Abstract

The research aim to determine the provision of katuk leaves extract water (Sauropus androgynus) and moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) through the drinking water for fat distribution  and totally cholesterol of broiler blood. The research design with completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. Each replicates using three broiler aged two weeks with a homogeneous body weight. These three treatments are broiler given drinking water without the water extract of moringa leaves and katuk leaf as control (A), broiler given a water extract of katuk leaves 5% through drinking water (B) and broiler given a water extract of leaves of moringa 5% through the water drink (C). Rations and water were given ad libitum. The variables measured in the research are pads fat, mesentrium fat, ventriculus fat and blood totally cholesterol . The results showed that the percentage of pads fat of broiler drunk extracts of katuk leaves 5% water through drinking water (B) and broiler drunk water extract of moringa leaves 5% through drinking water (C), respectively 29,92% and 22,83% lower and significantly different (P<0.05) compared with treatment A. Mesentrium fat broilers treated B and broilers treated C, respectively were 8,00% and 12,00% lower but they were not significantly different (P>0.05) compared to the treatment A. Ventriculus fat of broiler are treated B and broilers treated C, respectively 23,08% and 17,31% lower significantly (P<0,05) compared with treatment A. While for blood totally cholesterol of broiler given treated B and treated C, respectively 9,34% and 8,62% were significant different (P<0.05) lower compared with treatment A. Based on the results of this research concluded that the giving of katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus) and of Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) water extract by 5% through drinking water can lower the percentage of pads fat, ventriculus fat and blood totally cholesterol of broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan level terbaik suplementasi kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp.komplekssebagai sumber probiotik dalam ransum terhadap penampilan ayam broiler umur 1-5 minggu. Ayam yang digunakan adalah ayam broiler umur satu hari sebanyak 120 ekor dengan bobot badan homogen tanpa membedakan jenis kelamin. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan enam kali ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah ayam yang diberi ransum tanpa suplementasi kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp.komplekssebagai kontrol (P0), dengan suplementasi 0,20% kultur khamirSaccharomyces sp.kompleks(P1), suplementasi 0,40% kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp.kompleks (P2), dan suplementasi 0,60% kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp. kompleks (P3) .  Tiap petak/unit percobaan diisi dengan lima ekor ayam broiler umur satu hari dengan bobot badan homogen. Variabel yang diamati yaitu konsumsi ransum, bobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan, dan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp.komplekspada level 0,20%, 0,40% dan 0,60% dalam ransum secara nyata (P<0,05) dapat meningkatkan konsumsi ransum, bobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan, dan efisiensi penggunaan ransum dibandingkan kontrol. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi 0,20%, 0,40% dan 0,60% kultur khamir Saccharomyces sp.komplekssebagai sumber probiotik dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan penampilan broiler umur 1-5 minggu.

Abstract

This research has purpose to study the influence of giving cellulotic bacteria culture through drinking water as probiotic source to carcass physical composition of Balinese duck aged 8 weeks. Ducks that are used in this research were 54 Balinese ducks aged 1 day. Design used in this research is the Complete Random Design (CRD) with three treatments and six times of repetition. The three treatments are the ducks given drinking water without supplementation of cellulotic bacteria culture as control (A); drinking water with 0,20% cellulotic bacteria culture (B); and drinking water with 0,40% cellulotic bacteria culture (C). Variables that are observed are the percentage of carcass meat, percentage of carcass bone, percentage of carcass fat, and protein consumption. Research result shows that the giving of cellulotic bacteria culture as probiotic source at level of 0,20%-0,40% through drinking water shows the percentage of carcass meat at treatment (B) and (C) is significant (P0,05) which is higher than control (A), the percentage of subcutan fat including skin at treatment (B) and (C) shows significant result (P0,05) lower than control (A). From this research it can be concluded that the influence of giving cellulotic bacteria culture of buffalo rumen isolate as probiotic source through drinking water given at level of 0,20%-0,40% can increase the percentage of carcass meat and reducing the percentage of carcass fat of Balinese ducks aged 8 weeks.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of giving katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract towards colour, protein levels, fat levels, and the cholesterol of Lohmann Brown chicken egg yolks in the age of 22-30 weeks. This research has been implemented at the poultry farm in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan sub-district, Tabanan regency through three months. The design of experiment that applied in this research is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. Those 36 laying chicken of Lohmann Brown with homogeneous weight were raised in 18 squares of colony battery cages. The treatment consisted of drinking water without additional of katuk leaf water extract (K0) as the control, drinking water with addition of 3% katuk leaf water extract (K1), and drinking water with addition of 6% katuk leaf water extract (K2). The colour, protein levels, fat levels, and the cholesterol of egg yolks were the variables that observed in this research. The result showed that the colour of egg yolks and protein levels towards the (K1) and (K2) treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) higher than K0. However, the fat levels and the cholesterol of egg yolks towards the (K1) and (K2) treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) lower than the chicken which was not given the addition of katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract (K0) as the control. From the result, it can be concluded that the giving katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract with addition of 3% and 6% level through drinking water could increase the colour and the protein levels of chicken egg yolks and also the reduction of fat levels and cholesterol of chicken egg yolks of Lohmann Brown in the age of 22-30 weeks were occurred. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) dalam ransum terhadap karkas babi Landrace persilangan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Banjar Kamasan, Desa Dajan Peken, Kecamatan Tabanan, Kabupaten Tabanan selama kurang lebih tiga bulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu P0: Babi Landrace persilangan yang diberikan ransum tanpa probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) sebagai kontrol, P1; Babi Landrace persilangan yang diberikan ransum dengan probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) sebesar 0,1%, P2 : Babi Landrace persilangan yang diberikan ransum dengan probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragitape) sebesar 0,2%; dan P3: Babi Landrace persilangan yang diberikan ransum dengan probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) sebesar 0,3%. Masing-masing perlakuan memiliki 4 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati meliputi bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas dan konsumsi protein. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) 0,3% (P3) merupakan perlakuan dengan bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas dan konsumsi protein tertinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya yaitu masing-masing sebesar 74,35 kg/ek, 52,73 kg/ek, 71,06% dan 21.525,61 g/ek serta secara statistik berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) yang diberikan pada babi Landrace persilangan dapat menigkatkan bobot potong, berat karkas, persentase karkas dan konsumsi protein. Pemberian probiotik Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape) sebesar 0,3% merupakan hasil perlakuan terbaik. Kata kunci: Saccharomyces spp. (ragi tape), probiotik, karkas, babi Landrace persilangan

