Abstract

This research aimed to get the empirical data about learning output difference between cooperative method of Student Achievement Division (STAD) and conventional method for cost and budget planning course subject (case study for Cost and Budget Planning subject at SMKN 35 Jakarta). The research was conducted on December 1st – 16th, 2011. The method used is experimental method. The population is 143 students of SMKN 35 Jakarta majoring in Technical Construction Drawing (TCD). Number of samples used is 40 students consisted of 20 students from experimental class (TCD II) and 20 students from controlling class (TCD I). The instrument for this research was learning output test in a form of 25 multiple choice problems. Data analysis was using t test with analysis preliminary test required before using normality and homogeneity test. Based on the sampling data test, those two classes basically were normally distributed and homogeny population. Hypothesis test using t test shows that tcalculated = 7.81. Otherwise, when error level (alfa) equals 0.05 and n = 20, the ttable = 1.73. So tcalculated was larger than ttable (7.81>1.73). Next, we rejected the H0 and accepted H1, so there was a learning output difference between cooperative method of Student Achievement Division (STAD) and conventional method for cost and budget planning course subject. It was shown that learning model using STAD gave better learning output rather than the conventional method. It is suggested to use cooperative learning method of STAD as an alternative way to study budget planning course subject

Abstract

This research aims to know the significant difference of learning outcome for Static Course between presentation method and problem posing method to the students grade XII majoring in Timber Construction Subject at SMK Negeri 1 Jakarta. As the student’s learning outcome has not fulfilled the KKM for the Static course, so the problem posing method is applied to overcome the problem. Based on this method, the students are compulsory to be active in practicing for some tasks of Static which is created as self creating problems along with its solutions. The duration of the research is conducted from February 2012. The research method is experimental method. The populations are 36 students and the samples are also 36 students which is also considered using saturated sampling. It means that the number of population and sample is the same. The instrument used in this research is testing instrument (learning outcome test). The instrument consists of 10 essay problems. This instrument is valid and the reliability result among the instrument is 0.99 with a high correlation. The data is originated from the normally distributed and homogeneous population. The hypothesis is tested using t test and resulted thitung > ttabel or 2.44 > 1.697, so the H0 is rejected and the hypothesis is accepted.As the conclusion, there is a significant difference of learning outcome for Static course between presentation method and problem posing method to the students grade XII majoring in timber construction at SMK Negeri 1 Jakarta. The result of this research shows a productive learning output between the usage of Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word as the media of learning process for the subject: Vocational Furniture in SMKN 52 Jakarta. Based on that, we will conclude that the research hypothesis proposed is accepted and proved that the usage of Microsoft PowerPoint gives more effective result in learning output compared to the usage of Microsoft Word. So it is suggested for the application of the Microsoft PowerPoint as the alternative media in learning process especially for the Subject of Vocational Furniture

Abstract

This research aims to determine the constraint factors affecting the class management of courses content theory in Vocational High School Majoring in Building Construction for the students of Building Construction Education Study Program State University of Jakarta who attend the Teaching Apprenticeship Program (PPL). This research placed in eight vocational schools majoring in Building Construction in March until May 2012. The method used in this research is surveying method. The population in this research is 30 students of Building Construction Education Study Program Department of Civil Engineering Faculty of Engineering State University of Jakarta who teach the class content theory during the PPL. The number of samples is 28 students who are determined using simple random sampling. The additional data to strengthen this research is gained from 75 students (from 3 classes) which are established using purposive sampling. The instrument used in this research is using questionnaire to collect the data about constraint factors affecting the class management to the PPL students. Based on the calculation, we get the value of reliability r is 0.97 for the questionnaire spread both for the students and teachers in vocational high school.Based on the answers of the respondent from the PPL teachers and students, we can see that the students have more honest answer regarding the questionnaire. Constraint factors affecting the class management from the student’s answers to the teacher’s attitude indicator has the average value of 3.32. Constraint factors affecting the class management from the student’s answers to the student’s indicator has the average value of 3.04. Constraint factors affecting the class management from the student’s answers to the classroom management and teaching visual aids indicator has the average value of 2.96. And constraint factors affecting the class management from the student’s answers to the class discipline indicator has the average value of 2.59. Based on this research we can conclude that teacher’s attitude taken into first place for the constraint factors affecting the class management shown by the highest average score 3.32. It is caused by a minimum practice of teaching to the PPL students especially about class management and an ineffectiveness of briefing before PPL

