Abstract

Education can be obtained through school, in each school the implementation in learning uses guidelines which are in the form of a curriculum. Learning of the curriculum of 2013 is learning that links core competencies’ and indicator that are put together from several subjects. Observation results found that the implementation of the curriculum 2013 learning still appear difficult in correlating subjects with themes. Purpose of the research to describe the implementation of the 2013 curriculum at elementary school. The research method used is descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were all students of grade elementary school 03 Langsat Permai that consists of 23 students. Data collection techniques that has been collected soberly without any intention to make generalizations from results of the research. The results of the study in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum learning in grade 5 in public elementary school of 03 Langsat Permai were in accordance with the learning tools made by the teacher and students learning activities were good such as observing, reading, writing, practicing and trying.

Abstract

The kind of this research is a Classroon Action Research. The purpose of this research is to increase the motivation and study result of students in Mathematics Education study program FKIP UNRI who follow the Linear Program course by applying the Implementation of Brainstorming method. Learning is carried out by applying the implementation of the Brainstorming method through five stages: (1) providing information and motivation (orientation); (2) identification (analysis); (3) classification (synthesis); (4) verification and (5) conclusion (agreement). The subject of this research 40 students which follow was conducted in two cycles, from cycle I to cycle II. The results show that there was an increase of students‟learning motivation almost in all indicators. The percentage of students who scored „very good‟, increasing from 10% to 20% and the percentage of students who scored „good‟, increasing from 20% to 27.5%. The percentage of students who scored „good enough‟ and „deficient‟ decreased respectively from 32.5% to 25% and from 27.5% to 17.5%. While the percentage of students who scored “very deficient” is permanent.

Abstract

This study aims to improve communication skills and critical thinking by implementing inquiry-based learning and carried out through classroom action research. This study was carried out on even semester students of earth physics courses in Riau physics education study program totaling 35 people in the 2017/2018 school year. Data collected through observation sheets and understanding concepts that were analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results of the data analysis concluded that there was an increase in communication skills by 20%. The results of the analysis of critical thinking for cycle I with 2.9% were categorized as very good and for the less well with 25.7% while for cycle II the category was very good with 40% increasing to 37.1%. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the ability of communication skills and critical thinking of students increases. This means that inquiry-based learning can improve communication skills and critical thinking in physics education students.

Abstract

Teaching material is a complete elaboration of the main material written in the curriculum or syllabus. Choosing and developing teaching materials is a must that is done by teachers. So that learning is in accordance with the learning objectives to be achieved. Choosing teaching materials is not just about collecting teaching material, but it must fulfill what is needed by students so that an effective, systematic and interesting learning process will be created. Likewise for English for Specific Purposes class, teaching English at agribusiness major of the University of PasirPengaraianwas still has problem in providing suitable teaching material.The purpose of this research wereto describe Agribusiness students’ goals in learning English What do students’ needs toward English teaching material. This research implemented research and development research design with the respondent of 52 students. The result of research showed that most of students expected that they could master English vocabulary related to Agribusiness and they needed in English teaching material discusses more about specific vocabulary but less portion for grammar. In addition, they also need the teaching material covered four English skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimization of local revenue management in improving the economy in the village. Based on the research objectives, this research is a type of Mixed Methods research. According to Creswell (2007) research using mixed methods is a research approach by combining qualitative and quantitative research. Data collection methods in this study were conducted with interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The data collected is qualitative data and numbers. Data analysis techniques are the process of simplifying data in a form that is easier to read and implement. Data analysis using multiple regression analysis method with hypothesis testing and descriptive analysis. The form of multiple regression equations is formulated in a regression equation about the management of regional original income abbreviated as PAD village to increase the village economy. The results of the study revealed that the management of village PAD carried out by the Village Government was in accordance with its management procedures. Increased rural economic development due to optimal management of the Village PAD, so that the welfare of the people in the village can increase.In general, the management of PAD Desa is in accordance with management in general, starting from planning, organizing, monitoring and accountability. Based on interviews conducted, the Village Government has always set a strategy to coordinate with all actors, especially managers and the Village Government and BPD. With good coordination and cooperation on the management of the Village PAD, the aim of improving the village economy can be done well.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning outcomes in Number Theory course. The improvements made were by applying the 5E Learning Cycle learning model. Learning Cycle 5E is based on constructivist learning theory. According to constructivist theory one must build his own knowledge. This 5E Learning Cycle Learning follows 5 stages: 1.Engagement, 2 Exploration, 3.Explanation, 4. Elaboration, 5. Evaluation. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, with sequences of activities, initial reflection, action planning, and implementation of actions, observation and reflection. At the end of each cycle a quiz is carried out, which is useful to observe the development of student learning outcomes from conventional learning to learning by applying the 5E Learning Cycle. The results of observations show improvements in student activities and interactive learning. Analysis of student learning outcomes data also showed an increase in average learning outcomes, namely 57.8 in conventional learning to 64 at the end of cycle 1 by implementing 5E Learning Cycle and becoming 70.8 at the end of the second cycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test the validity of Book based on Riau traditional cultural with the approach of Physics Concepts. The method of this research is Research and Development. It was conducted in the physics laboratory in physics education program at the university of Riau. Three physics educators to validate this book. The data is analyzed by a descriptive analysis to categorize the average score of the validity of Book based on Riau traditional cultural with the approach of Physics Concepts. Based on the analysis of research data, it is obtained an average score with high category, for all aspects that are rated at sub content , that is Traditional Cane Sugar Production, canoe runway, simple machine, Working Principles Of Traditional Hunting Tools, Physics Principles on Traditional rice process, Phycics concept in Traditional Music Tolls, Physics Concept in Tradisional Games and Phycics concept in Traditional Music Tolls (hit and blow up). It suggests Book based on Riau Traditional cultural with the approach of Physics Concepts valid so that it can be used as a reference for physics lessons

