Abstract

Counseling has been such a trend in 21 century, as a science that studied a human in psychology perspective. However, it appear with progressive touch, has affect in human mindset in every life that undertake. In 21 century development, many opinion and argumentation about counseling has an uniqueness in philosophy multicultural perspective that counseling has linkage with cultural and philosophy values in human it self, that make a new paradigm has been raise to the surface, such indigineous counseling and multicultural counseling perspective. Regardless with that paradigm, we can’t deny that basically all of science was from a human philosophy about their life with purpose to make understand and handle their life with solving a problems. But it is not all of cultural and philosophy values can be a such formulation to solve a problems, and if it can be transform to such formulation as a science, there are a procedure and criteria to be needed. Also if a counseling as a philosophy or science and also practical intervention, how to implemented in real life with a multicultural and multivalues in philosophy of life. In this article, will describe more further such a synthesize that counseling can be a science or practical science in educational multicultural philosophy paradigm and a result found that 27 (45%) counselor perception about counseling profession that as educational practice.

Abstract

Gifted students tend to have too perfectionistic social skills, want others to be in accordance with the desired logic, comfortable interacting with students with homogeneous characteristics. This tendency can be modified by school counselors through the integration of the values of Saprahan local wisdom into guidance and counseling services. The values contained in Saprahan are used as the formation of students' empathy skills. Thus, gifted students have concern for other colleagues, can interact well with students of various characters, accept the shortcomings of other friends, embrace and help other friends, be polite in communicating, and not demean other friends.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior that occurs among students nowadays indicates a decrease in the quality of education. One of the things that cause this is education which only emphasizes cognitive quality without being balanced with affective. This study aims to describe the differences in aggressive behavior between male and female students in Junior High School of West Sumatera. The sample consisted of 360 students (159 male and 201 female) spread across eight Junior High Schools in West Sumatera. The analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test combined with stacking RASCH model. The analysis show that in general there are differences in aggressive behavior between male and female students. The discussion regarding guidance and counseling services was further explained.

Abstract

The aim of this study is a description of counselor characters obtained from the values of Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian (SSK) manuscript. Qualitative approach was used in which the data, analysis, and interpretation conformed to the principles of hermeneutics. As a method, hermeneutics was employed to interpret the text meaning within the SSK. The research procedure comprised: 1) selection of texts source, 2) dialogic process involving negotiation and re-negotiation of texts interpretation until the full understanding of the texts was gained, and 3) concept writing. The results suggest that in the SSK, there are three focal aspects supporting the counselor’s personal quality; that are: 1) religious, submissive and obidient to The Most Supernatural Power of God (Batara Seda Niskala); 2) being wastu siwong, a human being having good attitudes, excel at science, and knowledgable about the value of life; and 3) comprehensive about pangimbuh ning twah, the complementary thing toward the success of life in society. These three aspects in this study form a Rampes counselor.

Abstract

There were some phenomen that the counselling for kinestetic student did not effective to improve their self confidence. The purpose of this study was to innovate the quality of counseling process through multidimentional model in improving students self confidence. The model was developed based on students’ self confidence. The method used research and development model of Borg and Gall. The procedures conducted were: i) premilinary survey to produce instrument to be used in assesing students’ need; (ii) designing counseling process; (iii) implementing and evaluating data were collected. The results indicated that the multidimentional model in counceling process could improve the students’ self confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe problem children, with a sample of 52 child convicts. In-depth interview techniques with counseling approaches, focused discussions and questionnaires were used for data collection. Data analysis used content analysis techniques and descriptive analysis. This research is the result of the first year of research planned for three years. The results of the study show that: child convicts are in a critical age, a period of seeking identity; have a low education background; very rarely interact socially with their father and mother; Child convicts have various unmet needs in their families. Their needs include: psychological needs, physical needs, social needs, future needs, information needs, and the need to live in character and culture. It is recommended that the results of the first year research be used to determine the right education model for child convicts to lead a moral and characterized life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of videoscribe for improving reading fluently ability for student with learning disability. This research uses single subject research (SSR) experiment, A-B-A design and data analysis technique using visual graph analysis. The subject of this research is student with learning disability. Target behavior in this study is the speed of reading fluently in short discourse text. Observations were conducted in three sessions. First is baseline session (A1), second, interventions through media videoscribe (B) and last session baseline (A2). Based on the results of research, we knew that the ability of children in reading fluently can be increased through videoscribe. At the baseline condition (A1), the reading fluently ability of the student increases from the duration of four point five minutes to four minutes. In intervention condition (B), the duration becomes shorter in one minute. At the baseline condition (A2) the duration becomes shorter, even without any intervention. Based on data analysis, it can be explained that direction tendency, stability tendency, data trending trend, and level change increase positively, and overlape percentage on inter-condition analysis is 0%. It can be concluded that the media videoscribe can improve reading fluently ability for student with learning disability.

Abstract

Learning activities can occur everywhere, including in the school environment. Learning activities in schools have various components that enable the emergence of student learning problems. These problems affect or even determine the quality of student learning outcomes. The Role of Guidance and Counseling, among them in the form of Content Mastery Services is needed to overcome these problems. This role becomes the main task of school counselors to optimize student learning outcomes. This article is a literature review. The results of the study show the discussion on the important role of Content Mastery Service on the quality of student learning activities in schools.

Abstract

Learning activities are a learning effort by students in physical, mental, intellectual, and emotional aspects from the to hard observed activities that happened inside or outside the classroom. This study describes students learning activities that will impact on student learning outcomes. The method used is descriptive-analysis with a 167 students sample that using proportional random sampling technique, used a questionnaire . The instrument used is a questionnaire. The result of the research is it includes the students learning activities in Junior High school in the medium category which comprises learning activities before learning in school, learning during school, and after learning in school. The implications of this research can be a reference and input for Counselor to improve students learning activities at 19 Junior High school in Bandung.
