Abstract

Improving communication skill through mathematics learning should be owned by students in their daily lives. Such effort should be done to reach mathematics learning purpose. This research aims to create review effectiveness of CIRC typed cooperative learning to students? mathematics communication skills, and obtain the existence of mathematics communication skill differences reviewed by student emotional quotient. This mixed method research used triangulation concurrent method. The subjects were fifth graders of 03 Public Primary School Ngaliyan Semarang. The findings showed that CIRC typed cooperative learning reached classical accomplishment with only 68.57%. It meant it had not reached classical accomplishment criteria 70%. The average of mathematics communication skill test by using CIRC was 71.54, better than those taught by discovery learning with 54.43. There was improvement of the students? mathematics communication. And the emotional quotients of the students did not influence their mathematics communication skill improvement. Thus, it could be concluded that CIRC typed cooperative learning could effectively improve mathematics communication skills of the students. Based on the findings, it is suggested to create questions emphasizing on indicators and implementing emotional quotients as efforts to improve mathematics communication skills.?

Abstract

The role of the teacher becomes an interesting topic to discuss, no exception related to performance. Teacher performance is related to the success of teachers in carrying out their duties and obligations. However, many factors affect teacher performance. This study aims to examine and analyze teacher performance with various factors that influence it. The method used is quantitative. The population was all 911 state junior high school teachers in Kudus Regency. The number of samples was 186 teachers. Data was collected through a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using path analysis by SPSS program and the Sobel test to assess mediation variables. The results showed that: first, the influence of the principal's leadership, teacher commitment and emotional intelligence of teachers to work motivation is accepted; second, the influence of school principal leadership, teacher commitment and emotional intelligence of teachers on teacher performance through work motivation is accepted; and third the influence of work motivation on teacher performance is accepted. Work motivation has also been proven to be able to mediate the influence of school principal leadership, teacher commitmen and emotional intelligence of teachers on teacher performance. The performance of state junior high school teachers in Kudus in carrying out their duties and obligations is influenced by a number of factors including school principal leadership, commitment, teacher emotional intelligence and work motivation. It is recommended that teachers can maintain and even increase commitment and understanding and management of emotions so that it can have an impact on the performance of each teacher.

Abstract

Stimulation on language development aspects is greatly needed since humans’ life may not be separated from language use and acquisition. This research aims at examining the influence of literacy and read aloud activities on the early childhood education students’ receptive language skills. This research is a correlational quantitative study conducted with a survey approach. The research population was the students of Early Childhood Education Institutions in South Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. There were 54 Early Childhood Education Institutions in South Purwokerto District divided into 7 groups/clusters. The sampling of this research was conducted by using the Slovin’s formula with the total samples of 115 students of Early Childhood Education Institutions. The data was collected through observation and then descriptively analyzed in percentages using multiple regression analysis supported with SPSS 23.0. The research results showed that literacy activities influenced the Early Childhood Education students’ receptive language skills with the t-count value of 6.620 at the significance of 0.000. Read aloud activities also influenced the Early Childhood Education students’ receptive language skills with the t-count value of 8.066 at the significance of 0.000. Literacy and read aloud activities significantly influenced the Early Childhood Education students’ receptive language skills with the f-count value of 70.386 at the significance of 0.000 and the total influence of 55.5%. Thus, it is suggested that literacy and read aloud activities should be continuously made to improve the Early Childhood Education students’ receptive language skills.

Abstract

Interest in learning is an important aspect for students in the teaching and learning process. Student learning interest arises influenced by various factors including learning facilities, the school environment and self-regulation. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of learning facilities and the school environment through self-regulation on the learning interests of elementary school students. This research is a correlational study with a cross sectional study approach. There were 138 students taken as sampling from the total population. The instrument used was a questionnaire and data analysis was performed statistically, with multiple regression test. The results showed that learning facilities affect student learning interest. The school environment influences student interest in learning and self-regulation moderates the influence between learning facilities and the school environment on student interest in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to This study aims to describe the empowerment process and supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the economic empowerment of the community through BUMDES in Lerep Tourism Village. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, the method of data collection uses interviews, observation and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 2 BUMDES managers as key informants, 4 BUMDES members as additional informants. The data validity technique uses source triangulation and methods. The data analysis technique uses data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. The results of the study show that the empowerment process has 7 stages, namely: the preparation stage, the assessment of alternative planning programs or activities, the perfomalization of the action plan, the implementation of programs or activities, evaluation and termination; the drivers of empowerment are abundant natural resources, support from the community and the government, as well as the intentions and enthusiasm of empowered individuals. While the inhibiting factor is the lack of human resources who understand the BUMDES, the budget is still minimal, and the community lacks confidence in the importance of the BUMDES.

