Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan implementasi eufemisme dalam berita utama surat kabar Tempo sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian bahasa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik simak dan catat. Teknik simak dilakukan dengan cara menyimak teks berita yang terdapat dalam surat kabar Tempo dan teknik catat dilakukan dengan cara mencatat kata-kata atau kalimat-kalimat yang termasuk dalam penggunaan eufemisme dalam berita utama surat kabar Tempo. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penggunaan  eufemisme dalam berita utama surat kabar Tempo dapat diimplementasikan sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia materi teks berita kelas VIII. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa di dalam berita utama surat kabar Tempo memiliki kelengkapan unsur-unsur teks berita. Penggunaan eufemisme dalam teks berita berperan sebagai pembentuk moral baik kepada peserta didik sekolah menengah pertama karena memberikan dampak positif untuk perkembangan wawasan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan linguistik kognitif dalam menelusuri metafora konseptual kasta dalam masyarakat Bali. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana masyarakat di Bali mengonseptualisasikan kasta, sehingga pemahaman terhadap kasta dapat diketahui. Sumber data diperoleh melalui aplikasi google form dengan jumlah responden 70 orang. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan pendekatan linguistik kognitif dari Kovecses. Pengumpulan data dengan simak dan catat serta didukung wawancara. Analisis data dengan bagi unsur langsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan adanya lima varian konseptualisasi terkait kasta seperti: 1) kasta adalah kendaraan, 2) kasta adalah pakaian, 3) kasta adalah unik, 4) kasta adalah kelompok, 5) kasta adalah keindahan. Frekuensi yang paling banyak muncul adalah “kasta adalah kelompok”, sedangkan frekuensi yang paling sedikit adalah “kasta adalah kendaraan”, dan “kasta adalah pakaian”. Metafora yang digunakan adalah metafora struktural. Metafora struktural adalah jenis metafora konseptual yang memetakan struktur ranah sumber ke struktur ranah target melalui cara partisipan memahami makna konsep tertentu dalam konsep lainnya. Hasil dari konseptualisasi kasta ini cenderung bersifat negatif, karena masyarakat masih menganggap bahwa kasta sebagai sesuatu yang dapat memecah belah.Kata kunci: linguistik kognitif, metafora konseptual, kasta ABSTRACT This study explores the conceptual metaphor of caste in Balinese society. The purpose of this research is to find out how people in Bali conceptualize caste, so that the understanding of casta can be known. The data source was obtained through the google form application with a total of 70 respondents. This study uses a cognitive linguistic approach from Kovecses. Collecting data by listening and taking notes and supported by interviews. Data analysis with direct element divison. This research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study found that there were 5 variants of conceptualization related to caste such as First, caste is a vehicle. Second, caste is clothing. Third caste is unique. Fourth, caste is a group. Fifth caste is beauty. The frequency that appears the most is caste is a group, while the lowest frequency is caste is a vehicle and , caste is clothing. The metaphor used is a structural metaphor. Structural metaphor is type of conceptual metaphor that maps the structure of the source domain to the structure of the target domain through the way participants understands the meaning of certain concepts in other concepts. The results of this casta conceptualization tend to be negative, because people still perceive caste as something that can divide.Keywords: cognitive linguistic, conceptual metaphor, caste

Abstract

Arts and arts practices have been affected by the constraints of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Arts learning and teaching activities in the subject of art appreciation in Duta Wacana Christian universities have also been disrupted, necessitating online collaboration. There are not many studies being done that evaluationg arts learning and teaching during pandemics. Therefore this research is playing the role to contribute to the issue. This research spesifically focus to evaluate the learning and teaching method and also the concepts connected to arts practice in general and in the contextual arts learning and teaching activities in university setting. This result shows that during a situation where in-person classroom instruction is not possible, students were still succesfull increasing their appreciation of arts. Students were engaged by collaborative art projects where they had to develop a concept and produce a digital product to be shared and critiqued in an online forum. Data from a post-project mixed method survey, students indicated that this process of developing digital products enhanced their appreciation of arts. This project demonstrates that online collaborations in the arts assists in the development of forms of art appreciation in students from a variety of majors. Arts collaboration can be done via online technology by non-arts students. These types of collaborations are useful in encouraging students to adapt academically and artistically

