Abstract

Abstract: Integrated STEM 3.0 Approach to Enhance Critical Thinking Skills: An Empirical Evidence. Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of the STEM 3.0 approach assisted by real material and virtual simulation to enhance the CTS. Methods: The research method used Quasi-Experimental Designs with Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were high school students of Class XI in Surabaya. Findings: Based on the research data, the increase in the CTS of students in the 2 experimental classes was classified as moderate with an average n-gain value of students in class A2 of 0.69 and class A5 of 0.63 while the increase in CTS in the control class was classified as moderate with a lower value (a score of 0.36). Based on the results of statistical tests, there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Conclusion: Thus, it is concluded that the integrated STEM 3.0 approach can enhance the CTS.Keywords: integrated STEM 3.0, CTS, real material, virtual simulations.Abstrak: Pendekatan STEM 3.0 Terintegrasi untuk meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis: Suatu Bukti Empirik. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pendekatan STEM 3.0 yang dibantu dengan materi nyata dan simulasi virtual untuk meningkatkan CTS. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi-Experimental Designs with Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA kelas XI. Temuan: Berdasarkan data penelitian, peningkatan CTS siswa pada 2 kelas eksperimen tergolong sedang dengan rata-rata nilai n-gain siswa kelas A2 sebesar 0,69 dan kelas A5 sebesar 0,63 sedangkan peningkatan CTS pada siswa kelas A2 sebesar 0,69 dan kelas A5 sebesar 0,63. kelas kontrol tergolong sedang dengan nilai lebih rendah (skor 0,36). Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Abstract

Abstract: YouTube as a Web-Based Instructional Tool in Higher Education in Technology Enabled Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Objectives: YouTube became an alternative to face-to-face teaching during COVID-19, although its use among Bachelor of Science in Criminology students is sparse. This study evaluated YouTube as an instructional tool for Technology-Enabled Learning (TEL). Methods: This survey randomly sampled 281 BS Criminology students. Frequency, mean, percentage, and ANOVA were used in analyzing the data. Findings: Results disclosed that the students utilized YouTube. However, females have a longer time of Youtube usage than males to search for information for academic studies and enrich their general knowledge. Demographics have no influence on the acceptability of YouTube for TEL. Higher acceptability of YouTube for TEL was seen among students who used it frequently and for an extended length of time. Conclusion: Using YouTube as a web-based instructional tool could improve students sociability, grades, motivation to learn, and curriculum delivery when utilized in TEL.Keywords: YouTube, acceptability, technology-enabled learning, online learning. Abstrak: Youtube sebagai Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Web dalam Pendidikan Tinggi: Pembelajaran Berbantuan Teknologi selama Pandemi Covid-19. Tujuan: YouTube menjadi alternatif pengajaran tatap muka selama COVID-19, meskipun penggunaannya di kalangan mahasiswa Bachelor of Science dalam Kriminologi masih jarang. Studi ini mengevaluasi YouTube sebagai alat instruksional untuk Technology-Enabled Learning (TEL). Metode: Survei ini mengambil sampel secara acak 281 mahasiswa BS Kriminologi. Frekuensi, mean, persentase, dan ANOVA digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Temuan: Hasil mengungkapkan bahwa siswa memanfaatkan YouTube. Namun, perempuan memiliki waktu penggunaan Youtube yang lebih lama dibandingkan laki-laki untuk mencari informasi studi akademis dan memperkaya pengetahuan umum mereka. Demografi tidak mempengaruhi penerimaan YouTube untuk TEL. Penerimaan yang lebih tinggi dari YouTube untuk TEL terlihat di antara siswa yang sering menggunakannya dan untuk waktu yang lama. Kesimpulan: Menggunakan YouTube sebagai alat pembelajaran berbasis web dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bersosialisasi, nilai, motivasi belajar, dan penyampaian kurikulum siswa ketika digunakan di TEL. Abstract

