Abstract

Literacy is not only the responsibility of formal education institutions. One form of education in society is a community library. This study aimed to describe the roles and problems faced by community library forums in enhancing literacy culture. The subject in this study was a community reading garden as a part of a community library forum. Data were collected in Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. This study applied a qualitative research design with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through surveys, observation, and in-depth interviews. Then, the data were presented in the form of tables, diagrams, and word descriptions. The researchers extended the observation time in order to achieve the validity of findings. The main problems found in this study included: what are the challenges faced by community library forums? What is the role of the community library forum in enhancing the literacy culture of children in Lombok Tengah? The results revealed that the challenges faced by community library forums included problems of regeneration, inadequate facilities, lack of book collections, low literacy culture, and non-optimal support from the government. The role of libraries in enhancing literacy culture was as a facilitator, motivator, creator, and pioneer of the literacy movement in rural areas. With the presence of the community library, the children felt more excited about reading.

Abstract

The content of history materials should not be ignored in learning at elementary schools. However, in reality, history has always been regarded as a second-level lesson that is not very important. One of the causes is the teacher's ignorance of the educational values contained in the content of history materias. This study aimed to analyze history content in SD/MI thematic books. The object of this study was the 2013 curriculum integrated thematic book revised edition of 2017/2018. The method in this study was content analysis. The values found in the content of history materials at elementary schools included educational, instructive, recreational, and inspirational values. These values were contained in theme 5 “my hero” at grade IV, theme 7 “events in life” at grade V, and theme 3 “figures and inventions” at grade VI. In addition,, several character values were also found including heroism, nationalism, cooperation, unyielding, vigilant, and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of people. This study demonstrated the benefits of studying history for students. The 2013 curriculum integrated thematic book was very suitable to be used as a medium in studying history material at elementary school.

Abstract

The ability to distinguish series and parallel circuits is one of the core abilities that must be mastered before learning various electrical circuits, from simple electrical circuits to complex electrical circuits taught to students at the elementary school to secondary school level. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between student majors during high school and the origin of schools on the ability of students to distinguish series and parallel circuits. This research is quantitative research with an ex-post-facto approach and conducted on students at the University of Mataram Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program with a proportion of 119 respondents (Science Major), 61 people (Social Science Major), 6 people (Language Major) and 7 respondents coming from vocational high schools. Data is collected using test techniques provided through Google Form. Data were analysed using the biserial point correlation. The hypothesis is tested by comparing the value of the biserial point correlation with the value of r product moment. The results showed that the biserial point value between Science Major - Social Science Major, Science Major – Language Major, Social Science Major – Language Major and Senior High School - Vocational School were all below the r product moment value so it can be concluded that there was no significant relationship between the majors of students during high school and the origin of the school's ability to distinguish series and parallel circuits.

Abstract

 The final output of thesis writing is scientific publication. Based on the analysis of the problem in one of the study programs, it was found that student publications were still oriented to journals that had not been accredited. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of student publications in SINTA accredited scientific journals. This activity was carried out in one of the study programs at the University of Mataram. The participants of the activity are final year students who are compiling articles from the thesis. The method of carrying out activities is through making online publication classes. Through the publication class, students are guided to compose manuscripts, manuscript templates, the introduction of accredited journals, the process of submitting manuscripts to assistance at the manuscript review stage. Based on the results of the program evaluation, it can be concluded that article writing assistance through the publication class is quite successful in improving the quality of student publications. This can be seen from several student publications that have been successfully published in SINTA accredited journals. Barriers experienced during the assistance activities are limited time, the ability of students in the technique of writing articles is still lacking and the motivation to publish in accredited journals is still low.   Luaran akhir dari penulisan skripsi adalah publikasi ilmiah. Berdasarkan analisis masalah pada salah satu program studi ditemukan fakta bahwa publikasi mahasiswa masih berorientasi pada jurnal yang belum terakreditasi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas publikasi mahasiswa ke jurnal ilmiah terakreditasi SINTA. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada salah satu program studi di Universitas Mataram. Peserta kegiatan adalah mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang menyusun artikel dari skripsi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan melalui pembuatan kelas publikasi secara online. Melalui kelas publikasi mahasiswa dibimbing untuk menyusun naskah, templating naskah, pengenalan jurnal terakreditasi, proses submit naskah hingga pendampingan pada tahapan review naskah. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi program dapat disimpulkan bahwa asistensi penulisan artikel melalui kelas publikasi cukup berhasil dalam meningkatkan kualitas publikasi mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari beberapa naskah publikasi mahasiswa yang telah berhasil publish dijurnal terakreditasi SINTA. Hambatan yang dialami selama kegiatan asistensi adalah keterbatasan waktu, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam teknik menulis arikel masih kurang dan motivasi untuk melakukan publikasi di jurnal terakreditasi masih rendah.

