Samples in this study 162 students selected using proportional random sampling techniques The instruments used in this study were likert scales on variables of academic self-concept and learning habits, on locus of control variables using internal-external inventory Rotters locus of control (I-E) scales. The findings of this study show that: (1) the average academic self-concept is in a moderate category, (2) locus of control is also in the high category, (3) learners' learning habits are categorized well, (4) academic self-concept contributes to learning habits by 36.3%, (5) Locus of control contributes to learning habits by 10.6%, and (6) academic self-concept and locus of control together contribute 36.4% to learners' learning habits. The study findings show that: (1) on average, academic self-concept is in the high category, (2) locus of control in the internal category, (3) learners' learning habits in the good category, (4) academic self-concept contributes to learning habits, (5) locus of control does not contribute to learning habits, and (6) academic self-concept contributes to learners' learning habits, and internal locus of control does not contribute to learning habits because it already leads to locus of external control. Abstract

Work stress is an emotional state that arises because of a mismatch between the workload and the individual's ability to cope with the work stress he or she faces. The stress experienced by teachers in carrying out their duties at school cannot be separated from the demands of professional duties as professional teachers, the work done must be maximal. This can be seen from the phenomenon found in the field against equivalent high school teachers in Kerinci Regency, based on an analysis of existing documents in 2019-2020, namely, there are still teachers who are late for attendance even though they have used electronic absences, and are late for teaching in class. There are also teachers who only give assignments to students in class, but the teacher remains in the office. Some teaching teachers do not use creative learning media to attract students' interest, but teach with lecture methods that seem monotonous, boring and not conducive. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and comparative methods with a sample of 212 teachers selected usingthe Two Stage Cluster Random Sampling technique and data collection tools using a questionnaire with a Likert scale model about work stress on teachers. The results of the study revealed that teacher work stress was in the moderate category, and there is a significant difference in work stress by gender with a significance of 0.002, a significance of age 0.049, a significance of length of work 0.00, and a significance of employment status 0.038 with a negligible < 0.05. This research has implications as input for Counselors who  operationally consult  with school principals and jointly discuss services/activities that can help teachers to minimize stress levels experienced by teachers.

Abstract

The implementation of the learning process cannot be separated from the existence of the teacher. The creation of an effective learning atmosphere requires a close relationship between teachers and students. The reinforcement given by the teacher affects the level of student activity and participation in the learning process. In schools, there are still teachers who are not appropriate to implement reinforcement. This can be seen in the poorly educated treatment of teachers towards students, such as yelling at students in public, and negative labeling of students. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of reinforcement of subject teachers in Padang City Junior High School. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The research sample consisted of 149 students who were taken using the purposive random sampling technique. The instrument used was the "Teacher Reinforcement Scale" with a reliability value of 0.714. The results of this study reveal that the reinforcement of subject teachers in schools is in a low category. The results of the study generally show that the reinforcement of subject teachers is in a low category and needs to be improved in order to encourage students to be more active in participating in the learning process. The results of this research can be used as a basis for school counselors or Guidance and Counseling teachers in providing guidance and counseling services in schools by involving subject teachers.

Abstract

Qur’an Memorization (Tahfiz Quran) score is a determinant factor of boarding students’ graduation. However, Many of the students get the score below the standard (KKM). Their ability to get high achievement could be caused by several factors such as their self-adjustment toward the learning environment and their learning skill. This study was conducted to reveal students’ self-adjustment, learning skill and achievement, and to perceive the contribution of aforementioned factors to students’ achievement. It was using correlation research method where the data was analysed through description and double regression. The research sample was 220 students consisted of students of grade seven and eight in Junior High School Ar-Risalah Padang. The result showed that self-adjustment and learning skill were in high category while student’s achievement was in moderate category. Then, there was a significantly positive contribution of the two factors on student’s learning achievement. In other words, the higher student’s self-adjustment and learning skill are the higher their learning achievement.

Abstract

This research is motivated by (1) students prefer to have friends with certain people, (2) students who are smart but lack courage in expressing opinions, (3) students who are diligent in joining extracurricular activities but are less courageous in opinion. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) group format in an effort to improve students' self-concepts caused by irrational thinking. This study uses the Quasi Experiment method with the design of The Non Equivalent Control Group. The subjects of the study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Lubuk Basung (10 control groups and 10 experimental groups). The research instrument used a self-concept scale with a validity of 0.387 and a reliability of 0.870. Data analysis using nonparametric statistics with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Kolmogorov Smirnov 2 Independent Samples. The findings of the study show that the REBT approach to the effective group format to improve students' self-concepts, this can be seen from the increase in the self-concept scores of the experimental group students is greater than the control group's self-concept scores.