Abstract

Closed house waste which has so far been considered a contributor to environmental pollution if processed professionally, can be reused as a component of non-ruminant rations. The purpose of this study is to determine the production (potential, quantity, and quality) of broiler farm waste that is maintained in a closed house system. The cost of production of non-ruminant livestock (pig) 70-80% is still occupied by the cost of feed. The price of commercial concentrate is relatively expensive, which is a reason to look for alternative feed sources. The discovery of potential closed house chicken farm waste and innovative products as a source of protein in rations for non-ruminant (pig-poultry) is expected to the feed problem. Innovative product protein concentrate chicken farm waste of closed house (WCH) system that is cheap and competitive is produced through three stages of research: identify the type and availability of waste, its nutrient content, formulate various protein concentrate formulas, and small-scale tests on pigs with metabolic cage to determine metabolized energy content and digestibility. The results showed that the type of closed house waste (WCH) that has the potential as alternative animal feed is the waste of dead-refused chickens, and litter mixed with scattered feed. Production data in 4 periods of rearing, obtained the number of dead and rejected chickens weighing 850.7 kg (212.7 kg/period), and litter weight of 4000 kg (1000kg/period). Nutrient content of flour mixed with closed house waste (WCH), protein: 36.58%, crude fat: 4.42%, gross energy Kcal/gram. aboratory test of WCH was negative for Eschericia colli and Salmonella shigella, Coliform < 3.0 CFU/g, mold 200 CFU/g. The conclusion of this study is that the waste from closed house (LCH) broiler farms has the potential as a source of protein in alternative feeds for rumonants (chicken and pig).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sejauh mana pengaruh dari penambahan ragi tape dalam ransum sebagai probiotik terhadap performa produksi Babi Landrace persiangan pada fase stater. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Banjar Kamasan, Desa Dajan Peken Kabupaten Tabanan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari empat perlakuan, yaitu: P0: babi yang diberikan ransum tanpa ragi tape sebagai kontrol; P1: babi yang diberikan ransum dengan ragi tape sebesar 0,1%; P2: babi yang diberikan ransum dengan ragi tape sebesar 0,2%; dan P3: babi yang diberikan ransum dengan ragi tape sebesar 0,3%. Setiap perlakuan terdiri dari empat ulangan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumsi ransum, berat badan akhir, penambahan bobot badan serta feed convertion ratio (FCR). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penambahan ragi tape dalam ransum sebagai sumber probiotik sebesar 0,1%, 0,2%, 0,3% berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap berat badan akhir pertambahan bobot badan, dan FCR dibandingkan dengan babi yang diberikan ransum tanpa penambahan ragi tape, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan ragi tape dalam ransum Babi Landrace persilangan sebesar 0,1-0,3% dapat meningkatkan berat badan akhir, pertambahan berat badan, seta dapat menurunkan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR).