Abstract

Abstract. Traditional games contain deep philosophical meaning in the history of the nation's struggle. The existence of massive online games has displaced the existence of traditional games. Various groups, including children and young people, are no longer familiar with traditional games in their respective regions. This service activity aims to preserve traditional games in the Batu Butir Kekait hamlet community. The problem-solving method is done by participatory observation through community service camps. The steps are situation analysis, socialization, and education to the public. Community service team members blend in with the community during the service activities. Participants in this activity are school-age children and village youth in Batu Butir Hamlet, Kekait Village, Gunung Sari, West Lombok. This activity involves students who are members of the Study Program Student Association (HMPS) with a total of 85 students. Efforts to preserve traditional games are carried out through socialization and competition activities in the community. The types of games that are contested are sack racing, tug of war, marbles racing, and long dragon games. After this activity, it is hoped that the community will no longer be addicted to online games which are proven to have a bad impact on health. In terms of students involved in this activity, it is expected to be accustomed to living in a closer blend with the community.Keywords. preservation, traditional games, community service camps (KBM)Abstrak.  Permainan tradisional mengandung makna filosofis yang mendalam dalam sejarah perjuangan bangsa. Keberadaan game online secara masif telah menggusur keberadaan permainan tradisional. Berbagai kalangan termasuk anak-anak dan generasi muda sudah tidak lagi mengenal permainan tradisional di daerahnya masing-masing. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan permainan tradisional di masyarakat dusun Batu Butir Kekait. Metode pemecahan masalah dilakukan dengan cara observasi partisipasif melalui kemah bakti masyarakat. Adapun langkah-langkahnya adalah analisis situasi, sosialisasi dan pemberian edukasi kepada masyarakat. Anggota tim pengabdian membaur dengan masyarakat selama kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah anak-anak usia sekolah dan remaja kampung di Dusun Batu Butir Desa Kekait kec.Gunung Sari-Lombok Barat. Kegiatan ini melibatkan mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam himpunan mahasiswa program studi (HMPS) dengan jumlah 85 mahasiswa. Upaya pelestarian permainan tradisional dilakukan melalui sosialisasi dan kegiatan perlombaan di masyarakat. Jenis permainan yang dilombakan adalah balap karung, tarik tambang, balap kelereng, dan permainan ular naga panjang. Setelah kegiatan ini diharapkan masyarakat tidak lagi kecanduan dengan game online yang terbukti memiliki dampak yang buruk terhadap kesehatan. Dari segi mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat terbiasa hidup membaur dengan lebih dekat pada masyarakat.Kata Kunci: pelestarian, permainan tradisional, kemah bakti masyarakat (KBM)

