, it can be supported by lesson plan, media, and the teacher's ability to present the teaching materials.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed to review the professionalism of teachers in the face of the learning characters of elementary school students. In the learning process, a teacher's role was critical. Thus, teachers need to be professional in managing learning in the classroom in terms of media management, models and learning resources. This study used mixed methods approach between qualitative and quantitative. This research used online poll instruments and spread to 24 respondents. Respondents were taken from teachers at the elementary school level. The steps in this study were (1) the formulation of the problem (2) looking for the theory foundation, (3) the poll instrument formulation, (4) the distribution of polls, (5) data presentation and (6) drawing conclusions and suggestions. The results revealed that the elementary school teacher had a variety of methods and action in the learning such as the use of discussion, demonstration, lecturing and problem solving methods with a variety of specific reasons. The character of learners became the first consideration on implementing the variety of methods and action. So, the learning process tended to become more varied. The expectation of this research could capture teacher’s performance and give basis to improve the teachers’ profesionalism in the classrooms teaching and learning process.]]>

<![CDATA[Mathematics is one of the subjects studied by students from elementary school to university level. Therefore, mathematics becomes one of the scientific foundations at the basic level. There are some errors that are most often found in learning mathematics in the early grades of elementary school. One of them is related to understanding symbols, place values, process errors and mistakes in doing calculations. The problem is caused because the learning model provided by the teacher is still abstract. The purpose of this research is to provide alternatives learning option with to the design of realistic mathematics education learning or learning based on real life on multiplication material. This writing uses the study of literature from various scientific sources related to the problem. It is hoped that educators can apply mathematical learning models based on the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMRI) or RME (Realistic Mathematics Educatio) non multiplication material by using learning designs based on students' real lives or learning designs. The article shows that there is potential for PMRI design to be used to improve the multiplication ability of elementary school students.]]>

<![CDATA[Video media can help students in effectively understanding to abstract concepts. Many students did not perform their work and difficult to understand the abstract concept of the animals’ life cycle. The lack of understanding was caused by the lack interactive and conventional material delivery by the teacher. Teacher tried to improve students’ learning outcomes by developing strategies in learning science through videos. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the use of video media on the animals’ life cycle material on fourth grade learning outcomes. This quantitative research used quasi experimental design with pre-test and post-test by using a written test as instrument. The subjects of this study were students of class A and B of fourth grade of Mugarsari Elementary School. Based on the findings, the implementations of learning through videos positively enhance learning outcomes. By well-designed research plan and implementation of activities through learning videos, the students’ learning outcomes of experimental class improved. The the average score of experimental class learning outcomes by using video media is higher than the control class without using video media. Based on testing the hypothesis using the SPSS program version 20.0, t obtained 2.127 was higher than table of 2.034 with a significant level (α = 0.05). <![CDATA[Student’ activities play an important role in classroom learning activities. Student activities also affect student learning achievement, if the child is active then the possibility of achievement is also good. Unfortunately,  not all students are active in learning activities. The problem of low student activity occurs at State Elementary School 2 of Medini. The lack of students who ask questions or express opinions showed the activities of students were classified as low. This problem may disturb learning process and can affect student achievement. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in student activity through the Student Teams Achievement Division model assisted by Utaku media. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects of the study were the fourth grade students of State Elementary School 2 of Medini. The instrument used was a student activity observation sheet. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis technique. The results showed an increase on students’ learning activities in the first cycle obtained an average value of 74 and in the second cycle increased to 85. Based on the results of CAR conducted in forth grade of State Elementary School 2 of Medini it can be concluded that the use of the STAD model assisted by Utaku media can increase student activity.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to prove the existence of a positive correlation between students’ self-regulated learning and mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students and to know the magnitude of the contribution of self-regulated learning to the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students in Buluspesantren. This research was a quantitative research by correlational method. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique with the help of SPSS application version 18. The number of samples in this study was 266 students in eleven State Elementary Schools throughout the Buluspesantren district. The data retrieval used questionnaires and tests. Data analysis used Pearson product moment correlation test with a significance level of 0.05 and used effective contributions. In testing the correlation, it was obtained sig = 0.000 (sig 0.05), meaning that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-regulated learning and mathematics learning outcomes which showed the higher the self-regulated learning skill of students, the higher the mathematics learning outcomes of students. On the other hand, the lower the self-regulated learning skill of students, the lower the mathematics learning outcomes of students. Self-regulated learning skill contributed to mathematics learning outcomes by 20.35%. The results of this study were in accordance with existing theories and are also supported by relevant research]]>