Abstract: The Importance of Quality of Work-Life on Teacher Organizational Citizenship Behavior: Consequences of Leader-Member Exchange and Organizational Commitment. Objective: The studys major goal was to look at the quality of work life, leader member exchange, and organizational commitment to organizational citizenship behavior of private high school instructors in Pematangsiantar City. Methods: This study employs a quantitative research strategy. Multiple regression testing, hypothesis testing using simultaneous and partial approaches, and correlation testing with the coefficient of determination are all used in data analysis. Findings: The results of this research explain that quality of work life, leader member exchange, and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Conclusion: The findings of this study confirm the quality of work life and leader member exchange for schools is to attract and maintain the work spirit of teachers. Furthermore, there is a strong organizational commitment within the individual, causing teacher OCB to run optimally.Keywords: quality of work-life,leader-member exchange, organizational commitment.Abstrak: Pentingnya Quality of Work-Life terhadap Organizational Citizenship Behaviour Guru: Konsekuensi Leader-Member Exchange dan Komitmen Organisasional. Objective: Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis quality of work life, leader member exchange, dan organizational commitment terhadap organizational citizenship behaviour guru SMA Swasta di Kota Pematangsiantar. Methods: Riset ini menggunakan rancang penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi berganda, pengujian hipotesis dengan metode simultan dan parsial serta uji korelasi dengan koefisien determinasi. Findings: Hasil dari riset ini menjelaskan quality of work life, leader member exchange, dan organizational commitment berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap organizational citizenship behaviour. Conclusion: Temuan penelitian ini mengkonfirmasi quality of work life dan leader member exchange bagi sekolah adalah untuk menarik dan mempertahankan semangat kerja para guru. Abstract

Abstract: Digital Literacy Ability towards Curiosity Level and Student Self-Determination. The purpose of this study was to analyze digital literacy skills on the level of curiosity and self-determination of students. This study uses a quantitative approach with statistical methods. The type of research used in this research is ex-post facto. The population in this study were students in Indonesia aged 17-22 years with a sample of 723 selected randomly. The instruments used are digital literacy measurement, the Curiosity measurement scale, and the self-determination measurement scale. Data analysis used statistical tests, namely the Mann-Whitney test and simple linear regression. The main result of this research is that there are differences in digital literacy and self-determination in terms of gender, but in the aspect of Curiosity there is no difference. Furthermore, there is a positive effect of digital literacy on curiosity and self-determination. The digital literacy prediction model for curiosity is Y is equal to 11.28 plus 0.38X and the digital literacy prediction model for self-determination is Y is equal to 25.77 plus 0.57X.Keywords: curiosity, self-determination, digital literacy, college students.Abstrak: Kemampuan Literasi Digital terhadap Tingkat Curiosity dan Determinasi Mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kemampuan literasi digital terhadap tingkat curiosity dan determinasi diri mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang pengolahan datanya dilakukan dengan metode statistik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ex-post facto. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa di Indonesia dalam usia 17–22 tahun dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 723 yang dipilih secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah digital literacy measurement, skala pengukuran Curiosity dan skala pengukuran determinasi diri. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik yaitu uji Mann Whitney dan Regresi Linier Sederhana. Hasil utama dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan literasi digital dan determinasi diri ditinjau dari jenis kelamin, tetapi dalam aspek Curiosity tidak ada perbedaan. Selanjutnya terdapat pengaruh positif literasi digital terhadap curiosity dan determinasi diri. Model prediksi literasi digital terhadap Curiosity adalah Y sama dengan 11,28 tambah 0,38X dan model prediksi literasi digital terhadap determinasi diri adalah Y sama dengan 25,77 plus 0,57X.Kata kunci: curiosity, determinasi diri, literasi digital, mahasiswa. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202224

Abstract

Abstract: Toward a Tripartite Model of EFL Students Learning Strategies, Epistemic Beliefs, and Their Online Learning Engagement. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to understand the link between these factors. This research explored the link among EFL students learning, beliefs about learning, learning strategies, and learning engagement since they are key factors in influencing them to learn English. Methods: This research applied quantitative research, notably correlational design among EFL epistemic belief, learning strategies which later is consisted of reading, speaking, and writing, and online learning engagement. Findings: The findings of structural equation modeling showed that EFL epistemic beliefs are associated with learning strategies and online learning engagement in a significant and positive way. Conclusion: Theoretical and methodological implications for studies of epistemic beliefs, learning strategies, and online learning engagement are explored.Keywords: tripartite model, EFL students, epistemic belief, learning strategies, online learning engagement.Abstrak: Model Tripartite Terhadap Strategi Pembelajaran, Keyakinan Epistemik, Strategi Pembelajaran, dan Keterlibatan Pembelajaran Online Siswa EFL. Tujuan: Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami hubungan antara faktor-faktor ini. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi hubungan antara pembelajaran siswa EFL, keyakinan tentang pembelajaran, strategi pembelajaran, dan keterlibatan belajar karena faktor tersebut adalah faktor kunci dalam mempengaruhi siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif yaitu korelasi tentang keyakinan epistemik mahasiswa, strategi pembelajaran membaca, berbicara, dan menulis, dan keterlibatan pembelajaran online. Temuan: Hasil dari pemodelan persamaan struktural mengungkapkan bahwa keyakinan epistemik mahasiswa memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dan positif dengan strategi pembelajaran dan keterlibatan pembelajaran online. Abstract

