Abstract

This study stems from the phenomenon that social studies learning needs to be developed by creative teachers based on their cultural values. Social studies teachers must be able to understand the problems of social life and develop social skills in their respective cultures. This research aims to describe the cultural values of siri’ na pacce’ for the Bugis-Makassar, and how to integrate these cultural values into social studies learning in the digital age.  The research method used is a literature study method by reviewing and identifying the cultural values of siri’ na pacce’ including books, journals, or articles, then presented and analyzed. The cultural value of siri’ na pacce’ for the Bugis-Makassar described in two concepts that characterize the Bugis-Makassar individual to maintain a balance between disgrace and self-esteem which is defined as siri’ and to maintain a sense of togetherness in the position and suffering of each member of the society asserted as pacce’ notion. The integration of  siri ‘na pacce’ in social studies learning makes students understand their own culture, able to behave and behave according to customs, such as the application of the spirit of Abulo Sibbatang through the discussion method. Story-based methods by displaying animated videos and images about the persistence of Bugis-Makassar sailors and the story in the script of I La Galigo. Thus that teachers are more creative and innovative in designing interesting learning in the digital age.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis sangat dibutuhkan dalam proses pembelajaran, terlebih lagi saat ini pembelajaran diselenggarakan secara hybrid. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara komprehensif mengenai keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik dalam pembelajaran hybrid. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merujuk pada mixed method atau metode campuran karena mengkombinasikan antara metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil yang dicapai dari penelitian ini bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran hybrid sudah cukup tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 73,41. Secara spesifik, hanya terdapat dua deskriptor yang capaiannya masih di bawah 70% yaitu mengenai keterampilan menganalisis dan menjawab pertanyaan berdasarkan fakta. Adapun pada deskriptor lainnya, peserta didik sebagian besar telah memilikinya. Deskriptor tertinggi terkait dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah keterampilan peserta didik dalam menyusun kesimpulan dari materi pembelajaran.

Abstract

The history learning’s vision is the value that inculcation to students in order to form perfect character. However, in practice, history subject that included in the national curriculum limited to national aspects and teachers ability sometimes perceived to be less relevant to time demand. This article will discuss the potential of developing local history material as a contextual source of learning in addition to national history based on a descriptive study of the Community Service Program in 2019. Through literature study, we can conclude that (1) local history has strategic value as an alternative source of history learning (2) the use of local history as a source of contextual history learning can be integrated with national history learning (3) the lack of use of local history in learning in schools requires a structured effort to develop it optimally.

Abstract

Disaster education is one of the efforts in preparing students to be prepared for disasters in their environment. By preparing for disaster preparedness, of course, it is not easy to get used to going through a long process. Disaster education is very important to carry out starting from basic education to higher education, especially for countries that have a high level of disaster vulnerability. The study in writing this article aims to find out conceptually, theoretically, and implement how disaster education can be integrated into the 2013 curriculum, especially in social studies subjects. The method used in this study is the library research method, or it can also be called the literature review method, which is a type of study conducted by reviewing relevant relevant literatures. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that disaster education can be integrated into social studies learning through 6 basic competency standards. Disaster education by utilizing the environment around students as a source of disaster learning.

Abstract

Guru sebagai juru taman memiliki makna yang mendalam, yang mana taman akan diolah menjadi tandus atau subur tergantung dari bagaimana seorang guru dapat mengelola taman tersebut. Taman disini kalau diibaratkan sebagai siswa yang berada di dalam kelas, maka memiliki arti bahwa baik dan tidaknya kelas tersebut tergantung dari guru yang memiliki kewenangan untuk mengelola kelas dengan baik.  Begitu juga dengan pengembangan karakter bagi siswa dibutuhkan figur teladan yang dimiliki oleh guru dengan bidang keahlian yang sesuai dengan tuntutan materi pembelajarannya. Namun sayangnya, masih banyak yang menganggap bahwa pendidikan karakter hanya cukup diajarkan sebatas pengetahuan. Hal ini mengakibatkan pendidikan karakter seolah-olah terasa hambar dan cenderung membosankan. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sosok guru teladan yang memiliki keahlian dalam pembelajaranlah yang akan mampu menjadikan peserta didik yang berkarakter.Kata kunci: karakter, keahlian guru, pengelolaan kelas.