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between student’s basic skill of teaching during Teaching Apprenticeship Program (PPL) at the Department of Civil Engineering Faculty of Engineering – State University of Jakarta and the results of learning process at vocational school majoring in building engineering. The research was conducted in nine vocational schools majoring in building engineering in the second semester – school year 2011/2012. The method used is surveying with the correlation approach, student’s basic skill of teaching data obtained from 240 samples PPL using Likert questionnaire that had been tested its model of validity and reliability. Validation is done by analyzing each item of proble; while reliability is obtained by using a formula that produces alpha r of 0.971 with the interpretation criteria is very high. Preparation of hypothesis testing is using regression done by generating a regression equation Y = 37.493 + 0.238 x. Hypothesis testing is done by t test and obtained tcount> Ttable with α = 0.05 (8.65> 1.651). Further, testing of correlation coefficient (rxy) with Product Moment formula obtained rxy = 0.489, the value shows the pattern of relationships was quite variable. The result of calculation of the coefficient of determination (rxy2) is 0.239. This means that the students' vocational 23.90% influenced by teaching students the basic skills of PPL. Thus the study concluded there is a relationship between teaching students the basic skills of the Field Experience Program (PPL) Department of Civil Engineering Faculty of Engineering, State University of Jakarta on vocational students' basic skills in the areas of teaching expertise

Abstract

This study aims to get information and the problem which is face by teacher about applied of authentic assessment base on curriculum 2013 in The Drawing of Buildings Engineering Program Expertise at 1 Vocational High School of Jakarta, 26 Vocational High School of Jakarta, and 35 Vocational High School of Jakarta.This study used survey method with data collection using structures interview techniques to get the information and the problem which is face by teacher about applied of authentic assessment base on curriculum 2013.The results of this study shown that the applied of authentic assessment base on curriculum 2013 in The Drawing of Buildings Engineering Program Expertise at Vocational High School Area of DKI Jakarta not going well. Because, just 29% respondents who have understanding the true of authentic assessment. RPP preparation only performed by 71% respondents and 100% respondents not preparation instruments realm of attitudes and skill but only preparation instrument of knowledge. However, almost all the teacher 95% respondents not conduction an analysis of the quality assessment instrument realm of knowledge that has been made. The follow up program given by 86% respondents for the students in the form of remedial activities. For the results of this study shown too that 86% respondents states find the problem in the applied of authentic assessment

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence students' learning difficulties On Skill Of Competency Architecture Engineering (Case Study at SMK Negeri 4 South Tangerang) academic year 2043/2015. The research lasted for 2 months from Marct to April 2015.In this study, the writer uses the survey method. The population in this study was the architecture engineering students of grade X year 2014/2015, a total of 71 students. The data collection tool used in this study was a questionnaire. Trial questionnaire instrument conducted by15 respondents majoring in class XI skill of competency architecture engineering. The analysis of instrument trial and error was conducted on the validity and reliability (Cronbach Alpha), for the number of fixed statement items is 25 items and the reliability result r11 = 0.91.Based on the data from the percentage of the number of students, the results of this study indicate that the factors affecting students' learning difficulties are largely on the internal factors which are psychological factor indicators with sub readiness of students (over 51%) and subtalent of students (over 50%). Meanwhile, the external factors that affect students' learning difficulties are largely on the indicators of school environmental factors with sub methods used by teachers (over 50%) and sub relationships between students (over 50%).