Abstract: Project-Based Activities through Lesson Study: Improvements of Creative Thinking Performance of Pre-Service Biology Teachers in Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to improve students creative thinking skills by applying project-based learning through lesson study. Method: This research uses classroom action research through lesson study with three open classes with a total of 16 subjects of departement biology education, Universitas Hamzanwadi . The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings: Student activity scores during the learning process from the first, second and third open classes were 73.62 percent, 80.09 percent and 84.72 percent there was an average increase in activity of 5.56 percent. Data on students’ creative thinking ability were obtained successively by 75 percent, 81.25 percent and 93.75 percent, there was an average increase of 9.38 percent. Conclusion: The application of project-based learning through lesson study can improve students creative thinking skills.Keywords: project-based learning, creative thinking, lesson study.Abstrak: Aktivitas-Aktivitas Berbasis Proyek melalui Lesson Study: Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Calon Guru Biologi di Indonesia. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis proyek melalui lesson study. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas melalui lesson studi dengan tiga open class dengan subyek berjumlah 16 orang mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi Universitas Hamzanwadi. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Temuan: Skor aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran dari open class pertama, kedua dan ketiga sebesar 73, 62 persen, 80,09 persen dan 84, 72 persen terdapat peningkatan rata rata aktivitas sebesar 5,56 persen. Data kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa diperoleh berturut turut sebesar 75 persen, 81,25 persen dan 93,75 persen, terjadi rata rata peningkatan sebesar 9,38 persen. Kesimpulan : Penerapan pembelajaran project based learning melalui lesson study dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa. Abstract

Abstract: The effect of observing entrepreneurial role models on critical thinking skills in entrepreneurship learning. Objectives: This research analyzes a PBL model by observing an entrepreneurial role models effect on the critical thinking skills in entrepreneurship learning at Vocational High School. Methods: This study uses quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The total population in this study was 463 students, and a sample of 60 students was obtained using a simple random sampling technique which was divided into two groups. This study uses an instrument essay questions tests in the form of pre-test and post-test. t-test analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis with a significance level of 5 percent. Findings: The results of the paired sample t-test obtained sig (2 tailed) 0.000 less than 0.05. Thus rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. Conclusion: Observing an entrepreneurial role model significantly affects the critical thinking skills in entrepreneurship learning at Vocational High School.Keywords: entrepreneurial role model, critical thinking skills, entrepreneurship learning.Abstrak: Pengaruh pelibatan role model kewirausahaan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran kewirausahaan. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan mengamati role model kewirausahaan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran kewirausahaan di SMK. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 463 siswa dan sampel sebanyak 60 siswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes soal essay berupa pre-test dan post-test. Analisis uji-t dilakukan untuk menguji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikansi 5 persen. Temuan: Hasil uji t sampel berpasangan diperoleh sig (2 tailed) 0,000 0,05. Dengan demikian menolak H0 dan menerima Ha. Abstract