Abstract

The risk of conflict on a multicultural campus is huge. Not a few conflicts between students who are motivated by cultural problems. Conflict prevention efforts can be done through multicultural education. One of the multicultural universities in Indonesia is the university of Mataram. This study aims to describe the implementation of multicultural education at the University of Mataram. The unit of analysis in this study is students of elementary school teacher education programs. This research is important to do considering the diverse cultural backgrounds of students. Students are always faced with cultural diversity within the university. This research was designed in the form of qualitative research. The approach used is ethnographic. The main problem examined in this study is how to apply multicultural education in PGSD study programs. The results of the study revealed that in implementing multicultural education in PGSD study programs using a local wisdom approach. One of them is through the Sasambo dance. Sasambo dance is a dance created by Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo tribes. Sasambo dance is made an icon of PGSD. Each student is required to learn and take the meaning of the dance. The values contained in the Sasambo dance are the spirit of unity, cooperation, and equality. This dance illustrates the spirit of unity and equality of the three main ethnic groups in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. Through the Sasambo dance students are taught that each ethnic group has the same position. Mutual respect and respect for differences is the key. The implementation of multicultural education is important. Prospective elementary school teaching students in the future have a very important role in instilling the value of diversity of character in elementary schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe social aspect is one of the areas most affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. In addition to maintaining cleanliness, social restrictions are considered the most effective steps to avoid contracting Covid-19. Community response in the social field has given rise to a new phenomenon, namely the emergence of discrimination. This study aims to reveal the causes and forms of discrimination during the Covid-19 outbreak. This research uses a phenomenological approach. This approach is used to understand and describe in detail related to phenomena that occur in society during a pandemic. Data collection through interviews and participatory observation. Research location in the city of Mataram. The issues to be examined in this study include: Why did discrimination occur? What forms of discrimination existed in the community during the pandemic? The results showed that discriminatory behavior occurs because of excessive fear in responding to Covid-19. New forms of discrimination that emerged in the pandemic era included policy discrimination, worship discrimination, and social discrimination. Policy discrimination can be seen from the different treatments and regulations in areas that have the potential to become epidemics. Discrimination in worship can be seen from the restrictions on the use of places of worship for people outside the community. Social discrimination is manifested by mutual suspicion, isolation of migrants, isolation of sick people, reluctance to help sick people, isolation of people who are indicated by COVID, antipathy towards strangers, and the creation of an inclusive environment. These new forms of discrimination are contradictory to the genuine character of the Indonesian people who are friendly, family, uphold the values of justice, and help each other if you experience difficulties. Covid-19 has formed a mind that tends to look for life alone without caring about others. ABSTRAKAspek sosial merupakan salah satu bidang yang paling banyak terdampak dengan adanya wabah Covid-19. Selain menjaga kebersihan, melakukan pembatasan sosial merupakan langkah yang dianggap paling efektif agar tidak terjangkit Covid-19. Respon masyarakat dalam bidang sosial telah menimbulkan fenomena baru yaitu munculnya diskriminasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap penyebab dan bentuk-bentuk diskriminasi selama wabah Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk memahami dan menggambarkan secara detail terkait dengan fenomena yang terjadi di masyarakat selama pandemi. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi partisipasi. Lokasi penelitian di kota Mataram. Masalah yang akan dikaji dalam penelitian ini antara lain: Mengapa diskriminasi itu terjadi? Bagaimana bentuk diskriminasi yang ada di dalam masyarakat selama pandemi? Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku diskriminasi terjadi karena adanya ketakutan yang berlebihan dalam menanggapi Covid-19. Bentuk diskriminasi barau yang muncul di era pandemi antara lain diskriminasi kebijakan, diskriminasi peribadahan dan diskriminasi sosial. Diskriminasi kebijakan dapat terlihat dari adanya perbedaan perlakuan dan peraturan terhadap bidang-bidang yang berpotensi menjadi tempat penyebaran wabah. Diskriminasi peribadahan terlihat dari adanya pembatasan penggunaan tempat ibadah bagi masyarakat di luar komunitas. Diskriminasi sosial diwujudkan dengan adanya sikap saling mencurigai, pengucilan terhadap para perantau, pengucilan terhadap orang yang sakit, enggan membantu orang yang sakit, pengucilan terhadap orang yang terindikasi Covid, antipati terhadap orang asing dan terbentuknya lingkungan inklusif. Bentuk-bentuk diskriminasi baru tersebut kontradiktif dengan karakter asli bangsa Indonesia yang ramah, kekeluargaan, menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai keadilan dan saling membantu jika saudara mengalami kesusahan. Covid-19 telah membentuk mental yang cenderung mencari hidup sendiri tanpa peduli orang lain.