Abstract

The process of English Learning before and during Covid-19 pandemic is very difference. The learning process which is conducted at school has changed into distance learning process. All schools are required to implement e-learning to support the distance learning process. This study was aimed at analyzing students’ e-learning readiness toward the implementation of e-learning at SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan. A mixed-method research design utilizing concurrent embedded model which is a quantitative method as a primer method was employed in this study. A questionnaire of students’ e-learning readiness and an observation sheet were used to collect the data. The obtained data were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of the study showed that the readiness of SMK Negeri 1 Kubutambahan students in using e-learning in the context of distance learning is classified on ready category which still needs some improvement. From the four aspects of readiness assessed, there is one aspect that belongs to unready category that requires a little improvement, namely the technological aspect. Meanwhile, the other three aspects, namely aspects of innovation, people, and self-development belong to the ready category which requires a little improvement in its implementation.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk pematuhan dan pelanggaran maksim kesantunan berbahasa Joko Widodo dalam memberi tanggapannya terkait pandemi Covid-19 sehingga melalui penelitian ini dapat terlihat bagaimana perilaku kebahasaan Joko Widodo dalam menjalin komunikasi. Sumber data diperoleh dari media sosial Youtube. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan prinsip kesopanan dari Leech. Data dikumpulkan dengan mentranskrip video Talk Show Mata Najwa episode Jokowi diuji pandemi yang diunggah di laman media sosial Youtube Najwa Shihab, peneliti kemudian menyimak dan mengklasifikasi data berdasarkan pematuhan prinsip kesantunan dan bentuk-bentuk pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Joko Widodo dalam menjalin komunikasi di program Talk Show Mata Najwa lebih dominan mematuhi prinsip kesantunan berbahasa. Sebanyak 70% tuturan Jokowi mengandung pematuhan prinsip kesantunan dan 30% tuturan Jokowi mengandung pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan. Dengan demikian, perilaku berbahasa Joko Widodo saat diundang di program Talk Show Mata Najwa telah menunjukkan perilaku berbahasa yang santun. Mengingat Joko Widodo yang bertindak sebagai kepala negara, secara implisit telah memberikan contoh kepada masyarakat dalam hal berperilaku santun saat menjalin sebuah komunikasi.Kata kunci: kesantunan berbahasa, Joko Widodo, Talk Show Mata Najwa ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to find out the politeness and violations of politeness maxims in Joko Widodo's language in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic so that through this research it can be seen how Joko Widodo's language is in establishing communication. The data source is obtained from the social media Youtube. This research used Leech's politeness principle approach. Data was collected by transcribing the video Talk Show Mata Najwa episode Jokowi tested for pandemic which was uploaded on social media page Youtube Najwa Shihab's, the researcher then listened and classified the data based on compliance with politeness principles and forms of violation of politeness principles. that the results show that Joko Widodo in establishing communication in the Mata Najwa Talk Show program is more dominant in obeying the principles of language politeness. It is known that 70% of Jokowi's speeches contain compliance with politeness principles and 30% of Jokowi's speeches contain violations of politeness principles. Thus, Joko Widodo's language behavior when invited to the Mata Najwa Talk Show program has shown polite language behavior. Considering that Joko Widodo, who acts as head of state, has implicitly set an example for the community in terms of behaving politely when establishing communication.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Buku teks pelajaran merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam terlaksananya pembelajaran. Tingkat soal dan materi mempengaruhi peserta didik dalam berpikir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memetakan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dalam materi dan soal yang ada di dalam buku pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia SMA yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah buku pelajaran bahasa Indonesia siswa jenjang SMA terbitan Kemendikbud. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah materi-materi dan soal-soal yang mengandung unsur HOTS yang terdapat dalam buku pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia terbitan Kemendikbud. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak, dokumentasi dan dilanjutkan dengan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis interaktif yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan content analysis.  Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan level HOTS yang ditemukan dalam soal dan materi buku pelajaran bahasa Indonesia SMA Kemendikbud pada level C4, C5, dan C6. Adapun materi kelas X dan XI didominasi oleh HOTS yaitu pada tingkat C4 dan kelas XII didominasi HOTS tingkat C6. Adapun soal HOTS dalam buku pelajaran bahasa Indonesia SMA adalah kelas X terdapat 42 soal HOTS, kelas XI terdapat 9 soal HOTS, dan XII terdapat 22 soal HOTS. Kelas X dan XI didominasi oleh C4 dan kelas XII didominasi oleh C6. Soal dan materi yang mengandung HOTS dapat membiasakan siswa untuk berpikir secara kritis. Berdasarkan hal tersebut buku terbitan Kemendikbud layak untuk dijadikan sebagai buku penunjang dalam pembelajaran, tetapi masih perlu ditingkatkan jumlah soal dan materi yang berorientasi HOTS.Kata kunci: buku teks pelajaran; Higher Order Thinking Skills; materi; soal; tingkat berpikir ABSTRACTTextbooks are one of the important elements in the implementation of learning. The level of questions and materials affect students in thinking. The purpose of this study was to map Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the materials and questions contained in high school Indonesian language textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The source of the data in this study is the Indonesian language textbook for high school students published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The data collected in this study are materials and questions that contain elements of Higher Order Thinking Skills contained in Indonesian language textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Data collection in this study used library techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique used in this research is interactive analysis. Class X and XI are dominated by HOTS at level C4 and class XII is dominated by HOTS at C6 level. The HOTS questions in the Indonesian language textbooks for high school (SMA) level are that in class X there are 42 HOTS questions, in class XI there are 9 HOTS questions, and in XII there are 22 HOTS questions. Class X and XI are dominated by C4 and class XII is dominated by C6. Questions and materials containing HOTS can familiarize students to think critically. Based on this, the books published by the Ministry of Education and Culture deserve to be used as supporting books in learning, but still need to increase the number of questions and materials that are HOTS-oriented.Keywords : textbooks; Higher Order Thinking Skills; material; questions