Abstract

Social capital can strengthen social potential in developing various aspects, including local tourism. Regarding the development of local tourism, social capital is described through 2 dimensions: bonds, and bridges (association). Bonding social capital is understood as close kinship capital (family environment to peers). Bridging social capital (association) is described as the capital of relatively distant kinship (coworkers and colleagues). This article describes the relationship between social capital, bonds, and bridges related to local tourism development. The research was conducted in Kampung Hijau Banjarmasin. The results show that the social capital of bonds and bridges, rooted in religious values and inherited through family parenting, play important roles in nurturing caring personality towards the environment. As a result, residential areas along river banks that were formerly slums become organized and healthy spaces.

Abstract

The taklim assembly is one of the religious activities carried out in the community. The existence of the taklim assembly is essential in instilling religious values ​​into the community during the moral decline that is currently an issue. In addition, with the taklim assembly, the community can also interact with one another. Therefore, this religious activity of the taklim assembly can also be used as a learning resource in social studies, which aims to make it easier for educators to provide contextual examples to students. So this study describes the religious activities of the taklim assembly as a source of social studies learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, presentation, member checks, and triangulation. The results of the study describe that the religious activities of the taklim assembly can be used as a learning resource on social studies because, in this case, the environment is also a necessity in obtaining information in knowing something, so that the environment can be used as a learning resource on social studies for students.

Abstract

Digitalization of learning is appropriate as a form of adjustment in facing the challenges of the 21st century. The problem faced is that teaching materials that are on the characteristics of students need to be developed properly, especially digital teaching materials, which also support improving critical thinking skills as one of the 21st-century skills. This study aims to develop digital teaching materials (e-modules) in social science learning to optimize students' critical thinking skills. The research design refers to Rowntree's development research which includes planning, development and evaluation. The e-module effectiveness test was carried out using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 104 class VIII students. Data was collected through interviews, observation, questionnaires and essay tests. Data analysis used the paired samples test, with the prerequisite test data being normally distributed and homogeneous. The tests' results stated that the research data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the paired samples test stated that the social science learning e-module had a positive and significant contribution. It was concluded that social science learning e-modules were effectively used to optimize students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The writing of this article departs from intolerance problem that still often encountered, such as students who only want to make friends with friends of the same religion, not respecting and appreciating differences between friends and the lack of concern of students for peers. This is expected to be overcome if students learn Beji Antaboga material as a symbol of tolerance in Social Studies Learning. The purpose of this article is to find out the utilization of Beji Antaboga as material in social studies learning. The problems studied in this paper are (1) Why Beji Antaboga can be said as a form of tolerance between religious communities? (2) How to integrate Beji Antaboga into social studies learning? The method used in this research is a literature study, where the required materials/data are obtained from the library, both books, documents, journals, encyclopedias, articles and others. The results showed that Beji Antaboga is a pine forest area where existed different worshipping places for six official religions in Indonesia. It represents a tolerance attitude in Beji Antaboga. The existence of the religious tolerance in Beji Antaboga can be integrated into social studies learning for class IV students, the odd semester on study material about Diversity of Ethnicity and Culture by using a field trip method.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengeksplor nilai-nilai Saba Budaya Baduy dalam menjaga lingkungan dari ancaman kerusakan akibat pariwisata dan sebagai modal sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian mendeskripsikan bahwa Saba Budaya merupakan nilainilai kearifan lokal Suku Baduy yang bermakna silaturahmi. Sebagai kearifan lokal, maka bentuk tata nilai, persepsi, perilaku, dan respons masyarakat Suku Baduy pada wisatawan yang datang bermakna silaturahmi pada saudara jauh. Dengan demikian, mereka harus menyambut dan menjamu tamunya (wisatawan). Sebaliknya, pada wisatawan juga berlaku adab dan aturan bertamu yang berlaku di Baduy. Silaturahmi dalam Saba Budaya terkandung nilai-nilai saling menghormati, saling menyayangi, saling menjaga, saling memperhatikan satu sama lain tanpa menghilangkan kesan bersenang-senang seperti halnya tujuan berwisata.