Abstract: Effects of Learning by Analogy on Senior High School Students Achievement in Genetics in Ilorin, Nigeria. Genetics has been identified in literature as one of the hard-to-learn biological concepts despite its importance to human existence. Therefore, there is the need for students to have deep conceptual understanding of the concept. Objective: The effectiveness of analogy on proper understanding of scientific concepts abound in literature, hence, this study examined the effects of analogy instructional strategy on senior school student s’ achievement in genetics. Methods: The study was quasi-experimental with a sample of 112 students purposively selected from two intact classes. Data gathered were analysed using ANCOVA. Findings: Findings from the study revealed that a significant difference existed in the achievement of students taught genetics with analogy and those taught using the conventional teaching approach in favour of the analogy group (F(1, 109) is equal to 20.88, p Conclusion: It was therefore, recommended that biology teachers should adopt the use of analogy instructional strategy in teaching genetics and other difficult concepts in biology.Keywords: analogy, senior high school students, learning achievement, genetics.Abstrak: Pengaruh Pembelajaran dengan Analogi pada Prestasi Siswa Sekolah Menengah di Ilorin, Nigeria pada Materi Genetika. Genetika telah diidentifikasi dalam literatur sebagai salah satu konsep biologis yang sulit dipelajari meskipun penting bagi keberadaan manusia. Oleh karena itu, siswa perlu memiliki pemahaman konseptual yang mendalam tentang konsep tersebut. Tujuan: Efektivitas analogi pada pemahaman yang tepat dari konsep-konsep ilmiah berlimpah dalam literatur, oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menguji pengaruh strategi pembelajaran analogi pada prestasi siswa sekolah menengah pada materi genetika. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan sampel 112 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive dari dua kelas utuh. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan ANCOVA. Temuan: Temuan dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pencapaian siswa yang diajarkan genetika dengan analogi dan mereka yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan pengajaran konvensional yang mendukung kelompok analogi (F(1, 109) = 20,88, pKesimpulan: Oleh karena itu, direkomendasikan bahwa guru biologi harus mengadopsi penggunaan strategi pembelajaran analogi dalam mengajar genetika dan konsep-konsep sulit lainnya dalam biologi. Abstract

Abstract: Factors Affecting and Affected by Principal Leadership Effectiveness: A Systematic Literature Review. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the principals leadership by looking at the urgency of the principals leadership, the variables that affect the principals leadership and the variables that are influenced by the principals leadership. Methods: The research method used is the literature study method. The data obtained were then compiled and concluded based on the research objectives. Findings: The research findings show that the principals leadership plays a very important role in realizing educational goals. There are three variables that affect the principal’s leadership and eight variables that are influenced by the principal’s leadership. Conclusion: Recruitment of school principals must be in accordance with the rules and training for existing school principals is necessary. Mastery of the 4C formula must be owned by the principal.Keywords: effectiveness, principal leadership, systematic literature review.Abstrak: Faktor yang Mempengaruhi dan Dipengaruhi oleh Efektivitas Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah: Suatu Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan melihat urgensi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, variabel yang mempengaruhi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah serta variabel yang dipengaruhi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi kepustakaan. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya disusun dan disimpulkan berdasarkan tujuan penelitian. Temuan: Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan. Terdapat tiga variabel yang mempengaruhi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan delapan variabel yang dipengaruhi oleh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Kesimpulan: Rekrutmen kepala sekolah harus sesuai dengan aturan dan perlu dilakukan pelatihan bagi kepala sekolah yang ada. Penguasaan formula 4C mesti dimiliki oleh kepala sekolah. Abstract

Abstract: Enhancing Information Literacy Skills through Think Talk Write Online Learning Model. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model which is carried out online on students information literacy skills at the tertiary level. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research was conducted on students of Indonesia University of Education social studies program with a total of 250 people consisting of 125 people in the experimental group and 125 people in the control group. Findings: The results showed that Think, talk, and write activities have an impact on providing students with opportunities to read, process, and utilize various information. Conclusion: The conclusion is that the application of the TTW learning model has a higher effectiveness than the application of conventional learning models in terms of achieving student information literacy.Keywords: information literacy, Think Talk Write, online learning.Abstrak: Meningkatkan Keterampilan Literasi Informasi melalui Model Pembelajaran Online Think Talk Write. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keefektifan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) yang dilakukan secara online terhadap kemampuan literasi informasi siswa di tingkat perguruan tinggi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa program studi Sosial di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dengan jumlah 250 orang yang terdiri dari 125 orang pada kelompok eksperimen dan 125 orang pada kelompok kontrol. Temuan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas yang menerapkan pembelajaran TTW memiliki rata-rata nilai posttest literasi informasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas konvensional. Kegiatan berpikir, berbicara, dan menulis berdampak pada pemberian kesempatan kepada siswa untuk membaca, mengolah, dan memanfaatkan berbagai informasi. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulannya adalah penerapan model pembelajaran TTW memiliki efektivitas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan penerapan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam hal pencapaian literasi informasi siswa.Kata kunci: literasi informasi, Think Talk Write, pembelajaran online. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202225
