Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low. This type of research is experimental, the research design pre eksperimental design : static group comparison. The population in this research is the students in grade VIII SMPN 14 Padang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, that takes into account the characteristics of the students and teachers of mathematics are the same . Characteristic in question is the grade VIII.5 and VIII.6 an unruly class , noise . Nonetheless VIII.5 class and VIII.6 have good creativity , which is chosen as the experimental class is a class VIII.5 as VIII.6 control class. Instruments used in this study is the final test. Form of essay tests, results of the analysis items show about the final test reliable. The data analysis technique used is the one side test with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the results of the final test data analysis can be found P-value=0,002 is less than α=0,05, so that hypothesis is approved. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Teknik Pasar VIII.5 SMPN 14 Padang grade better than students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models VIII.6 grade SMPN 14 Padang.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis research was conducted for the students’ lack of ability in mathematical thinking and mathematical communication, and for their low achievement in learning in class IX of SMPN 14 Padang. This research was intended to reveal whether the mathematical thinking and mathematical communication of the students taught by using Knowledge-Shared strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class IX of SMPN 14 Padang. This was an experimental research. The instruments of the research were a questionnaire and a posttest on thinking and communication ability. The students’ learning achievement was seen from the result of the posttest. The result of data analysis indicated that the hypothesis of the research was accepted. Therefore, it was concluded that the mathematical thinking and mathematical communication of the students taught by using Knowledge-Shared strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class IX of SMPN 14 Padang. In addition, based on the result of the questionnaire it was known that the students’ attitude toward the learning process by applying Knowledge-Shared strategy was in good category.

Abstract

                                                       ABSTRACT This research are motivated by the students comprehension of mathematical concept is still low and students are less willing to share in group. The purpose of this research is to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing the Thinking loud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) technique is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 27 Padang. this was an experimental research which used pre experimental design: static groupcomparison. The sampling was done by purposive sampling. The  sampling in this research are class VIII.5 and VIII.6. Instrument used is test comprehension of mathematical concept in the form of essay. Based on the result of item analysis, it was revealed that final test item was reliable with r11 = 0,80 and rtable  = 0,388. Hypothesis test used t-test one way with MINITAB software. Based on the math final test result from both of the sample class obtained that tvalue = 2,07 while ttable = 1,65, because tvalue  ttable, then hypothesis was received. It can be conclude that Students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAAPS) is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept.

Abstract

Abstrak The background of the research is the lack of understanding mathematical concepts student’s in learning mathematic. The aims of this research is to know the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning model TTW is better than the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. Besign of this research is experimental research by random design. The population of research was students of class VIII grade SMP 2 Lengayang Academic Year 2013/2014, which consists of eight classes. Technique of random sampling , the sample is selected as class VIIId as experimental class and VIIIe as control class. Instrumentation of this research is the understanding of mathematical concepts Form of the test used is a form of essays with a reliability test is = 0.81. The technique data analysis is the one parties of t-test. Based on the calculation of the data analysis the class was normally distributed with  = 0.0872  and = 0.1108. Hypothesis testing results obtained  then the hypothesis in this research was received. It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning TTW is better than understanding of  mathematical concepts that students applying convensional learning in VIII  SMPN 2 Lengayang 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was intended to reveal what the students’ learning motivation by applying Everyone is A Teacher Here (ETH) active learning strategy accompanied with Icebreaker was and whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using ETH active learning strategy accompanied with Icebreaker was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VII of SMPN 2 Pariaman. The instruments of the research were questionnaire and posttest. The data gotten then was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. Furthermore, the result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated was higher than ttable. Thus it was concluded that the use of Everyone is A Teacher Here (ETH) active learning strategy could motivate the students to learn.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research by the students lack of understanding of mathematic concept that students look at mathematics learning outcomes of students at class XI Engineering of SMKN 8 Padang and the students lack the opportunity to share knowledge with friends. This research to determine the students understanding of mathematical concepts are taught with active learning strategies type synergetic Teaching using Speed Test better than understanding of mathematical concepts students by conventional teaching student at class XI Engineering of SMKN 8 Padang academic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental study, the design of randomized trials on the subject. The population in this study were all students of class XI Engineering SMK 8 Padang listed school year 2013/2014 which consists of four classes. To determine the experimental class and control class is done at random, so the class XI TKJ 1 elected as experiment class  and class XI TKJ 2 as control class. The instrument used in this study is a test student understanding of mathematical concepts. Form of the test used is a form of essay test with reliability 0.82.  Based on the results of the analysis of the data found that both classes of normally distributed and homogeneous samples. To test the hypothesis used the t test with MINITAB, obtained P-value = 0.007. Since the P-value is smaller than α = 0.05, then reject H0. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts with active learning strategies type synergetic Teaching Using Speed Test better than comprehension of mathematical concepts students with conventional learning.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The background of This research is students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low, inactive, unwilling to issue an opinion, and do not want to ask one way around that is to implement a strategy PQ4R. This study aims to look at the activity in the learning of mathematics students and whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research, the research design Against Random subject. The study population students of class VIII SMPN 11 South Solok academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, VIII.1 class was selected as the experimental class and the control class VIII.2. The instrument used in this study is the ultimate test of understanding of mathematical concepts and observation of student activity sheets. Form of the test used was obtained about the form of essays and reliable. The data analysis technique used is the t test of the party with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the analysis of data it is known that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at significance level α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.001 less than the significance level α = 0.05, the research hypothesis is accepted so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts using conventional learning class VIII SMP 11 South Solok, at 95% confidence level .

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis research aimed to know understanding the mathematic concept of students XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman by using active learning Strategy tipe peer lesson is better than conventional learning. The type of this research is experimental research by design randomized subject. The population of this research is students of XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau . The technique taked the sample is random, as an experimental class XI IPA1 and a control class XI IPA3. Istruments used in the study is final test in the form of essays. Tne Data obtained in the analysis by using a normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at the level of α = 0,05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value = 0,003 means less than α = 0,05, the hypothetical in this study received. So by applying active learning strategy tipe peer lesson is better than the students understanding matematic concept with conventional learning students of XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman 2013/2014 school year with a 95% confidence level.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted for the students’ low understanding on mathematics concept. This purpose of the research was to study whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Peer-Tutoring teaching assisted with a quiz was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Kota Solok. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The instrument of the research was a test on conceptual understanding. The data gained was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the two classes were normally distributed and homogenous on the level of significance α = 0,05. The result of the hypothesis test showed that the value of tcalculated (3,7) was higher than ttable (1,709) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Based on the these result, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Peer-Tutoring teaching assisted with a quiz was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of MTsN Kota Solok.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and students are not motivated to learn mathematics. This research is head for determine whethert students understanding of mathematical concepts by using cooperative learning one to one techniques model is better than students by conventional learning and to find out how students matematic learn motivation by applying the cooperative learning model one to one techniques. Type of this research is experimental. The population of this research is VIII class students of the SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping. Instrument used in this reaserch is questionnaire of motivation and the last test for the understanding of mathematical concepts. The test form used is essay form with reliabilities test is . Data analysis techniques used is t test one side at the α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained that  mean while , because . So the hypothesis of this research is accepted and with the resault can be inferred that students understanding of matematical concept by applying the cooperative learning one to one techniques model is better than student  understanding of matematical concept taught by conventional learning the VIII class students of the SMPN Lubuk Sikaping junior high school in lessons 2013-2014.