Abstract

This research aimed to understand students’ perception about PKM students teaching skills majoring in building technique. The research took places in SMKN 1 Jakarta, SMKN 4 Jakarta, SMKN 26 Jakarta, SMKN 35 Jakarta, SMKN 58 Jakarta, and SMKN 1 Cibinong in between April-May 2015.The method used in this research is the Survey method. The subjects of this research were the student from the 10th grade that are taught theoretically by the teachers from the PKM program from Civil Engineering, State University Of Jakarta 102 semester, while the population consists of the student from SMKN 1 Jakarta, SMKN 4 Jakarta, SMKN 26 Jakarta, SMKN 35 Jakarta, SMKN 58 Jakarta, and SMKN 1 Cibinong Program Building Engineering expertise as much as 532 students in those vocational schools, and 221 samplers were taken by purposive sampling method. The instruments used in this research to collect the data about the students perception, are questionnaire about students perception on PKM students teaching skills majoring in building technique. The data processing is valid and reliable, with very high reliability number of r11= 0,956, with 32 numbers of questions.The result shows that the PKM students are skilled already in questioning (85%), giving variation (68%), explaining (67%), class management (72%), starting and closing the lesson (69%), guiding small groups (67%), and teaching small groups and individual (70%). Yet in giving reinforcement, it is still considered as low (49%).

Abstract

This study was aimed to know the representation that refers to students' learning styles of Grasha Model-Reichmann in vocational subjects of 10th Grade of Vocational High School (VHS), Competency of Architecture Engineering. The study lasted from April to May 2015.This research is using a descriptive quantitative survey approach. The population in this study were all 10th students of 26 and 52 VHS of Jakarta with a total of 122 people. The sampling method is using the saturated sampling techniques with a total of 122 people. The techniques used for data collection are communication techniques and documentation. The instrument for students that are used in the form of a questionnaire from a total of 60 statements refers to Grasha-Reichmann Student Learning Style (GRSLS). The result is that there are 49 number of valid statement with very high reliability of (r11) = 0.96.Based on the research that has been done, the students' learning styles that is mainly used to the Subject of Building Construction is the collaborative learning style (78.93%), collaborative learning style (80.00%) for the Measure Soil Science Subjects, collaborative learning style (78.50%) for the Engineering Mechanics Subject, and participant learning styles (75.66%) for the Subject of engineering drawings.Results of interviews with teachers indicate that the Subject Building Construction, Measure Soil Science and Engineering Mechanics during the learning process using lecture while teaching style to the Subject engineering drawings using peer tutors. The difference between the student's learning style with teachers teaching style shows the results obtained by each student also had differences.

Abstract

The objectives of this research was designed to : (1) Develop interactive multimedia learning of class X of engineering mechanics on the simple beam construction subjects. (2) Determine the feasibility of the developed media learning. (3) Knowing whether the resulting product can improve learning outcomes in a simple beam construction subjects.This research is a R&D (Research and Development). The method used is an experimental method. Validated by expert instructional media content and media experts to get the feasibility trial. Further trials conducted on students of class X of expertise Building Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Jakarta totaling 83 people. Analysis results of students learning used t-test independent samples of the two parties with software SPSS 22.The results of this development means that the experimental class obtain the mean difference in learning outcomes (pre -test and post-test ) of 38.46 and a spike of 19.21 % . While the control class, obtained a mean difference of learning outcomes (pre -test and post-test ) of 26.59 and a spike of 13.3% . So we can conclude interactive multimedia learning development more effectively used in the learning process of engineering mechanics in class X SMK Negeri 1 Jakarta

Abstract

The research aim to develop teaching materials for electronic module of soilmechanicssubject.ResearcherusingResearchandDevelopment(R&D)using Borg and Gall model which has been simplified by Sugiyono. This research conducted the steps of research and development: (1) Research and information collecting, (2) Planning, (3) Develop preliminary form of product, (4) Preliminary field testing, (5) Main product revision, (6) Main field testing, (7) Operation product revision, (8) Operational field testing, (9) Final product revision and (10) Dissemination and implementation. This research uses non-test instruments data collection techniques, namely questionnaires. Questionnaires were given to material experts and media experts to test the feasibility of teaching material for electronic module of soilmechanics. The results of the feasibility of teaching material for electronic module of soil mechanics subject is consists of 16 learning activities are as follows: a) Assessment by media experts gets 90,835% which is categorized as very good; b) Assessment by material experts gets 80,69% which is categorized as good. Based on the results of feasibility, can be concluded that of teaching material for electronic module of soil mechanics is appropriate and suitable for use as a variation for learning on soil mechanics subject by lecturer and students.