Abstract

Religious education aims to educate students with the understanding and practice of the values of religious teaching and is based on noble characters (ahlaqul karimah). The values of religious teachings and characters are part of character education which now has become an inevitability in the implementation of education. Madrasah diniyyah has become one of the important pillars and has had an undeniable role in carrying out religious education. The dynamics of social development and educational innovation are a challenge for the existence of madrasah diniyyah, one of which is in the field of curriculum management. It is absolutely that curriculum management is a necessity for Madrasah diniyyah to be able to respond to the demands and challenges of social dynamics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning, organization, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of curriculum in Madrasah Diniyyah. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design. Moreover, the data obtained through the interview, observation, and document study. The results showed that the curriculum planning of Madrasah Diniyyah referred to the vision and stipulation of the FKDT (Diniyyah Takmiliyyah Communication Forum) which was aligned with the social condition. The composition of the curriculum is divided into three forms, namely learning activities, cultural art skills, and practicing religious values. The curriculum of madrasah diniyyah was implemented in the classroom in the form of learning, and outside the classroom in the form of guidance and skills activities. The supervision and evaluation of the curriculum were carried out by the supervisor and principal of madrasah diniyyah regularly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of pedagogic competence, academic supervision, work environment on teacher performance through work motivation as an intervening variable in SMK Negeri Kabupaten Batang. Teacher performance is the result of work or work performance carried out by a teacher based on his ability to manage teaching and learning activities in the classroom. The population in this study were all State Vocational School teachers in Batang Regency as many as 277 people. The sample size of the study sample was 160 teachers. Sampling was done by proportional random sampling. The research instrument used was a questionnaire which first tested its validity and reliability. Data analysis for hypothesis testing used path analysis and Sobel test to test the mediating variables. The results showed: (1) Pedagogic competence, academic supervision, work environment, have a direct effect on work motivation, the effect is positive and significant. (2) Pedagogic competence, academic supervision, and work environment have a direct and indirect effect on teacher performance by mediating work motivation, the effect is positive and significant. Professional guidance provided by principals to teachers is an effort that provides opportunities for teachers to develop professionally so that they are even better in carrying out their main task of teaching in the classroom. These teachers become able and willing to improve and enhance the learning abilities of students.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in the process of improving human resources (HR). Human resources are the factors that have the biggest role in achieving organizational goals effectively and efficiently. This research aims to determine the effect of principal's leadership and teacher commitment on teacher performance with organizational culture as the mediating variable for public high school teachers in Kudus Regency. The sampling technique used is proportionate random sampling with a total sample of 207 teachers taken from seven public schools in Kudus Regency. Data analysis employes path analysis with the help of AMOS 24.0 program. Questionnaire is used as the instrument of data collection. The results show that principal's leadership and teacher commitment directly affect organizational culture; principal's leadership and organizational culture affect teacher performance; teacher commitment does not affect teacher performance; and principal's leadership affects teacher commitment. As for the indirect effect, organizational culture is able to mediate the effect of principals' leadership on teacher performance, while organizational culture is not able to mediate the effect of teacher commitment on teacher performance.

Abstract

Polyglot Indonesia is a form of nonformal learning organization that concerns on developing the intercultural communication skill of its members. This study shows how the organization element (organizational climate) helps to develop intercultural communication skill of the members. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of organizational climate mediated by self motivation towards intercultural communication skill of Polyglot Indonesia members. This study is categorized as ex-postfacto study with quantitative approach. The population of this study are 152 members of Polyglot Indonesia who have been joining the whatsapp group of Polyglot Indonesia All chapters and the sample that used in this study are 110 respondents. The data were collected through online questionnaire. The data analysis was using SPSS 21.0 Software. The results and conclusion of this study are, (1) t value regression of X variable towards Y is 2,122 and significance level is 0,036, which means there is a significant direct influence on organizational climate towards intercultural communication skill of Polyglot Indonesia members; (2) t value regression of X variable towards Z is 2,957 and significance level is 0,004, which means there is significant direct influence on organizational climate towards self motivation of Polyglot Indonesia members; (3) t value regression of X variable towards Y mediated by Z is 2,333 and significance level is 0,05, which means there is a significant indirect influence on organizational climate mediated by self motivation towards intercultural communication skill of Polyglot. Indonesia members. This study new finding shows that self motivation strengthened the impact of organization element in achieving organization goal as nonformal learning organization. The study benefit for the science development is to show a form of nonformal learning through learning organization and enhance the knowledge of the core value of nonformal learning itself.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran mediasi motivasi kerja dan stres kerja atas pengaruh supervisi akademik pengawas sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru serta menganalisis pengaruh langsung antar variabel eksogen terhadap variabel endogen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian penjelasan (eksplanatory research). Penelitian ini dilakukan di 19 SMK baik Negeri maupun Swasta Se-Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara – Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur, dengan guru sebagai subyek penelitian. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 402 orang, dan jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 174 orang dengan menggunakan teknik proporsional random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah pengukuran skala dengan menggunakan Skala Likert. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi WarpPLS 5.0. Temuan hasil penelitian ini adalah supervisi akademik pengawas sekolah secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja guru dan stres kerja, namun tidak signifikan mempengaruhi motivasi kerja. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja guru dan motivasi kerja, namun tidak signifikan mempengaruhi stres kerja. Motivasi kerja secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja guru. Stres kerja secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi kerja, namun tidak signifikan mempengaruhi kinerja guru. Hasil pengaruh tidak langsung memberikan bukti bahwa motivasi kerja dan stres kerja tidak dapat menjadi variabel mediator untuk hubungan antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru tetapi dapat menjadi variabel mediator secara parsial untuk hubungan antara supervisi akademik pengawas sekolah dan kinerja guru.
