Abstract

This research aims to analyze farming income and sustainability of farming practices of coffee certification farmers and coffee non-certification farmers in Tanggamus Regency.  This research used survey method.  The numbers of samples in this research were 44 respondents of certification farmers and 24 respondents of non-certification farmers.  The data was collected from August 2017 to November 2017.  The data was analyzed by quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis.  The results showed that farming income of certification farmers were higher than non-certification farmers.  Socially and environmental sustainable farming practices of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Sustainability of economy, social and environmental aspects of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Total of farming income of certification farmers and non-certification farmers were Rp16,330,309 per hectare and Rp10,637,482 per hectare.  About 93.20% of certification farmers’s farming were sustainable, while about 91.70% of non-certification farmers’s farming were quite sustainable. Key words: certification, coffee, farming, sustainability

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of raskin (poor rice) policy toward household expenditurepattern and household response toward the policy of Raskin food card replacement in Bandar Lampung City. The numbers of respondents in this research were 137 respondents that were determined by accidental sampling method. The data was analyzed by descriptive analysis, different test and cross tabulation. The results showed that there was reduction of household expenditure burden for grainafter receiving Raskin subsidy that was equal to 4.69 percent. There was consumption escalation of vegetable protein sources (1%), animal protein sources (2.22%) and fruit (1%) of households in Bandar Lampung City after receiving Raskin subsidy. Household non-food expenditures, such as household needs, clothing, housing and telecommunications were increased by less than 1 percent. The factors that affected household responses in Bandar Lampung City to food card policy was the number of dependents and income, while the age and education of respondents did not affect the response of households in Bandar Lampung to Raskin card policy.Key words: expenditure pattern, food card, raskin

Abstract

This research aims to analyze certified and non-certified coffee agribusiness value chains found in West Lampung District, analyze the efficiency of certified and non-certified coffee agribusiness value chains and, the formulation of coffee price in the certified and non-certified coffee agribusiness value chains in West Lampung District. The study is conducted in three sub-districts namely Air Hitam, Kebun Tebu and Sumber Jaya. Total respondents coffee farmers are 146 coffee farmers, consist of 85 certified coffee farmers and 61 non certified coffee farmers’ chosen by cluster random sampling method. Total respondents are 20 sellers; consist of 9 group sellers’ collector, 7 local sellers’ collector, 2 wholesalers and 2 exporters chosen by snowball sampling method. Research data was collected in November 2016 to January 2017 and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research result showed that there were three channels in the agribusiness value chain of certified coffee and two channels in the agribusiness value chain of non-certified coffee. Channel three in the agribusiness value chain of certified coffee and channel two in the agribusiness value chain of non-certified coffee have been efficient with formulation process of price certified and non-certified coffee in the agribusiness value chain of coffee in West Lampung, the buyer was a price setter and the seller was as a price taker.Key words: certified coffee, non-certified coffee, value chain

Abstract

This research aims to analyze coffee farming income in Tanggamus District, behavior of coffee farmers in managing environmental risk, and factors that influence behavior of coffee farmers in managing environmental risk. This research was conducted in Sinar Sekampung Village, Air Naningan Sub-District and Gunung Meraksa Village, Pulau Panggung Sub-District in August 2017. The sample in this study involved 44 certification coffee farmers chosen using cluster random sampling method and 24 noncertification coffee farmers chosen using census method. The difference of coffee farming income is analyzed using Independent Sample t-test, while the difference of behavior is analyzed using Mann Whitney Test and the factors is analyzed using binary logistic regression. The results showed that there was no difference in coffee farmers income between certification farmers and noncertification coffee farmers. Sixty-three percents of certification coffee farmers were risk takers and 87,50% of nonacertification coffee farmers were risk neutral. Factors that influence behavior of coffee farmers in managing environmental risk were land area, coffee farming income, and participation of farmers in 4C certification program.Key words: coffee certification, environmental risk, coffee farming income

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance of mangosteen farming and certification benefits of sustainable mangosteen farming development in terms of economic, social, and environmental aspects.  The location of the research is decided purposely in Terdana, Kota Agung, Tanggamus District.  The samples of this research are 54 farmers whose products have been certified by prima. The performance of mangosteen farming is assessed by R / C ratio.  The results showed that the performance of mangosteen farming in terms of R / C ratio per-ha was 6.91; it meant that each cash cost incurred by farmers of Rp1.00 then the farmers would receive revenue of Rp6.91 (could provide benefits on economical aspects).  Prima Certification Program of mangosteen farming in Terdana, Kota Agung, Tanggamus district was quite sustainable in economic, social, and environmental aspects, in which sustainability index were 67.90;  71.02 and  72.82Key words: farm income , mangosteen, prima certification, sustainability
