Abstract

Financial statements are beneficial for business actors, including MSMEs. From these financial statements, the position and financial condition of the business can be known, so it can be used as an evaluation material in determining the direction of the business or strategies to face competition. The majority of MSMEs in Condongcatur Market and Beringharjo Market still record financial statements manually, which is vulnerable to the risk of losing transaction data/files. This makes the financial statements incomplete. In this digital era, many applications offer ease of recording financial statements for MSMEs, however many have not been able to use them properly due to limited digital knowledge. This activity aims to help overcome these problems by providing training and mentoring for recording MSME financial statements using the Buku Warung application. The method used is a survey, providing material on the importance of financial statements for MSMEs, training and mentoring on using the Buku Warung application, and evaluating the activity. The results show that this activity helps MSMEs record financial statements efficiently and avoid losing transaction data again. Suggestion givens it is hoped that this community service activity will continue to help more MSMEs.

Abstract

his activity aims to provide solutions to the problems faced by the community in the agricultural sector. In this case, the help of pollination by stingless bees is a solution to the quality and quantity of agricultural crop yields, especially bitter melon plants grown by the community. The selection of stingless bees as pollinating agents is based on safety and convenience reasons for the community in participating in a series of activities. These bees are adaptive and easy to manage. The activity method is participatory action research (PAR) which actively involves the community from the preparatory stage, the process, to the final stage. Activity evaluation includes context, input, process, and product. The result of this activity is that the community understands the technique of using pollinating bees to optimize bitter melon crop yields. Through this activity the community also understands the importance of maintaining bee populations in nature. The positive impact that can be expected from this activity is an increase in the quality and quantity of bitter melon yields in the form of fruit size, number of fruit, and number of seeds. Furthermore, the community took the initiative to plant other types of agricultural crops and reuse stingless bees as the main pollinating agent.

Abstract

Empon-empon plants such as white turmeric are plants that grow widely in Indonesia. One of the areas producing white turmeric is Argorejo Village, Yogyakarta. In this village, white turmeric is only used fresh, and a small portion is processed into herbal drinks which have a short shelf life. Previously, there has been a lot of research regarding the benefits of empon-empon, especially white turmeric, as anti-diabetic and anti-tumor because of its high antioxidant content. The results of this research show the importance of consuming white turmeric. The use of white turmeric can be innovated into functional food products such as noodles, which are people's favorite food. The aim of this community service is to train and practice how to develop white turmeric noodle products in the Argorejo Village environment. The activity stages included counseling by students from the Faculty of Agroindustry, which was attended by more than 20 participants, followed by training activities on making white turmeric noodles, and closed with sensory testing to determine the community's acceptance. The public is enthusiastic about participating in this series of programs and understands that the product has sales value and has good market potential.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of making the logo as a form of MSME product identity. A logo is a special symbol that represents the legal property of an entity. The logo design is used as a tool to help improve community businesses, one of which is MSME. A successful logo usually reflects the characteristics of the business or organization, depicts the message to be conveyed, gives a professional and consistent impression. In many cases, the logo design process involves identification, concept development, sketching, color selection, typography and other design elements. Companies or organizations usually work with professional graphic designers to create effective and impressive logos. By creating a logo for MSMEs, it is possible for these MSMEs to be widely recognized by the public. The main purpose of having its own logo is to form an identity that differentiates it from competitors. Therefore, it is important to educate MSME actors about design using tools commonly used by printers so that the production process can be carried out easily. The resulting logo has followed the Graphic Standards Manual (GSM) rules so that it is expected to fulfill its function as a means of product and business promotion.

Abstract

Papua has various kinds of potential marine natural resource wealth, both biological and non-biological natural wealth. The potential of these natural resources should be utilized to improve the community's economy. Utilization of the potential of marine resources is still far from expectations. One of the potential marine resources is seaweed. Seaweed has export potential, and its economic value is met from cultivation activities. The aim of this community partnership empowerment (PKM) activity is to increase the knowledge of small-scale seaweed farmers and implement pre-harvest seaweed cultivation practices in Arareni Village, Yapen Islands Regency. The approach used is the delivery of material through socialization related to cultivation practices, starting from the land preparation process, seeding, maintenance, calculating harvest time and yields, as well as group management. During the socialization there were also questions and answers and discussions. The success of the activity is evaluated through a pre-post test. The results show that the highest increase in knowledge was achieved in the cultivation process material (pre-test 47% and post-test 61%). Seaweed farmers know that the seed production age is 25-30 days, harvest after 30-45 days, seed weight 50-100 grams, maintenance takes 25-30 days, distance between ropes 100-200 cm, seeds must be 20-50 cm apart below the water surface and the yield size is 250 g/rope.

Abstract

Processing and application of tarum leaves into indigo powder for woven threads dyeing has been carried out in the Weaver Women's Group of Amol Village, North Central Timor District. The less knowledge in producing indigo-colored woven fabrics and unavailable source of Indigo leaves during the dry season are the main reasons to conduct this program. This program was carried out in 4 main stages, namely socialization, demonstration of Indigo leaves processing into indigo powder, application in yarn dyeing and evaluation. This activity was able to increase the knowledge and skills of the Weaver group in processing Indigo leaves which are abundant in the rainy season into indigo powder which can be stored for use in the dry season. The resulted powder has been applied in the coloring of the woven yarn to produce an indigo blue color.

Abstract

Many MSMEs do not understand the importance of branding, especially those involving social media. MSME actors should start taking advantage of ongoing technological developments for product branding. Lack of understanding about the importance of digital branding is also compounded by the lack of ability to produce quality, eye-catching product photos for digital branding purposes. In digital branding, product photos are very important to show brand identification and be able to attract consumers. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out with the intention of helping Medokan Semampir UMKM actors carry out digital branding activities through product photography. Community service is carried out through counseling, training, and assistance in making product photos. The results of the product photos are used for digital branding on social media. It seems that product photography is still not easily accepted because there are several MSME actors who are not familiar with the technology of the world of photography. In terms of taking product photos, MSME actors still need the help of the millennial generation to determine the proportionality of a photo. However, each MSME itself has been able to assess the use of the background and properties that are suitable for their products.
