Abstract

Efficiency Analysis of The Use of Tobacco Farming Production Factors in Subak Sengguan, Sukawati Village, District of Sukawati This research was conducted in Subak Sengguan, Sukawati Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. Sengguan Subak is one of the subaks that produce tobacco in Sukawati Village, Sukawati District. As a subak that develops tobacco cultivation in Sukawati Village, Subak Sengguan produces the most tobacco in Sukawati Village. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of technical efficiency, economic efficiency, and price (allocative) efficiency in tobacco farming in Subak Sengguan, Sukawati Village, Sukawati District. The data was obtained by taking samples of 46 farmers of Subak Sengguan members. To analyze the level of technical efficiency, economic efficiency, and price (allocative), the study used the Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function analysis with the MLE (Maximum Likelihood Estimation) method using seven variables. The results of this study show that farmers in Subak Sengguan are in productive efficiency (technical, economic, and price (allocative)) with a cut-off value of ?0,70 it means that tobacco farmers in Subak Sengguan are able to take good advantage of the production factors, even though they are not in the right optimal production. Achieving optimal production can be done by using various production factors efficiently and in accordance with the recommended use.

This study aims to determine the income and efficiency of celery farming. The study was conducted in Pancasari Village, involving 33 celery farmers as respondents during the planting season between February and August in 2018. The study suggests the income of celery farmers with 0.04 hectares of arable land is Rp 1,220,460.34. The efficiency of celery farming is efficient with an R/C ratio of 1.88.

Abstract

Abstract The Effectiveness and Efficiency of The Usage of Production Factors in Chili Farming at Baturiti Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan Big chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a potential commodity of horticulture in Bali. One of chili producer areas in Bali is Baturiti village, Baturiti district, Tabanan regency. This study aims to find out the influence of production factors, effectiveness and efficiency of usage of production factors to optimalizing production. The research was carried out at Baturiti village by analyzing production factors including the use of land, seed, fertilizer, pesticide, and labor using Cobb-Douglas production function. Data used in this study came from primary data of 56 respondents that were determined using random sampling method. The effectiveness of production factors use was examined from the comparison between marginal product and average product, while the efficiency of production factors was counted from comparison between marginal product value and production factors values. Results of this research show that seed, NPK fertilizer, and labor affect total production, meanwhile land, urea fertilizer, ZA fertilizer, KCL fertilizer, TSP fertilizer, and pesticide do not affect. The use of production factors was ineffective because of the effectiveness was under 80 percent. The use of seed has not been efficient yet so that the amount of use can be increased, on the other hand the use of other production factors was inefficient consequently their use can be decreased. Keywords : Big chili, production factor, effectiveness, efficiency

Abstract

Effectiveness Allocation Inputs of Rice Farm in Upsus Pajale Programat Subak Gadungan Delod Desa, Gadungan Village, TabananRegencyUpsus Pajale is one of the Indonesian government programs to increase rice, corn, and soybeans production to achieve food self-sufficiency. Subak Gadungan DelodDesa is one of the beneficiaries Upsus Pajale program. This study aims todetermine the effect, effectiveness, and efficiency of production rice yield. Datacollection in this study was conducted from August to November 2015 with randomsampling method. The Cobb-Douglass equation was used to analyze the influencefactors of production to yield, effectiveness and efficiency allocation of productionfactors. The results showed all of production factors such as seed, urea fertilizer,NPK fertilizer, and pesticide affect on yield. The use all of production factors hasnot been effective yet as the value of effectiveness below 40 percent. However,Upsus Pajale program has been implemented very effective because the value ofproductivity more than 0.3 tons/hectare. All production factors has not beenefficienct accordingly their use can be increased. Suggestion can be given in thisresearch is the farmers should be more careful in the use of production factors, thegovernment should continue to support farmers. Researchers are expected to findout efficiency of allocation production factors in Upsus Pajale programs areas.

Abstract

Perception of Farmers on Special Efforts to Increase Rice, Corn and SoybeanProduction (The Case of SRI Technology in Subak Lungatad,Peguyangan Kangin Village, Denpasar City)The need for food is one of the main aspects for the survival of society. Special Foodfor food self-sufficiency 2015-2017 is the effort of the Ministry of Agriculture tosucceed in self-sufficiency in rice, corn, soybeans in 2017. One of the hopes as the bestsolution for agriculture in Indonesia in increasing production is through a method offarming patterns with the System of Rice Intensification (SRI). The purpose of thisstudy was to find out the perception of farmers on the Upsus Pajale program, especiallySRI technology in Subak Lungatad, Peguyangan Kangin Village, North DenpasarDistrict. The number of samples was 30 farmers. The data were gathered throughquestionnaires using quantitative and qualitative data types. The data that had beenprocessed were further analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis method.Research results show that the farmers' perceptions of SRI technology: (1) innovationwas in good category with a score of 3.96, (2) social aspects were in good category witha score of 3.61, (3) economic aspects were in good category with a score of 4.09. And(4) the technical/ environmental aspects were also in the good category with a score of3.48.Based on the results of the research and conclusions obtained, the suggestion that can bemade to the government is that they should provide more input on the SRI plantingsystem, both through technical guidance, field practice (making demonstration plots)and mentoring during each planting season, so that the results achieved could berailored to the expectations of all parties. It is also recommended that they should paymore attention to the rice sales system which is currently being sold using a slashsystem, with the calculation using the area (acre), thus making it difficult for farmers toobtain optimal benefits.

Abstract

Land is the source of life for all creatures.  However, now the existence of the land begins shifting.  Land conversion activities are increasingly rife.  Subak, as farmer organizations for wetlands, is becoming more helpless. Economic factors that drive land use change from activities of rice farming is the low income, land owners working in other sectors, the selling price of land in Subak Kerdung, and the presence of non-agricultural business activities in this subak area.  Social factor that push for land conversion activities are adat and religious activities which require large funding sources and the desire to follow the behavior of the surrounding environment.  Institutional factors that push for land conversion activities are also concerned with institutional weaknesses of the subak itself and weak implementation of the governance of urban space.  Combating land conversion that occurs in the subak areas is not much that can be done by administrators of subak that only allow landowners to sell rice fields when destined for agricultural activities and seek smoothness for existing farming activities in the subak areas.