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pesan moral penting disampaikan untuk masyarkat sebagai edukasi dalam berperilaku baik dimasyarakat. Penelitian ini menganalisis struktur, pesan moral pada novel Rapijai 1 “Mencari” karya Dee Lestari dan diimpelementasikan sebagai bahan ajar sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data berupa kata, kalimat, paragraf, respons guru dan siswa, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik pustaka, simak, catat, dan angket, memvalidasi data menggunakan triangulasi teori, dan menggunakan teknik analisis hermeneutik dan hereustik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu (a) tema novel adalah kegigihan manusia dalam mewujudkan impiannya, alur novel ini yaitu alur campuran. Latarnya diceritakan pada tahun 2017 yang terdapat di Jakarta Selatan dan Cijulang. (b) pesan moral yang terdapat dalam novel Rapijali 1 adalah kejujuran,kemandirian, keberanian moral, kerendahan hati, bertanggung jawab, dan kritis. (c) hasil analisis stuktur dan pesan moral dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar sastra sesuai dengan KD 3.9 menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel. Bahan ajar ini telah divalidasi berdasarkan  teori dengan  hasil skor 80, praktisi 81, dan siswa 75. Bahan ajar yang telah disusun dinilai cukup baik dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran sastra.ABSTRACT Important moral messages are conveyed to the community as education in good behaviour in the community. This study analyzes the structure, moral message in the novel Rapijali 1 “Searching” by Dee Lestari and is implemented as a literature teaching material in high school. This study used the descriptive qualitative method.  The data are in the form of words, setences, paragraphs, teacher and student responsses, data collection techniques used  are library techniques used are library, listening, note, and questionnaires techniques, validating data using theoretical triangulation, and using hermeneutic and hereustic analysis techniques. The results of this study are (a) the theme of the novel is human persistence in realizing their dreams, the plot of this novel is mixed plot. The setting is told in 2017 which is located in South Jakarta and Cijulang.  b) the moral messages in the novel Rapijali 1 are  honesty, independence, moral courage, humility,  responssibility, and criticism. c) the results of the analysis structure and moral messages can be used as literature teaching materials in accordance with KD 3.9 analyzing  the content and language of the novel. These teaching materials have been validated based on theory with a score of 80,  practitioners 81, and students 75. The teaching materials that have been prepared are considered quite good  and can be sed in learning literature.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan variasi bahasa yang dipakai dan bentuk dan fungsi jargon yang muncul dalam percakapan pada chanel Telegram “Cerita VBAC” yang merupakan komunitas ibu-ibu dengan riwayat melahirkan caesar di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang menganalisis data penelitian berupa kata-kata pada tuturan anggota chanel tersebut. Data penelitian diperoleh pada periode April dan Mei 2021 dengan teknik simak, kemudian dianalisis melalui deskripsi data, klasifikasi, reduksi, perbandingan, dan relasional. Dari analisis dan pembahasan, penelitian ini menghasilkan tiga hal, yakni (1) variasi bahasa yang dipakai dalam jargon “mama urban” dalam chanel Telegram “Cerita VBAC” ada dua, yakni Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris, (2) bentuk jargon yang ditemukan pada penelitian ini ada empat jenis, yaitu bentuk kata jadian, akronim, singkatan, dan frasa. Dari keempat bentuk yang muncul itu, bentuk jargon yang paling dominan adalah kata jadian, (3) fungsi jargon ditemukan ada empat yakni sebagai penyegaran susana, pengungkapan sikap dan perasaan, penghalusan makna, dan penegasan identitas komunitas tertentu. Ketiga hasil penelitian di atas menjadi wujud bahwa penciptaan kata-kata baru (jargon) merupakan suatu fenomena kebahasaan yang digagas dengan membawa tujuan-tujuan tertentu.Kata Kunci: bentuk jargon, kata jadian, chanel Telegram, cerita VBACABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the variety of language used and the forms and functions of jargon that appear in conversations on the Telegram channel "Cerita VBAC" which is a community of mothers with a history of caesarean delivery in Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive qualitative which analyzes research data in the form of words in the utterances of the channel members. The research data was obtained in the period April and May 2021 using the listening technique, then analyzed, classified and described. From the analysis and discussion, this study resulted in 3 things, namely (1) the variation of the language used in the “mama urban” jargon in the Telegram channel "Cerita VBAC" there are two, namely Indonesian and English, (2) the form of jargon found in this study. There are four types, namely invented word forms, acronyms, abbreviations, and phrases. Of the four forms that emerged, the most dominant form of jargon was invented words, (3) there were four functions of jargon, namely as a refresher of the atmosphere, expression of attitudes and feelings, refinement of meaning, and affirmation of the identity of a particular community.Keywords: jargon form, invented word, Telegram channel, VBAC story