Abstract

The identification process is the first step in determining the special needs of the students. This process is important to be carried out as a basis for conducting assessments and developing individual learning programs for students with special needs. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection through in-depth observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used were observation and interview guidelines. Observations were made to observe the behavior of students both physically and non-physically when in the madrasa environment. Data is presented in the form of diagrams and then analyzed descriptively. Checking the validity of the findings is done by extending participation in the observation process. The results showed that 54 students were identified as having special needs. Specific types of needs found include impaired concentration and hyperactivity, specific learning difficulties, slow learning, visual impairment, visual impairment, hearing loss, and behavior and emotional disorders. Among these types of special needs are dominated by students with impaired concentration and hyperactivity with 39% of students with special needs.

Abstract

Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) adalah anak dengan karakteristik khusus yang berbeda dengan anak pada umumnya tanpa selalu menunjukkan pada ketidakmampuan mental, emosi, atau fisik. MI NW Tanak Beak merupakan madrasah dengan jumlah siswa berkebutuhan khusus terbanyak di Lombok Barat yaitu 47 siswa. Sebagai madrasah penyelenggara pendidikan inklusi, madrasah ini juga mendapatkan bantuan dana untuk pengadaan media sebagai alat bantu dalam proses pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran, merupakan salah satu unsur penting dalam proses pembelajaran, hanya saja masih ada media yang belum digunakan dengan optimal di MI NW Tanak Beak. Penelitian ini, memfokuskan pada optimalisasi penggunaan media di MI NW Tanak Beak Narmada, yang meliputi: (1) media yang sudah digunakan; (2) media yang belum digunakan dan (3) kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru sehingga masih ada media yang belum digunakan secara optimal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini adalah guru dan kepala madrasah. Melalui hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) 90% media yang ada di sekolah digunakan dengan maksimal; (2) media yang tidak pernah digunakan sama sekali adalah alat lego robotik dan angklung; (3) kendala yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan guru dalam mengunakan media karena tidak semua guru pernah mengikuti pelatihan cara mengunakan media untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan siswa pada pelajaran agama harus dicarikan solusinya. Salah satunya yang terjadi di SDN 4 Bajur, Keacamatan Labuapi, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Sebagian besar siswa di sini memiliki kemampuan rendah dalam pelajaran agama. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan upaya tindakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami pelajaran agama. Tindakan yang dilakukan adalah menerapkan Model Cooperative Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada pembelajaran. Penelitian ini didesain dalam bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah penerapan model Cooperative Team Games Tournament dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V di SDN 4 Bajur? Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga siklus. Pada masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini aalah siswa kelas V dengan jumlah siswa 26. Indikator keberhasilan tindakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain: 1. Jika minimal 75% dari keseluruhan siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian telah mencapai ketuntasan. Ketuntasan individual ditetapkan 75%, sedangkan ketuntasan klasikal ditetapkan sebesar 85%. 2. Jika terdapat perubahan atau peningkatan prestasi belajar bagi siswa berkemanpuan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah dilakukan tiga siklus terdapat peningkatan kemampuan klasikal. Pada siklus pertama ketuntasan klasikal 26%, siklus kedua 62% dan siklus ketiga 96%. Prestasi belajar siswa berkemampuan rendah juga telah mengalami peningkatan. Selama tiga kali siklus hanya satu siswa yang dinyatakan tidak tuntas. Berdasarkan dua indikator tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model TGT berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