Abstract

This paper investigates the Japanese sentence-final particles „yo‟ as they occur in conversation and the equivalent of „yo‟ in Indonesian using by Japanese Education students of Riau University. By using theory of sentence final particles presented byMasuoka (1992). This research is a qualitative descriptive research with translation of sentence-final particles „yo‟from imperative, information and invitation sentences as main data. The result of this research are as follows: first, most of students can not distinguish the function of sentence final particle „yo‟ in imperative, information and invitation sentences. Second, the needs of learning improvement in senteces final particle esprecially in grammar and conversation lectures to teach the differences of senteces final particle functions.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the inquiry model in the lecture material for bacterial growth temperature optimization, as well as prove an increase in student learning outcomes after applying the inquiry learning model. The form of this research is classroom action research (CAR). This research was carried out in two cycles, with the stages of each cycle including planning, action, observation, and reflection activities. From the results of this study can be known the percentage of classical completeness from the pre-test, cycle I, and cycle II. In the first cycle pre-test, the average score of students reached 60.4. Furthermore in the post-test cycle I increased to 79.1. This means an increase of 19 points. Then in the pre-test cycle II the average grade reached 58.8. While the post-test cycle II increased to 76.4. This means an increase of 19 points. From this explanation it can be said that the application of inquiry learning models to improve learning outcomes of bacterial growth temperature optimization material can be said to be successful because, it can exceed the achievement indicator targets previously set, namely the average grade value ≥ 65.

Abstract

Early childhood education is the foundation for further development. Because the concepts that children get at this level will be the basis for the next level of education. One important concept is mathematics. Various studies have revealed that children have difficulty learning the most basic concepts in daily life. Therefore, it is necessary to enrich what needs to be improved, so that children will not be afraid of learning mathematics. One of the determinants of ones success is from self-concept. When a child is playing and learning mathematics, the teacher should develop a childs self-concept of mathematics. The child will have high self-concept of mathematics. It will certainly affects the learning outcomes at the next level of education. This study tried to analyze the mathematical self-concept of children aged 5-6 years. The data collection technique is carried out by observing children while playing and learning in their preparation.Based on the research findings that carried out with quantitative descriptive methods obtained the mathematical self-concept of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten FKIP University of Riau is categorizedinto average level. It is taken from the empirical average of 19.98. It showed 21 children or 50% are categorized into good level and the other 16 children or 38.10% are categorized into average level and 5 children or 11.90% are categorized into poor level.