Abstract

Differentiated instructions have been recommended for classrooms with students of different readiness, learning profiles, and backgrounds in English classrooms. This study aimed at elaborating the implementation of differentiated instruction in terms of its advantages and the challenges encountered by teachers and students in implementing differentiated instruction. The study was designed as library research, following George's ten steps (2008) model. Experts' opinions and previous studies were reviewed in this present study to provide a comprehensive mapping of the advantages and challenges in implementing differentiated instructions. The review revealed that differentiated instruction could motivate low-achieving students, increase students' participation, interaction, and cooperation, as well as build a better teacher-student relationship. However, differentiated instruction also poses challenges, such as time-consuming, misperception about unfair treatments, and class size. These results imply that better planning should be conducted before implementing differentiated instruction to gain its benefits.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses fonologis pada pidato berbahasa Indonesia yang dilakukan oleh duta besar Korea Selatan - Indonesia tahun 2019 dan 2020 yaitu Kim Chang-beom dan Park Tae-sung. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun data diambil melalui video pidato berbahasa Indonesia oleh duta besar Korea Selatan yang memiliki proses fonologis. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak dan catat. Langkah-langkah dalam analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu meliputi 1) pengumpulan data penelitian, 2) identifikasi proses fonologis, 3) pengkategorian proses fonologis, dan 4) penjelasan proses fonologis. Hasil identifikasi dalam penelitian ini ditemukan proses-proses fonologis berjumlah 49 buah dan terkategori menjadi asimilasi sebanyak 19 buah, disimilasi 3 buah, modifikasi vokal 8 buah, netralisasi 5 buah, zeroisasi 4 buah, anaptiksis 5 buah, epentesis 1 buah, dan paragog 4 buah. Kata kunci: Proses Fonologis; Korea; Indonesia; Duta Besar ABSTRACT  The purpose of this study is to determine the phonological process in Indonesian speech that are produced by the ambassadors of South Korea - Indonesia in 2019 and 2020, namely Kim Chang-beom and Park Tae-sung. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The data were taken through Instagram videos regarding Indonesian speeches by the South Korean ambassador which had phonological processes. The technique used in this research are the listening and note-taking technique. The steps in data analysis in this study include 1) collecting research data, 2) identifying phonological processes, 3) categorizing phonological processes, and 4) explaining phonological processes. The results of the identification in this study found 49 phonological processes and categorized into 19 assimilation, 3 dissimilation, 8 vocal modifications, 5 neutralization, 4 zeroization, 5 anapticsis, 1 epenthesis, and 4 paragog.
