Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of physics learning tools based on problem based learning models to improve effective and efficient problem solving and critical thinking skills of students. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development) with the research model being developed is 4D Models. The effectiveness is obtained from a limited trial to get the N-gain test value and the efficiency is determined from the student's response. The results of the study based on the results of the average N-gain test obtained a value of 0.41 with a medium category. Student responses showed that they were not satisfied with online learning. So it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the physics learning device model of problem based learning on harmonic vibration material is effective and efficient for improving problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of physics learning tools based on cognitive conflict approach to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 3D-based development model design consisting of 3 stages starting from Define, Design, and Develop. The product developed in this study is a learning device consisting of a syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKPD), and test instruments. The feasibility of the learning device was obtained from the assessment of the validation questionnaire by the validator of physics lecturers and physics teachers. The assessment of the validation questionnaire produces qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data produces suggestions and inputs that are used as references to improve the learning tools developed. While the quantitative data is processed to get the value of validity and reliability. The quantitative data from the validation by the lecturers shows that the syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD are in the very valid category and the test instrument shows a valid category. Meanwhile, the results of teacher validation showed that all the learning tools developed were in the very valid category. Data processing for reliability using the method Borich, known as the Percentage Agreement (PA). Reliability value of all learning tools, whether validated by lecturers or teachers, shows a reliable category because they have a value of more than 75%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the students' cognitive abilities after the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model on the material momentum and impulse at MAN 2 Mataram. The type of research used is Research & Development with 4D models. The data collection technique used is students' worksheet on cognitive abilities and instrument test of cognitive abilities. Data during learning activities obtained from the results of the Students Worksheet (LKPD) on cognitive abilities, while the result the increase in the ability of students is obtained from the results of pretest and posttest of students using the N-Gain test. The average result of the pretest The results obtained are 34.42, the average posttest result is 94.76. The average cognitive ability per learner indicator gets N-Gain of 0.63 in the medium category. The highest increase was found in remembering indicator (C1) with an N-Gain of 0.78 in the category high, while the lowest increase was in the category of creating (C6) with an N-Gain of 0.44 in the medium category. Percentage increase in cognitive abilities with high category by 38.10%, the medium category is 61.90% and there is no low category, so the the guided inquiry learning model is effective can be improve the cognitive abilities of students in the material of momentum and impulse. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in the subject matter of temperature and heat. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students in class XI MIPA at SMAN 2 Praya, while the sample was taken using a random sampling technique so that students in class XI MIPA 3 were selected as the experimental class and students in class XI MIPA 4 as the control class. The instrument used to measure students' critical thinking skills during learning activities is LKPD which is equipped with questions that refer to indicators of critical thinking skills, and the non-test instrument used is in the form of student response questionnaires to LKPD. The results of the analysis of the level of critical thinking skills of students during learning activities show a very critical category for students in the experimental class and a critical category for students in the control class. The results of the student response questionnaire analysis showed that the student response to the LKPD was 79% in the positive category.   Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Critical Thinking Ability, Temperature, heat
