Abstract

AISI 4340 carbon steel is a type of steel belonging to a medium carbon alloy steel which is widely used as the main material in engines such as shafts, gears and piston connecting rods in motorized vehicles. Alloy carbon steel is one of the materials that is widely produced and used to make machine tools or parts, because alloy carbon steel has properties that can be modified, slightly ductile and tough (toughness), but some of these superior properties can experience changes when there is a variety of cooling processes, for that we need a study of the proper cooling process after the stainless steel has received heat input (due to welding), thus the properties of the crowns that are owned will not be much different when before the welding process is carried out compared to variations in cooling due to the welding process. This study aims to determine the effect of temperature in the SMAW welding process method on the microstructure. The method of research carried out using laboratory testing methods in order to determine the micro structure. The results showed that welding had an influence on the microstructure of the HAZ area and the weld area, the microstructure of the parent metal, and the HAZ area consisting of pearlite and ferrite. The result of the microstructure containing more pearlite than ferrite results in better connection quality.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of preheat, reheating and welding speed on AISI 1050 steel using GMAW welding with a current of 130 A, a voltage of 20 volts, the preheat temperatures used were 250 C, 300 C, 350 C and reheating temperatures of 550 C, 600 C, 650 C, welding speed using automatic tools with speed variations of 2.5 mm/s, 4.5 mm/s, this study used an experimental method including preparation of tools and materials, specimen making, welding process and micro hardness testing of Vicker hardness later obtained The highest hardness result is 206.7 HV at a preheat temperature of 350 C plus a reheating temperature of 650 C with a welding speed of 2.5 mm/s and the lowest hardness value is at a preheat temperature of 300 C plus a reheating temperature of 600 C with a welding speed of 2.5 mm/s in the weldmetal, HAZ and base metal areas with the highest hardness values at a preheat temperature of 300 C plus a reheating of 600 C with a welding speed of 4.5 mm/s of 254.2 HV and 238.3 HV

Abstract

Dari pengamatan pada perusahaan sparepart otomotif diperoleh beberapa cacat pengelesan. Diperoleh beberapa cacat yaitu undercut, overlap, blowhole, tembus, spatter, crack dan crater. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menekan masalah defect pada pengelasan dengan metode six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve dan Control) serta bertujuan menurunkan cost pada perusahaan. Dari ke lima jenis cacat tersebut didapatkan presentase sebesar 10,3 persen. Faktor penyebab terjadinya cacat pada hasil pengelasan ditinjau dari aspek mesin, metode, manusia, material dan lingkungan dengan menggunakan fishbone diagram dan FMEA sebagai alat bantu six sigma. Hasil perbaikan terbukti dapat menurunkan cost dari Rp. 3.233.000,- menjadi Rp. 238.300,-.

Abstract

Calculating the parameters in an effective and efficient production process is a necessity in order to meet the quality demands of users and applicable standards. This study uses analytical methods to calculate the parameters in the process. There are several analysis results, the first is the clearance value is 0.075 mm. The maximum die diameter is 10.17 mm and the minimum diameter is 10.15mm. The cutting force required is 8731.8 kgf and the stripper force required is 873.18 kgf. So the total force required is 9604.98 kgf. In the end, the machine capacity needed to carry out the entire punch press process was 12486.474 N

Abstract

The shaft is one component of a motorcycle that is no less important than other components. These components function to support the load of the vehicle itself as well as external loads such as humans or cargo on a motorcycle.This study aims to determine the working stress and also the safety factor on the shaft.The component that will be discussed is the front axle of the Honda Vario 110 tipe CW motorcycle.The method used is an experimental method with qualitative and quantitative analysis.The results of the analysis show that if a load of 80 kg is given, then the value of the working stress is 163,28 N/mm2, while the safety factor is 2.1.

Abstract

Shafts, pulleys and belts are one component of a washing machine that are no less important than other components. These components function to continue the rotation of the motor to the washing machine tube that will be driven. This study aims to redesign and analyze the three components. The method used is an experimental method with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the analysis show that the diameter of the drive shaft is 8mm with the type of material in the form of carbon steel, the diameter of the drive and driven pulley is 71 mm and 135.8 mm and the material for the cast iron pulley and the type of v-belt used is type A.

Abstract

Motorcycle is a means of transportation that can not be separated in modern human life. Simple but has many benefits and is very useful as a means of transportation, also having an affordable price is the reason why many people use motorbikes. Motorcycles themselves, especially automatic motorbikes also have problems that must be solved. This problem arises because the engine of the automatic motor itself is inside the motor body so that the heat transfer is hampered by the motor body itself. This deficiency is what encourages researchers to fix the problem. This repair is done by making a hole in the front of the deck for the air to flow as a cooler. The results showed that after repairs were made, it showed a significant difference in heat transfer, so that the engine became cooler and optimal.

Abstract

STEM education plays an important role in developing the 21st-century skills of the students moreover it can also increase students' understanding of science and technology concepts and how to apply their knowledge to solve a real-life problem. The improvement of students' increased understanding of concepts is hypothetically linked to the engineering design process that happened in STEM learning. This study aims to identify how students apply their prior science-technology concept to develop a smart blind stick through the engineering design process (EDP). The descriptive case study method includes direct observations, interviews, and documentation analysis in 3 STEM lessons of 30 high school students were conducted. During three STEM lessons, students are improving their skills to apply their prior science concepts to solve the challenge, students also introduce to knowledge of coding in order to develop a smart blind stick project. This study shows an example of how the engineering design process facilitates the application of science-technology knowledge in solving given problems. To support the learning process the teacher uses scaffolding techniques and optimizes the engineering design process, especially at the research step.

Abstract

Kebutuhan manusia terhadap bahan bakar setiap tahunnya sangatlah bertambah banyak, termasuk juga emisi gas buang yang di hasilkan .Tujuan dalam penelitian ini sebagai penentu dalam mengurangi emisi gas buang yang di hasilkan dari kendaraan bermotor. Cara ini dapat mengurangi polusi udara sehingga udara yang dihirup tidak terlalu bahaya bagi kesehatan. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan merupakan metode exprimen dengan pengolahan data menggunakan duo factorial yang mengetahui pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat yang di tentukan. Penambahan Octane booster cair kedalam bahan bakar shell super berpengaruh terhadap nilai emisi gas buang HC,CO dan CO2 pada kendaraan Innova. kesimpulan bahwa dengan campuran sebanyak 2,5% meghasilkan gas HC terendah dan yang tertinggi di hasilkan oleh campuran 1,6%. Kadar emisi gas buang CO dengan campuran 2,5% menghasilkan gas CO yang terendah dan campuran 1,6% octane booster menghasilkan CO tertinggi. Kadar emisi gas CO2 yang terkecil dihasilkan oleh bahan bakar shell super murni tanpa campuran sedangkan CO2 terbesar dihasilkan oleh campuran 3% octane booster cair.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi, kepuasan kerja, budaya organisasi, dan komitmen organisasional terhadap kinerja karyawan. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pada karyawan Jogja Kurnia Leather Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dengan menggunakan teknik penyebaran kuesioner kepada 50 karyawan Jogja Kurnia Leather yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian. Teknik pengujian data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji multikolinieritas, uji heteroskedastisitas, analisis regresi linier berganda, dan uji T. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa motivasi, kepuasan kerja dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Komitmen organisasional berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan namun tidak signifikan.