<![CDATA[Education is one of the instruments of change and national civilization, especially related to human values and mental attitudes. The teacher is an activator, motivator and evaluator of education so that its existence must always be in a quality position. For that reason, it is necessary to conduct sustainable professionalism development as a form of optimizing the teachers’ role and function of in school or madrasah as formal institutions. By this ideal fuction, the authors see the spirit of optimism by educational world to encourage the formation of a fully prosperous civil society. This research investigated how the policy of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Banten Province in improving the professionalism of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers. This research used a qualitative method by documentary studies based on reports on activities carried out by the Madrasah Education Division in 2018 and in depth-interviews to the Heads of Madrasah Education Division and the Section Heads of Madrasah Education Division. Based on the results of data analysis, this study concluded that the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Banten Province has held three valuable programs related to enhance the teachers’ professionalism. They were strengthening the competence of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers through various program and pedagogical activities, increasing managerial competence by several trainings and increasing teachers’ welfare through providing financial incentive, and conducting scientific competitions.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effect of the Jarimatika method on the ability of multiplication in fourth grade of elementary school students. This research focused on the use of Jarimatika to assist students in solving numeracy multiplication problem questions. This is based on factual condition where students have not been able to work on the number multiplication and also the monotonous learning methods implemented made learning mathematics feels difficult. This research employed an experimental method with a quasi experimental design in the form of nonequivalent control group design. The experimental group treated by Jarimatika, while the control group used the conventional methods of expository, question and answer and rote method. Data collection techniques in this study used tests. Research data are presented using descriptive statistical data analysis techniques. The research shows that there is an increase in the average of pretest and posttest score of the experimental group. Based on the t-test results obtained, the t obtained value of 6.966 is greater than t table of 2,056 (6,966 2,056) and a significance value of 0,000 is less than 0.05 (0,000 0.05) at a significance level of 5%. Based on the results of the t test, it showed a significant influence on the use of Jarimatika on multiplication learning outcomes in forth grade students of elementary schools.]]>

<![CDATA[Paragraph writing is important for students in all level. However, it is considered to be difficult for elementary students. This study was set to identify the potential of video blog as an instructional media to enhance writing skill in elementary school. Video blog would function as instructional media in bahasa Indonesia learning. The study included fifth grader students in Marsudirini Elementary Schol and Widya Wacana. Elementary School. Data was collected via questionnaire. This descriptive study was conducted in the 2019 academic year. Findings showed that the teachers were not using instructional media in the class during bahasa Indonesia learning process in the class. The students were mostly used to watch video blog. The students stated the benefit of watching video blog as having better understanding and comprehension of the content. Video blog has potential to be instructional media in bahasa Indonesia learning in elementary school especially in paragraph writing.]]>

<![CDATA[Parenting style is a way that parents use in trying various strategies to encourage children to achieve the desired goals. Parenting style is a reflection of parental behavior that is applied to children. It affects the learning achievement in schools, especially for elementary school children. This study aimed to determine (1) the relationship between parenting style with Civics learning outcomes, and (2) the parenting style applied by parents in democratic, authoritarian and permissive types. This research was conducted at State Primary School 2 of Caracas in 2018/2019 academic year. This research used a quantitative approach with the correlation method analysis. The subjects were 38 students in fifth grade. The data collection techniques were in the form of observation and questionnaires. The hypothesis test of this research was the product moment correlation coefficient analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between parenting style with Civic learning outcomes of fifth grade students of State Primary School 2 of Caracas with a correlation of 12.1%. The correlation between parenting style and democratic type was 17%, authoritarian type was 13.1% and permissive type was 12.2%. This study proposed parents to adjust and observed their parenting style by looking at their children learning outcomes.]]>
